| A supernatural anime wouldn't necessarily have vampires in it. Vampire gives you an indication of the supernatural beings that will be in the show. I say it should stay. |

| There are also people that enjoy/look for vampire-associated anime but dislike other supernatural themes. IMO, it should stay. |

| If you check mal a few stuff tagged with vampires/demons is actually fantasy and not supernatural. Example - Vampires - Vamp! Example - Demons - Atarotte no Omocha I can understand why you'd think that way with vampires, but I think demons isn't quite as easy to put together. I think it doesn't hurt to have the genres either since I prefer supernatural > vampires and if I'm gonna' be reading a supernatural series with vampires in it. I'd like to know ahead of time. |

| Nothing wrong with it being there. It would only be an issue if vampires were more common than they are in anime. Supernatural/paranormal has more to do with spirits usually. v8 said: Depends. In the traditional sense a vampire is the child of a demon possessed parent. Not a demon themselves. Some less traditional forms depict them as demons themselves. | I think it wouldn't be such a great idea since demon and vampire anime have both their own collection and stand out, so by combining them with supernatural the genre would become to 'general'. But I do see your point, I also think that the two of them can rather be considered as subgenres instead of genres. |

| Why would you want to remove genres? Especially simple ones like Vampire or Demons, it's not like you need a discussion on what these genres imply because of how confusing they might get like some other genres, they are very straight forward, sure, not that useful, they are very niche, but I don't see a point in removing them. |

| There is no prominent "vampire genre" in anime or manga, like there is for example one for mecha or magical girl. However MAL doesn't even have one of these, which is BS. |
| I would say the whole genres lists needs a revamp and their needs to be a list with subgenres, this would also improve the search engine. You can't actually say that we've got a good search engine on MAL. |

Until, this happens I don't think any of the "genres" should be removed. Right now, they can only help you search for what you want. I'm sure there are people out there who are interested in just finding vampire anime specifically. |

But if MAL doesn't want to remove it, I think they should add "Angel" as well. Why there is Demon and no Angel? just like twilight is considered part of the vampire theme of movies….angel doesn't really have much of a theme in shows and its usually never the focal point |
