What's your preference?

Would you say "I'm a girl who is 20 years old" or "I'm a woman who is 20 years old"?

Same with Man/Boy.

For me, I'm still in the middle of the transition... I don't really care either way.
Now I see the secret of the making of the best persons.
It is to grow in the open air and to eat and sleep with the earth.
-Walt Whitman

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Girlman.

By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!''

I don't care what people refer to me as. Girl, woman or lady, it doesn't really matter to me.

Although, I'll refer to anyone older than me as 'Man' or 'lady'

Girl or Boy sounds kiddish

I refer to myself as a guy usually or male if I am being more formal sounding. I also accept dude. I dont like referring to myself or being refereed to as a man. Im okay with boy so long as its not condescending.

I don't mean to offend, but Zazie doesn't quite sound like a female's name IMO.

Doesn't matter to me. People who are older than me, like my parents or grandparents, they call me boy. Children usually say that I am a man. People my age say that I am a "kille". I think that is like calling someone "a guy" or "dude" in English.

I think about this often, even though it's trivial.

I use "guy" as a catch all for males of most ages, say 16-50 or so. I typically reserve "boy" for kids and "man" for older men, though obviously there are exceptions. With females I am slightly more precise, perhaps because there is no "guy" equivalent. "Girl" works up until the early twenties, but going from that straight to "woman" seems like too big of a jump. I've taken to using "young woman" to refer to females around 22-35.

This is just one of countless examples of the problem that arises when you try to divide a continual process into discrete sections. Comes up whenever talking about generations, abortion, age of consent, etc.

I prefer to be called or referred to by Name or Pseudonym, but I don't mind whether others use Boy, Guy, Dude, Mate, Man or whatever to me.
If I introduce myself, I either leave specifying my Gender out (because it should be obvious) or at most say: "I'm a ... Guy who ... Nice to meet you."

I actually have an exception to my rule of not being called a man. I dont mind "Heyy, man" "aw man, why?" kind of stuff. Apparently being refereed to as man does not bothers me in second person addressing but it does when its "Im a man" or " you're a man" and "hes a man"
