| Monogatari raped and pillaged this list, goddamn. DanMachi is still going strong after all this time. Better make a sequel dammit. Rakudai got a boost which is good. Hopefully Asterisk will follow suit. Sakurako is up there, that's good. Hopefully the older vols sell some more copies once the anime gets rolling. Accel World teaser led to huge sales boost. Maybe the anime original shit wont do so bad after all. I'm just glad Rokka no Yuusha finally made th- ............oh...nvm. |

So we definitely will see Rakudai Vol 1 and Asterisk Vol 1 on Oricon's weekly chart 5th-11th Oct. Most likely we will see Rakudai Vol 2 too. There's also a chance we will see Rakudai Vol 3 & 4 and Asterisk Vol 2 on the chart. And that's the problem with using rankings from a single store that leaves out a large number of light novels from its "light novel ranking" to state what will or will not be in the weekly Oricon rankings. Indeed, there were only 8 things in this week's rankings that Tsutaya even includes. |

I don't know how the previous volumes sold though, but seeing how it's from Index's author, I thought it'd selll more. Sadly that's not the case for Kamachi's works. Just because he's the author of the Raildex series it seems many people aren't willing to try out his newer series. Its a shame too; if there's any complaints about his writing in the more recent Index novels, the novels in the other series seem to make up for it with even better writing (something I found out myself when catching up with Heavy Object this week). The other issue is that the novels for the other series are released much more infrequently. Index has 2-3 guaranteed releases each year while the others have 1-2 each year. And for Heavy Object at least, its odd for it to release 2 volumes in a single year. |
