Steins;Gate, such an interesting theme ruined by stupid character relationships

Wait, are you kidding me? Sure, generic characters were really bad, but I am pretty sure it's potential wasn't waisted. If nothing else, Makise and Okabe overshadowed all other characters by a mile. Also, there are only handful of anime which were adopted from VN and still lived to be called great. VN's are safe avenues for anime, considering it will always have a fanbase which will buy it so producers don't really have to try too hard. That is why VN anime are mostly average at best.

Now, on topic- Obvious one is first season of SAO. I mean, first episode was badass, no matter how you look at it. You have game world, people trapped and trying to get out. Pretty simple concept, but still great. Yet, after second episode it started going downhill. For all mystery builed up around Asuna, we got generic tsundere. For all side characters, we got generic harem cast. We even got a dumb friend. Also, Kirito was nigh- indestructible, which destroyed tension in any battle he might have. I mean, he is so strong even rules of game had to bend for him, and it was literally stated by Kayaba. But then again, for all failure first season had, second will manage to surpass it by a several miles.

Next and more recent one is Tokyo Ghoul, at least for us, manga readers. Between rushed story, no character development and censuring, this anime lost all of it's glory, and what was left was simple pile of crap that wore name Tokyo Ghoul. Especially few last episodes, where most story was skipped, up to the point where reason for Kaneki's capture was erased and he was simple there because...well, just because. His character development was especially butchered.

No, it wasn't necessary but it did not waste any potential.

angel beats was far too short for what it tried to be, the pandora hearts adaptation was pretty horrible aswell even though it could have been amazing

SAO - Good first ep goes to the shitter after that

Berserk - Should have redone a series that followed the manga more closely, all the adaptations leave out a ton of characterization and events.

Psycho Pass - Ended up being too predictable and had some really obnoxious dialogue at points.

Claymore - Went downhill in the last 5 or so episodes..

Angel Beats - Needed more episodes and the twist was mad ridiculous.

Index/Railgun franchise - They need to cut the SoL aspect down more than a notch, there's also no tension between the two major factions in the anime.

Kyoukai no Kanata - Spends forever dragging the viewer along and half way in nothing happens except a really really ridiculous episode that ended up making me drop the show. If they had focused more on the supernatural aspect of this it probably would have been better.

Akame ga Kill: even though the story seems good, there are basic flaws. The characters can't be more cliche, and there's this black and white morality. There are just the ''good'' and ''evil'' guys. There has been no explanation about the corruption on the capital, which makes it even more ridiculous. The transition from drama to comedy was pathetic at first, but I think it has been improved over time.

Mirai Nikki: the plot was very good but the characters, except for Yuno maybe, had weak development. It felt really boring at times.

Definitely agree with the Air Gear and Berserk ones (I would have just liked it to properly finish following the manga)

Sword Art Online: I felt like it had a world worth exploring, but it's completely thrown to the curb in place of watching a dull romance bud between two lackluster characters.

Mekaku City Actors: Interesting premise and characters, but that diminishes all to quickly and we instead get some rushed, tiring story.

The list goes on, but these are the two anime that really stood out for me.

Attack on Titan. Took a good premise and made it generic, cliched, and just bad.

Angel Beats. Had potential but didn't have enough episodes. Poor characterization

Psycho Pass. Could've been good if not for poor characters and a bad ending.

Durarara- Lost all its steam during the second half.

Clannad. Started off as generic harem. Should've removed all the other heroines and just focused on Tomoya and Nagisa. Also, made nagisa an actual character instead of a cockroach.

Wolf's Rain. Once again, took a very good premise and didn't expand upon any of it. The main characters were archetypes, and the villain wasn't fleshed out.

Darker Than Black. Basically same as before.

Clannad would be better if it was more focused on the adult life and less on school. And less wish fulfillment ending.

Agreed with DRRR.

I've read the manga up to where the anime adapts and I honestly don't have any major issues with the adaptation. It could be better but it's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. I even think some things were improved.

Mekaku city actors isn't a bad show. If it was given 25 episodes instead of 12 it would've become a show which would compete in the top 30 (My opinion).

Tokyo Ghoul. Could be better.

Darker than Black Gemini is also disappointing.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Taking from this season, Zankyou no Terror is a lot of wasted potential.
Incredible production value, awesome direction, art and OST...all for a shallow action/thriller. It is still really good, but the first few episodes were hinting for some more "depth". I blame Five for this.

Sword Art Online

Blood-C - I remember being really excited for this cause I love Blood+, but what a pile of crap. It was so promising, but that ending was just the worst. Let's just pretend this anime never existed.

Skip Beat! - Don't get me wrong this is one of my favourite animes because of Kyoko Mogami. She is a brilliant character. However, that ending of this particular anime was so bad. It just ended before we got to see Ren act out his Katsuki. WTF O.o Could have at least ended it after that. I mean come on. I heard rumours of a second season, but that was years ago. At least I know what happens as the manga is still ongoing.

And animes with the MOST wasted potential goes to most if not all reverse harems, but that is to be expected I suppose.

Well to be fair it had some potential. To be like a anime version of KickAss with the whole normal guy wanting to be a hero and protect the neighborhood and eventually the city.

Of course it was completely flushed down the toilet. Gorilla-Guillotine ftw.....
