Saturate said: it was a good episode,but if you will think out of the box,you will understand something: Ryuk wants half of light's life span,which means he has a big span,which means he wont die against L and win the "war",if so,why light needs those eyes?the answer for this question is: he doesnt. Great thinking! I agree with you, Ryuk is probably manipulating with Light to get half of his lifespan. Your explanation makes a lot of sense if you think about it logically. Another great episode, this is so exciting. It doesn't seem as if he were going to take the offer soon. But in the ED it seems as if he has shinigami eyes, tho it just may seem so. It would probably be pointless to take that offer. Plus seeing when each person you'll ever meet is going to die... I think it might be quite hard to live with that. Something along the lines of a curse maybe? Of course when you have the power to kill anyone just by knowing their name, it could prove to be useful. But sacrificing half of your lifespan for it? I don't think it would be that benefiting. Then again, seeing how far Light has gone already, he might as well take it. Even if he doesn't really need it. This is something that could be debated endlessly. |

Spocky shit right here xD love it, n the clazzic vocals/sound rather marveles ^^ it kinda gets my interesting more n more, the story sure gets my head on lots of questions, also cause its 37 episodes xD to the next episode i supousse :P Gotta love Ryuk, xD hmm think Light will take the bet.. xD |

| Light is just giving L better leads and being completely oblivious to it and rather being a bit too confident for his own good. Can't really blame him though. Either way, having shinigami eyes is depressing as hell. Even without the price. |

| Now I'm confused because the ED seems to heavily suggest that Light is taking that eye deal...but wouldn't that kind of make his job way easier?? This boy is gonna be killing everyone, and it's only a matter of time before he goes full on psycho and kills people who end up getting on his bad side, even if they're not criminals. He didn't know that guy wasn't a cop when he killed him, and now he's going to kill the detective tracking him too- only now he's got the lame excuse that "everyone who gets in the way of his 'justice' is evil and should be purged". Like, dude at this rate there's gonna be nobody left to create this Utopia you're wanting. He's already crazy and it's only episode 3 lmao I wonder how long Light's lifespan is though...I mean Ryuk seems to really want half of it so it can't be that short. |

| The ping-ponging dynamic between Light and L only makes Light more experienced and egotistical in the end. I love the non-stop action between the two. |

| So in this universe, everyone's lifespan was decided by fate. It's just episode 3 and Light has gone this far. I can't imagine what state light gonna be in the next 5 or 6 episode. L nailed it, Light has a chilidish mentality Damn, Light's father is the Chief Cop. I guess they will have a conflict in the future And Ryuk said that the stalker is creeping him out, so why not Light just use this advantage to force Ryuk to tell Light the stalker's name. Light could just said "If that troubles you that much Ryuk, why not tell me his name?" Light is in the hard position right now. - Kill the stalker, busted - Stop killing criminal, busted All he can do is to continue killing as if nothing happened |

| Honestly, this anime keeps inventing new loops and twists to the plot, hence preventing it from getting boring. Amazing stuff! Ryuk is a awesome anti-hero :) |

| A nice pair of twists to this series. I paused the episode and tried to calculate Light's lifespan but then Ryuk said something about converting the numbers to human years feelsbadman I don't know if I was supposed to recognise the stalker or not. We'll see. |

| Another good episode which felt like a breeze to watch while still maintaining the constant intensity in the air when seeing Light try to prevent further suspicion of him already, whereas L keeps on coming closer and closer to finding out who it is, so close that Light's already one of the many suspects he has from looks of things given how Light's father is in the force and has access to all the data of criminals that Light could use to write down names on the Death Note. The shinigami deal query at the end was interesting too, especially on Ryuk's side. He clearly doesn't care whether or not Light or L wins since in the end, he's just a spectator who will eventually get his Death Note back one way or another. But he does give Light an offer to pay for shinigami eyes that could instantly see the names and remaining lifespan of every person on the planet with the price being half his life span. I like how Ohba has given so much thought to the setup of the Death Note and how it functions/operates, and how the shinigami play a major role in the story too with powers that they could offer for 'equivalent exchange'. It's overexaggerated and a little corny, but regardless, still definitely thrilling to watch I have to say. |

| Surely Light isn't actually gonna kill the person following him, like, let's say that there are multiple officers or agents or whatever they are following the suspects. If one of those agents dies randomly then it'd be clear who Kira is. So far the only disappointing thing about this anime is how Light is presented to be smart yet has already fallen into multiple obvious traps |
| Looks like he's better off without that deal if there are some flaws to it like for example he can't see their names through a television or phone well he's going to have a problem with that. |

| So Light's dad is the detective. I wonder what that means. Would light be willing to kill off his own Dad if he were to get suspicious of Light. Ryuk's deal is interesting though, half of Lights lifespan for Shinigami eyes. I feel like Light is going to take this deal. Seems pretty solid, but that means if light wants to kill more people to make a "perfect world" he'll have to kill way more people rapidly. I foresee the death count skyrocketing |
