Eh, this is likely to end up as the best season of they year for me, so I woudn't worry too much. I reckon the problem for most people is that 2 of the most popular anime of the season are the usual ecchi stuff and to make things worse, they're very similar. The thing is, if they bothered looking at the less popular stuff they'd notice there's plenty of variety. |

People have shit taste, plus since this is a heavy sequel series most people already have lower range of shows to watch. There are going to be hate threads all the time, just move on, if the shows are good to you that's all that matters. |

| The series that you are talking about aren't really too bad. yea they aren't super original or anything but they are fun to watch. Don't expect every anime to be The Godfather Part 2....we need anime like Jurassic World/Paranormal Activity. |

This is literaly like 'regular guy founds giant robot' ver.2 Very few anime are truly original and not like others. Even fewer of them (truly original anime) are good. Most of the ones that are original and good get copied quite a lot. Overall, most anime are going to be easily classified into a bunch of common forms. For example, the big 3 anime all follow the "battle shounen" format. Many shorter ones do so too, but add more girls for the older audience, like Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance. Another popular format is harem, preferably set in high school in some circumstances that surround a boy with a whole bunch of different pretty girls. "Regular person gets to a fantasy/game-like universe" is a ridiculously popular and useful format, because it allows the author to tell the audience what they need to know about the new world through the person from our world. It's not just anime for boys. Magical girl anime has about 3 known forms, yet hundreds of incarnations. Reverse harem is also quite well-known and codified. High school magical battle anime is just one of these forms. These forms are popular because they work. Any good author will put his own spin on the forms - one "harem" show might be about a bunch of maladjusted people interacting and becoming better people as a result. Another might be about overcoming class or cultural barriers. Third might be pure enjoyment, with things going perfectly and ending with the male lead actually marrying all the harem girls. Fourth might try a deconstruction, with a bloody finale and a bunch of orphaned kids the MC managed to make in this short period of time. Fifth might do away with the male protagonist and make MC a girl too. So it's not like all these anime are the same. For example, I enjoyed Absolute Duo a lot because the female lead and apparent winner (of a harem) was not a typical tsundere, but a Rei clone, my favorite type of girl. |

It depends on your taste. I have the feeling most people are into fast paced action packed anime and there is just not a lot of those this season. I hear a lot of people get bored after a few episodes. If you have no patience I think this is not a season for you. I agree some anime this season are really standard or they're just going nowhere but I am genuinly enjoying 4 series this season and I think this is not that bad considering it would probably be even more if I watched two of the sequels that are airing atm (but I won't cause haven't seen the prequels yet). |
