When I first started to watch this I was like, "So this is just a really disgusting, fucked up anime?" But now that I finished it, I am literally in tears. This really tugged at the heart strings, all the twist in turns is like my mind got warped (I will be referring to this anime as 'mind warp'. The ending is so sad but yet so happy, its really messed up. But then at the end there the part were it says that after they leave World 3, there is no world, yet Yuno appears. This anime is of in my opinion one of the best yet fucked up anime ever.

Why didn't the Apocalypse happen in the third world? That's because the third world future diary survival game never started. Because 3rd world 11's( creator of the future diary) future diary said he would be killed even before the "game" started so "God" stopped the game because it wouldnt work.
What I like to know is how did "Yuno" even meet 2nd world Godhood Yukki.
I would like to believe. He(Yukki) "trick" himself. Just like how Akise did by covering yukki ears. Making the future a little less predictable. Or by just typing in his phone "Yuno came to meet me". If your saying wtf is he talking about. It's in episode 26 last part of the episode after the credits check it out

Was at an 8/10 but I'm bumping it down to 7/10 overall. The flow wasn't good imo and I didn't really like the latter half when Yuki and Yuno got annoying for being weak and too obsessive and crazy :/

Thinkin bout that 6/10 but I'll leave it a 7 I guess.

*Rarely use the forum, couldn't ignore this question in my head*

How the fuck did Minene and Nijishima get married? Like how does he know to marry her? I know she remembers everything because she's a god now but does 3rd Nijishima remember her/their encounters?

Such a clever ending, but....

The Third World Yuno and Yukki would never have met... I mean, I'm about to watch Redial, but it seems to me (from many comments posted AFTER the airing of Redial) that they never did meet.

That leaves me more with an empty feeling than an evil Yuno ever would have...anyway, I have a lot to say, but I'll leave it for the review. I got the only spoiler out of the way here. I feel so empty. :(

Yonu and Yuki do not deserve a good ending. They should have been like Macbeth. He brutally murdered his friends in cold blood not to mention watching your best friend decapitation in front of you then next day sleeping with your killer friend in her house.

I was searching up the scene where Yuno was about to kill her "third world" parents and came across the dub on youtube. It's horrendous imo.

Child Yuno flashback question: There's someone you love, I can tell. I get it.
Yuno: Yes, the man I would forsake reality just to be with
Yukki: Yuno
Yuno: That's what love is
Yukki: Yuno
Yuno: Doing what you have to
Yukki: Yuno!
Yuno: Making the ultimate sacrifice
Yukki: Yuno!!
Yuno: Death is nothing

That's a fucking disgrace of a dub. There's little to no emotion in anything she says and her last line sounds like she's accepted death peacefully. The original nailed it with just 3 words. "I love Yukki" and a whole tonne of raw emotion.

I ain't talking trash about dubs in general since I do enjoy great dubs. Just this dub was fucking blasphemous.

Sure there were some questionable things in the anime, but I sure as hell enjoyed it.

And actually you guys should quit your bitching, many of you were complaining in the manga discussion that how lame was the HAPPY END ( like the hammer shit) and want the anime to get a different ending. Now they didn't show the hammer, and you guys are fucking bitching ? What the fuck is with haters.

BTW, Long hair= +100.

Im a bit late, but the hammer is technically in. You can hear something shatter and yuno saying yukki so... even tho its not shown it is the same ending

Damn Yukki, for apparently "winning" the game, he got the most fucked over, I mean I guess it is better than being dead, but still!

Huh, I thought this was a pretty good ending. Yuki decides to leave his dream world to save Yuno (that sequence was very well done), Yuno gets saved by Murmur and then kills herself after seeing the Yuno from the third world actually have a chance at a happy life. Seeing everyone basically get a happy end in the third world was pretty nice (Yuki ends up with Wakaba! :O Yuno isn't crazy!) except well, Yuki from the second world is basically just existing as god and not doing anything lol. After 10,000 years he's still in love with Yuno?! Well I guess he's stuck at 14 forever :P Though well, I know there's an OVA thing with an alternate ending I think, judging from the diary entry changing at the end ...

Overall decent show, animation and art were generally quite good, definitely liked some characters and didn't like others, but I thought at least the main ones had a decent story arc. The plot was ... well, generally OK but some arcs were terrible and some were great, which kind of ruined it for me. Plus a lot of things were kinda hand-wavy and took way too much suspension of disbelief for me to enjoy >_< Ending fit pretty well IMO, this could have been a lot better but it was still fairly enjoyable at least! 7/10

I honestly don't know how to feel about this ending. It was so sad and yet happy for in the Third World everything worked out right, everyone's happy. And Minene is there living with Nishijima, so I'm really happy for my ship sailed. Waaaaah. They're happy together, and ohmygod them babies. Them two flying babies of theirs. Hahaha. And apparently there are two Minene living in the Third World. Hehe.

In the Third World, Yukki and Yuno didn't end up together, but Yukki ended up with Wakaba and his parents are alive (NOPE NOPE Yukki is for Yuno only). And Yuno's life with her parents is ohmygod something I wanted for Yuno. Yuno didn't able to stab Yukki since she really loves him and I'm not okay. RIP Yuno of the First World who went to Second World to be with Yukki and now she's officially dead. Our fave Yuno is now dead. Fuck! Yukki's long hair, though. Damn. He looks good. I'm happy that everyone's happy, but Yukki who became the God is not since his Yuno died and he's been God for 10,000 years, but he didn't do anything? And he's been grieving over Yuno for that long? And what's up with his Mirai Nikki changing? Yuno is about to see him in the empty world? H-how? It's been 10,000 years! What.

So, there will be no survival game in the Third World then? Ugh. So many questions! Not really the ending I was expecting, but it's still good.

I'm rating the whole show a 9/10 since I really enjoyed it, and I really liked how it ended and it hurts. Waaaaah. Thanks for the journey! I loved this anime. ❤ I have a lot of questions that need to be answered now.

So in the 1st world Yuno kills yukki and realizes she can't bring him back when she is god and goes and kills herself in the second world to be with him and that world gets destroyed and in the 3rd world the 1st Yuno stabs herself and her memorys are preserved and yukki is now god of 3rd world then the memorys of the 1st Yuno are put into the 3rd yuno and then the god yukki and the 3rd yuno with all her memorys make a new world. Also I'm pretty sure it said somewhere that the 3rd world would end on may, 28 so that's why Yuno and yukki made a new world together. And in the manga it says that the wierd guy allowed Yuno and yukki to both become god to create the new world after the 3rds end. I think that sums up most of this confusing timeline.

There are some really good characters that make it worth watching, but Yuki and Yuno are annoying as hell during almost the entire show. They did get a little better by the end, though. The plot isn't too bad, but it's very predictable. The finale was nice.

This series brought out so many different emotions I usually don't get while watching anime. The emotions were mainly hate, anger, and rage. The character that brought me to hate, anger and rage was yuki. For the 1st 16- 17 episodes I couldn't stand yuki, I hated his character with a passion and was rooting against him at one point. He's got to be one of the weakest main characters in anime history. While watching this series, my hate for his character got so bad I wanted to change my user ID to IHATEYUKI lol. He cried in most of the episodes. His character stays a coward till around ep. 16, then yuki does a 180 and starts killing at will. Children, friends, it didn't matter to yuki at that point, he'd kill anyone who stood in his way. I stark contrast of yuki from most of the series.

I liked the series overall. The show had many plot holes and plot twists. I really didn't see the series ending the way it did. Although at times I did find problems with the story and the actions of several characters. I was still able to enjoy myself. My favorite character like most was Yuno. I had never seen a main female character like her before. It was nice to see. She started off as a very psychotic, but by the end, she was a sweet lovable heroine. Clearly the star of the show. Besides my dislike yuki, I realllyyyy like this anime.

I give it 8/10

I liked this ending. The happy endings for all the players was really great. I love that sort of thing. The only thing that ruined it was Yuki's whining again... but wow, what a twist, Yuki is whining for thousands of years! So annoying. And suddenly Yuno appears. Seriously, how?

And she was a sociopath. There's no way around it. She was fucked up. He 3rd incarnation was able to live a happy life, but that doesn't negate the fact that 1st incarnation Yuno was fucking awful. Even if this douchebag fell in love with her in the end, all we can feel is sorry for her, but that doesn't stop me from hating her character, as well as Yuki's.

I don't even think Yuno had to die. I'm pretty sure Yuki had already won the game by the time Eighth died. Yuno wasn't actually even a part of the game. Unless there is background to this that I am unaware of then this is something I think that the producers majorly overlooked and probably could have done better if they kept Yuno alive and ended the anime there. The OVA gave a good ending, but I do think I would have been better if they kept Yuno alive.

-Note to any who plan on watching: Make sure you watch the OVA.

I started this anime as a lol ride, the famous yandere meme that i got to get on to check it out and the horror i like to see.

At the end it was an emotional ride. True love that is destined to be broken because no 2 person can be alive, it was also heart broken to see the perfect moments in the World 3 like it never happened. I didn't think the resolve is the best but that's all she wrote.

Through out the story i did get annoy that Yuki is such a wimp that in few episodes of him straight pisses me off, but because the affection i have for Yuno i kept on rooting for her and got over it.

Hm... not sure how I feel about that ending. Seems kinda... empty and not really statisfying. I assumed that the third world would suceed where the other two failed though. I guess it's at least an ending.

Can't say that I understand the popularity of this show and its characters, I guess the story is kinda unique. That's the best I can say about it and the episodes which did not include much "Yukki" were alright. I was always wishing for all the characters to die because they were either horrible or retarded people. 4/10

Interesting premise and ideas for some of the ways in which the diaries are used, time travel is utilised but really poorly executed throughout.

The ending was actually pretty good despite the numerous plot contrivances and complete lack of character logic required for the plot to eventually get there.

Yukki has to be one of the most bland, dull protagonists I've seen in anime who despite being kidnapped, tied up, and force-fed against his will by someone who supposedly loved his every fibre and being, continued to dote and rely on her only an episode and a half later as if the basement episode didn't even happen, and to the detriment of his friends who were actually trying to help him throughout the series.

He lacked any resolve, decisiveness, and allowed someone that loved him unconditionally to be used a a meat-shield when it suited him. He didn't come with any ingenuity on his own that didn't involve Yuno or his cellphone, and despite him lacking any noteworthy positive personality traits, seemed to be liked by everyone.

Yuno was probably one of the most interesting characters in the show throughout the first few episodes, and Minene was probably the most cohesive character in terms of logic and consistency.

I allowed myself to be taken along for the ride, but the basement episode really ruined any immersion I felt within the story at that point, and any sympathy that I felt for Yuno.

I'd probably give the show a 5/10.

I'm surprised they didn't put any comedic scenes at this part.

"I can't stab you." Sure.... but you can AXE him.

This episode reminds me that people have circumstances for being who they are. Even the psycopathic Yuno could just be a normal girl with just enough care and love from her parents. But the 1st Murmur maybe pure evil, lol.

Lol, 8th and 11th pairing sure is a WTF ship.

Well, by the time that the 2nd Yukki won the survival game, he had lost everything he wants.

I thought it would be better if the studio used the "Here With You" OST in Yukki & Yuno last moment together. But, that's not to say that I disliked that scene.

You don't know what you've got until it's gone, huh ?

Well, I have no idea how Yuno is able visit Yukki in that last scene.

Now I preffer this kinda ending, so much better! The future in this 3rd World didn't turn to the terrible fate we all know! Yuno's mom had a change of heart for the better, which is very good! Feel bad for Yuki from becoming a lonely god though :(

Also, what do we have here? Minene became a mom of 2 kids with Nishijima, and Ai & Marco will become future parents. Nice! How unexpected to see Yukiteru with Wakaba...

I enjoyed the anime! Not my favourite kind of plate, but still, it was good :)

Eh.. the ending made no sense. I was expecting a much better story, especially since the premise was pretty good. Yuno is definitely going in my favourite characters list, but even her can't save this atrocity of an ending.

Well, I'm looking forward to the OVA, if it's not a cluster-fuck

Verdict: 7/10 - Yuno 5/10 without taking Yuno's beauty in to consideration.

Vai atrás do Yuno do 2° mundo, agora Deus. E vão eles reconstruir a porra do mundo. Meu pau mano.

I wasn't planning to watch the OVA, but now I think I don't have a choice, I can't just be left with an ending that's not an ending.

Well, I wanted to believe this show was better than people claimed it to be. After having dropped it for 2 years, I picked it again, deciding to give it a chance. After all, it's still beloved by many, and Yuno is such a popular character, that must be for a reason, right ? Well, even if there is, it didn't reach me at all.
I won't go on a rant because my reasons are the same as everyone else : the scenario was a mess and I wanted to punch most of the characters, especially Yuuki (and I didn't even dislike him at first).
I'm also very disappointed in Yuno. She annoyed me at first, but I thought I was being too harsh considering how iconic she is. And actually, there was potential. I especially liked her reactions in one of the early episodes, during Hinata's father's arc. But I gradually lost interest in her. She hasn't been developed enough throughout the show for me to care, most of the time she just felt like some maniac with nothing more than that, her crazy moments especially felt very cliche, I think that a character like her would've been better if they didn't make her insanity so over-the-top. I also found her backstory to be lacking, it felt too easy. I don't have anything against tragic antagonistic/crazy characters like her if they're well done but I didn't really manage to feel sympathy for her, at least not as much as they wanted me to feel it. That's probably because this sympathy was based too much on her tragic backstory rather than her personality, I don't like when shows do that, it's cheap.
But I didn't dislike her, she had her moments and wasn't truly badly written. Plus, I really like her theme (music box for the win !). I just was disappointed to see so much potential not being used correctly.

Overall this show was enjoyable at times, and I still liked Minene (except for her ending, I think her sacrifice had a strong impact that has been destroyed by her happy end), Akise and that banana guy. Especially Minene. But it had way too many flaws and in the end, I can't say I truly enjoy the ride for the most part, so I'm sorry but I'm gonna join the dislike (not hate) train and give it a 4/10.

All of this buildup for THAT? What The HELL?

Don't get me wrong, I get it, Yuki had to wait 10,000 years for his happy ending, but we had 26 weeks of agony hoping for a satisfyingly ending to this nightmare and all we get is a HINT that Yuno and Yuki were happy together?

We were owed at least a minute of their joyful reunion and we got squat. Don't tell me about what's in the manga, I'm reviewing the anime, and the producers of this episode dropped the ball big time when it comes to the viewers they put through hell with an emotionally traumatic series.

Watch the mirai nikki redial OVA that is the sequel, yet? 30 minutes. omg friend it's good.

This anime was superb. I read about some reviews calling it horrible mess. but it executes it's story in it's own best way. it was an insane ride. also one of the smartest animes i ever watched. it had me mentally stimulated the whole time. i guess the other reviewers who talked crap just didnt have the mental capacity to pick up on the subliminal plot notes that are meant to get you thinking about the outcomes around the next corner. i ended up guessing qutie a bit, most right, some wrong. or maybe, it was too easy of a plot to understand and not stimulating enough for more advanced anime watchers? that would make me sort of... "dumb", i guess?

Amazing anime. I usually dont do too much violence or ecchi. but holy shit this anime was amazing. Yuno ; amazing. Yukki, amazing. Supporting characters, amazing. Reviewrs said not enough development. Its not that kind of story! the goal of the anime was achieved superbly! to gleefully, gloriously illustrate the psychopathic passions of two young main characters falling in love during a gruesomely unfair story of survival forced upon them, and doing the most they can to that end while living for eachother.

And the artful layers of plot may seem messy and scattered at first, but thats only if you cant keep up, IMO. I will admit, if i wasnt in the right mindset , i would not have been able to follow this anime. It requires a seasoned tongue so to speak. I really dont appreciate that the main review for this anime was such trash, calling the anime a disappointment, and chalk full of bias.

I really feel for anyone who wasnt able to catch the full depth of this anime, and i recommend that they just take a break and come back to it again after a year or so and try it again.

I was chronically ill for 4 years, and during that time i could barely follow a story whether in books or anime, and i thank god i was able to finally regain enough of my health the last few months before stumbling on this anime, because i was able to appreciate it in it's full glory. There IS depth here, you just have to be receptive enough to catch it. This is not some shoddy anime and DEFINITELY not a disappointment

3/5 epic show with an ok ending, did not like it that much, extremely rushed

Overall i will give this anime a rating of 8.7/10 but 9/10 for YUNO GASAI
