| It seems like I'm the only one bothered by the fact that sanji can like stand in the air (and not falling at all) doing nothing a few seconds while talking to Shirahoshi? unlike the manga we can not really see, but now, it seems like too weird to be able to stand there... >> CP9 members were able to do that? | Am I the only one here who didn't like the animation in this ep? At all? I mean I can understand somethings, but I didn't like how they did Sanji's sky walk, because, like the poster above me, makes it look like he can stand on air while doing nothing instead of just 'tripple jumping' XD It was still a pretty enjoyable episode its just that the animation bogged it down. Zoro's Phionix cannon was pretty boss though, Plus you gotta love Brook. |

| Lol I think it was even more fucked up actually hearing the Okama calling out for Sanji-kun-kun-kun in the anime. I'm glad Sanji didn't come back as an Okama, I prefer the suit over a dress on him. | Ok Sanji in this episode was.... W O W!!! Ever since we were introduced to CP9' s Moon Step I was hoping to see Sanji master this technique! It's so him! I am happy :) Zoro was awesome as always but I didn't have my "wow" fangirl moment yet about his new abilities. His moment with Kuma at Thriller Bark was so damn epic that I want something equal or even better to be wowed (fighting underwater was very cool though). I really want to see his training!!! Brook's audience-move was ingenious and hilarious XD One of my favourite things to watch on One Piece is the Straw Hats admiring and being proud of each other. So I truly enjoyed Zoro's reaction to Luffy's haki and Luffy's and Robin's reaction to Sanji's sky walk. PirateKingz said: If Sanji and Zoro had a match, Zoro would be the winner for obvious reasons. They have matches all the time and it's always a tie... Zoro and Sanji are two of my favourite characters if not my top 2. But if I have to choose one of them I would choose Zoro. I think that one of the reasons Oda makes those two fight all the time is to show us that they aren't different level fighters just different type... |
| Even though this is the worst (and longest) arc I've probably seen so far... I'm still enjoying a fair amount of it, I understand it's just a showcase... at least I'm past halfway through it now :D |

I always like how mysterious, supernatural seeming abilities from past arcs actually turn out to be Haki. First we had Eneru's Mantra, now we've got the CP9 abilities being explained too. |

| As with any battle featuring an asinine amount of people, it's certainly best in manga form. By drawing a still picture of tons of movement the brain fills in the blanks, a lively group battle spread can feel like a vivid moving war. But in anime.. well, since that illusion can't be made there is lots of dubious animation and even moments of what seem to be still pictures moving up and down to emulate charging. But despite the expected limitations of animation, what this episode showed of everyone's new skills was enough to make up for that! Firstly, I have some haki questions that I don't want answered obviously. I am curious about how conqueror's haki works. Could Luffy not just do a second wave of haki to knock everyone else out? We've never seen someone do haki twice in a row like that but I can't imagine he knocked out the 50k around him because the rest were too strong, rather it seemed like a proximity thing. If that's true, it goes against my first assumption that someone doing conquerors haki once is knocking out everyone they can so then it's not worth it to do it again, the idea that the first would have done the most damage possible. So, can he then only do it once, is he limited to that? If he wanted could he get closer and do it a second time but he's letting the 50k stay up for Zoro and Sanji to fight? I'm not sure, and I hope this gets answered at some time, although in the anime not by someone replying to me. Now onto the new stuff. Luffy did a third gear immediately!! It was like nothing to him, I wonder if his bodies gotten so used to gears they aren't so harmful anymore. I don't recall seeing him go small after that punch this time too, so maybe that's not a problem now. Zoro and Sanji both reflected on memories of their training and showed off new techniques they learned as if they were proving to themselves they grew stronger, that they will never lose again! At first I thought Zoro saying that while fighting some trash mobs was a little silly but when I thought of it that way it was kinda moving. Zoro showed off an amazing skill, an air slash tornado which moved like Crocodile's "Sables". He took some notes off of him(not really)! But instead of being a sandstorm it's a massive, moving, and chasing cutting tornado. Sanji on the other hand shared a funny story with us from his training, not only did he run so much that he can move like a fishman in water, but he can also literally fly as when he was cornered and on his last legs he tapped into one of the six powers. Luffy can emulate shave when in second gear, and now Sanji can do CP9's moonwalk! More than that Sanji shot a barrage of fire from his Diable Jambe, it wasn't just fiery kicks it was projectile fire raining from the sky. Talk about crazy moves from these two. Sanji is getting a habit of randomly figuring out how to do insane things, first he spun so fast his leg caught on fire and second he ran so much he learnt how to fly. One of my favorite moments in the entire episode, maybe actually my favorite, was when Jimbei deflected Hordy's water shot with his own. "Your fishman Karate is unskilled!" It was clear to me that these guys would have a lot of strength and speed but that wouldn't amount to true mastery or skill. So to be confirmed with Jimbei's undrugged water shot fending off the water shot of Hordy's which far precedes his normal power was great. Hordy is being shown just how powerless he is. He overestimated himself so much and to have the Straw Hats work with Jimbei to show Hordy that is a nice feeling as the Straw Hats normally had that shown to them. Seriously, the way Hordy feels must be somewhat like those absolute losses the Straw Hats felt, but I can't get ahead of myself, the officers and Hordy have not drugged up and fought yet. Things could still change, they may not go out that easily. Other than those seeing Robin's clutch crowd control, and Zoro's air slash go through masses, and Nami's thunderstorms, and Usopp amazing rain of green stars and adorable line about being called "Usopp'n-sama", and Choppers Kung-fu point, and Brook's song and dance to get them off guard before taking out a crowd was all nice. At some point a long time ago large groups of normal guys may not have ever taken them out but they were never this much of a joke. Everyone can handle themselves and I'm sure Usopp could take on the Franky family with ease now! Plus, Franky's even going to show off two new weapons from the Sunny so that should be cool. Even before the timeskip the Sunny could do some outrageous things.. Franky is so flashy. |
| The Straw Hats are absolutely dominating the battlefield and we got to see more results of their long and grueling training! Zoro learning from a humandrill with Mihawk's moveset and Sanji taking a move out of CP9's playbook were some really cool aspects of their improved skills. |

| Maybe it's a translation thing that the subtitles have been iffy on, but I don't understand why such a big thing seemed to be made about Zoro cutting through iron shields when it was steel that was the milestone before. If they were steel shields it would've been more wow for the viewer, but outside that it was an impressive new move. Sanji improved his Diable Jamble to give it a ranged effect as well as being able to hit like Luffy's gattling now insteaad of the single hit before. Of course with him mentioning that he had to run so much that eventually developed the leg power to be able to achieve 'Moon Walk'. Wonder how the Navy soldiers who learn it are trained? :P Looking forward to finally seeing more of the Sunny's soldiers. A big deal was made on their introduction, but they've only had something like 2 or 3 uses in canon arcs since they even got the Sunny :S |

| Loved seeing everyone fight. Side note chopper looks really weird in his new form. Not a fan tbh lol. Zoro and Sanji were peak this episode. I want more of Zoro on that island. Still need to find out what happen to his eye. Sanji I don’t need more, but his new ability actually cooler. I forgot cp9 could fly. So I did not expect it. I feel like the Fishman are almost too easy for the straw hats. Only an admiral or a pirate emperor is a threat to them |
