You may be misunderstanding the concept of enjoyment here. Seen without bias it doesn't really matter how you derive at high levels of enjoyment. For some people it's ecchi, for some edginess, for some cute girls doing cute things, for some it's laughing as hard as you can, for some it's all about the feels and for some about interesting concepts, plot twists, characters or dialogues. It's basically impossibly for any single show to appeal to all of them. Some combine a few but a lot also focus mainly on 1 or 2 of those. Ideally you could enjoy all kinds of shows for their own merits and what they are trying to do and give the most enjoyable ones of each category 10/10. But most people are biased towards one or more of these aspects (there are probably a lot more than I mentioned), which is fine. What's not fine is then concluding that people who are more biased towards any of the other aspects have inferior taste or a random rating mentality. Like it or not, what you call 'actual plot deep characters, intelligent dialogue and stuff' are just a few aspects and not by default superior to other aspects just because you ascribe some intrinsic value to stuff like 'intelligence' or 'deepness'. The only intrinsic value that counts in this context is that of enjoyment. You wouldn't watch 'intelligent and deep' stuff unless you enjoyed it after all. |
