Again not much difference from the original season tho a necessary part especially for those who have not seen the original or Fate/Zero.
Explanation is key in understanding.
Not to mention the Tohsaka Rin screen time is always welcome, there is a reason why she has been the best tsundere and twintail character of the past 10 years.

And Berserker or better said his owner moves fast next week should be interesting.

Episode shorter but this does not affect the beauty of the soul.
A bastard in clerical garb, this needed to kick start the tournament.
Yay!
Narration slow but necessary but the action is not made to wait long.
Drawings, animations, and OST of a good standard.
Ah! Now, we have to wait another week.

Man for me the show has gone a step beyond what I had expected it is a lot better than Stay Night at the moment the animation quality is fantastic and the music is great as always I am so happy to see Fate getting the treatment it deserves :)

FSN UBW is meant to be seen before FZ,

Then why didn't UFO do F/SN UBW before Zero? Makes no sense to me. Was there any production reason for this?

Some simple reasoning:
- If a series has multiple seasons, you don't start with the second or third season (where this bascially is S3 of UFO.) So newbies logically start with S1 which is Zero, and inadvertently spoil themself.
- UFO releases the series following the universe's timeline, therefore Zero should be the series to actually explain everything (even though there isn't really a character in it to do it with.)
- If you knew Zero was a prequel, it would still make more sense to start with that one, and therefore inadvertently spoil yourself.
- When newbies got advice from someone else and actually started with F/SN UBW they will be spoiled for Zero since it is a prequel.
- Same goes for when they already knew the storyline from DEEN or the VN and you know you'll need to start with F/SN UBW but you'll still get spoilers for Zero + you already knew everything anyway....

And then there is even a release from '06 and a movie. Which makes it even more complicated for non-familiars with the HGW.

With the Fate series it might be already too late and most releases already spoiler stuff for any other release in the HGW setting, but with the F/SN part you are probably the safest as of now.

The question remains: Why release Zero first?
The only thing I can think of is licensing stuff or pulling in old fans from the DEEN era.

ps. In the end I still stick with my 'universal order of watching series' which is: watch in order of release. But I have to admit that Fate might be the exception on this rule.

I had the thought at one point that maybe F/Zero could be used in the absence of a fate route, with all the Saber background and all..

But still, too much damage for HF. And the insight it gives you into UBW is so minimal compared to what it takes away.

Who knows what UFO is up to.

No, no. It's not looked in like in Fate, properly. Plus, when people suggest Zero can replace Fate, they mean in terms of introducing the Fate/universe.

But SN doesn't SPOIL Zero. Nasu made Zero to clear up the things about the 4th Holy Grail war that was always referenced in the VN.

Considering when FZ actually came out, I'd say it's easy to see why they started with a different series. The TV reproductions (which cover Fate) and the movie DEEN made were just a year old, which means UBW and Fate were still pretty new. They, and FZ were probably produced at around the same time, +- 1 year, so it would have been a waste of time and money to start airing a "remake" series that covers the same stories.

FZ was a more fail-safe way. The question then is: Why didn't ufotable do HF then? If they planned to do Fate and UBW anyway, then starting with the final route wouldn't be a clever tactic. That's what I think.

That's easier to answer - HF does not work as standalone.

Zero was intended to be more as a gift for nasuverse fanbase.

They certainly did not expect it to sell as great as it did.

That's what I meant that doing HF without a proper Fate or UBW is not clever.

I kind of agree that Zero was a huge gift to the fans, though I do think they expected newcomers to watch it too. It's inevitable. I'd say FZ was the less challenging story, as it's not a VN, but a LN. Like a testing ground before they finally challenge FSN.

I guess the problem doesn't limit to anyone.

I honestly don't know >u< all Saber is fine Saber. I normally can tell bad mistakes, even when small, but maybe UFO Saber is to glorious :3 All I can think of wrong with this picture, is that the blue is too dark, or maybe that's just me and too many fan art XD Nevertheless, that's how everyone else's side nose if drawn, it's UFO style. And we know now WHY the noses were so bad in the prologue...
