| For someone with zero experience fighting another person in addition to being a pushover his whole life, lasting a whole three rounds and putting up one hell of a fight against a prodigy like Miyata definitely makes him more than qualified to train in that gym. I can only imagine how great he'd be with a little more training! I almost teared up when Ippo did at his small acceptance speech β‘ |

| I'm just gonna assume that I'll love this anime. Whenever I start an anime, and can't seem to stop watching when I first find it alright or interesting, I end up finding myself loving it. I just can't stop watching. |

| It was sweet how the gym members welcomed Ippo, it was well deserved. And yeah, he came home with bruises and while it must've pained his mother a bit she could also tell how satisfied he was. She trusts him and that's why she's happy too. |

| as expected he lost, but ippo's determination to become a boxer is insane. the music is so beautiful, idek how it managed to make me emotional in just the 3rd episode!! this has never happened. |

| Good fight! Miyata looks like he's already cut out to be an outstanding rival to our main boy. Both of them got a great amount of focus on their character in what is literally a practice match. I really wasn't excepting the first spar to be so intense! |
