How in the hell is Ars Nova selling so well? It was a model example of blandness, butchering source material and bad CG animation. Who in his right mind would want to buy it... Sales of IS are sad in a similar way.

Noragami 1's sales should now be at 6,304 copies.

Nagi no Asukara 4ranked last week but it didn't appear in the preliminary list. It sold 2,855 BDs which is slightly higher than volume 3's first week sales. DVDs sold less than 606 copies but I assume they sold about 500 copies.

Definitely NOT a disaster.

it should be obvious by now how dumb japanese otaku are (in general). it's why stuff like kyousougiga sells absolutely nothing yet your generic harem sells 10,000+

I'd like to ask a question before this thread becomes a whinefest about the preferences of Japanese Otaku (though maybe its too late...).

Does anyone know why Nobunagun and Koiuta are Box sets? Does this suggest that the production committee does not expect high sales for them? Don't they make way more money by splitting the discs up into volumes?

I haven't seen it, but I'm honestly glad that Sonico's selling well as a middle finger. It is only hated by ppl who take anime way too seriously. Yet, a lot of them are fine with scantily clad women in Kill La Kill, but double standards and hypocrisies are a common trend these days within the fandom.

Z/X Ignition bombed and for good reason, it didn't even follow or feel like the card game, the basis of card game anime is to show the card game in it's anime glory to sell said card game to those who aren't playing and to get those who are playing to see new cards to buy more cards so they may get them, if Yu-Gi-Oh followed the same formula Z/X did today, fans would be pissed.

*2. **9,872 **9,872 Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica Movie 3: Hangyaku no Monogatari Regular Edition

Limited edition sells 13 times more copies than the regular LOL

I don't know what the regular edition look like but the Limited Edition is well worth the extra money I pay XD.

As a big fan of the movie and Madoka Magica in general who collected every figmas of the PMMM and Ultimate Madoka(s) available in the market, the Limited Edition Movie which has a gorgeous box-art is the way to go.

How in the hell is Ars Nova selling so well? It was a model example of blandness, butchering source material and bad CG animation. Who in his right mind would want to buy it... Sales of IS are sad in a similar way.

it should be obvious by now how dumb japanese otaku are (in general). it's why stuff like kyousougiga sells absolutely nothing yet your generic harem sells 10,000+

It's really ridiculous baka gaijin pirates complain about sales.

Like it or not the "bad CG animation" is ground breaking and shows that an anime being in full CG is viable, although there's still a lot of work to be done before full CG anime will be more accepted. The Japanese recognizes that and that's why you are starting to see more full CG anime coming out.

Ah, no, the people who take anime too serious are not hypocrites, they were complaining about scantily clothed women in KLK for two entire cours: repeating themselves over and over and over again.

They are completely earnest in their petty minded, school marm, even the Victorian's wouldn't have been this bad, mentality.

You put your finger on the true hypocrisy these idiots have, how many of them are voting their dollars and euros? If all of those who are complaining actually put their money where their mouths are they wouldn't have to worry about the rankings. But doing something is hard, whining like deflating balloons is oh so much easier.

Oh my, Madoka and her girls are raping the charts ruthlessly.

Not even close by the looks of it. It might end up selling as many units as a Gundam Unicorn volume (it's DVD and Regular Edition Blu-Ray numbers are much poorer though so it'd be relying almost entirely on the limited edition Blu-Ray to make up the numbers to that 180-190K average) but it's not reaching the 500K or so that the later two Eva movies did. Frankly I'm kind of surprised, I thought the IP was more popular than that but at this rate it seems like it's on pace for about K-On film numbers. Still pretty good but hardly the all time record some make it out to be.

It is an all time record for late-nigth tv anime movies, which is what people are talking about.

Yeah I know it's not fair to compare with an OVA series and I really don't want to argue this too much, but I believe Macross Frontier's 2nd movie was above the 200K margin was it not. Also time will still have to tell if it can pass K-On. It looks like it'll pass the Gundam 00 film in a couple weeks if not next week, but Macross Frontier seems pretty tricky. I'm not saying it's not doing well, obviously it is, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

And yeah I know about the whole packaging deal with the game and what not for Macross but it just goes to show you how important packaging and extras are for disc sales now. I mean look at what that event ticket for Uta no Prince did for that shows first volume.

Neither Gundam or Macross are late night tv anime. Madoka already beat K-on!'s first week by 8k. It beating it is only a matter of time.
