| My favourite manga is Dorohedoro which I consider to be pretty fucked up. I do not think it's really that disturbing at all. It's rather funny at times. Great read, the art is unique too. |

| Well, I know it said lately, but usually I don't get disturbed. The only thing that has succeeded thus far was Shin Gendai Ryoukiden. It was just... Well it. Here read this part of the review: (This manga takes most of it's stories from actual crimes that happened, which makes it all the more disturbing. Each story is rather short, this manga being only 10 chapters, but it gets to the point rather quick, and its blunt about what it is trying to tell you. The stories take up to 3 chapters each, and when they are done, they leave you with a general feeling of disgust and feeling sorry for the characters,wishing that you could have helped some way. The author jumps right into each story and provides little backlog on what has happened, but these stories really don't need one.) Anyways, not only that, but all the blood and gore looked really realistic. It made me want to throw up. Not only that, but it was the middle of the night and I was just terrified, and I still have no idea why I would ever read that in the first place. Anyways I had to tell myself fairytails and sing lulabyes to go to sleep that night. Luckily, I didn't have enough sleep to get to the dream stage of my REM cycle... |

The 'High School Girl In Concrete' segment based on the murder of Junko Furuta is the most outright sickening thing I've seen depicted in manga. The fact that those events actually occurred makes it so much worse than twisted fantasies like Mai Chan's Daily Life which (though disturbing at the time) no longer elicit a noteworthy emotional response in comparison. There's another depiction of the same events by Kamata Youji called '17 Sai' that revises the ending to a happier one, but I don't know how much good that'll do for you. Probably best just to try to forget about it. |
