| Mother of all match ups - the episode. I loved the smooth animation sequences and night time lighting. Things like Kurgan stopping Garfiel mid charge was well conveyed. Even them water dragons be lookin good. I would take any upgrade in quality for a three month break. The funny part is that the script of this episode can be written in 5 lines (minus the foreshadowing and subtle messages), but it really didn't try to waste any time on anything (despite having the burden to reinforce returning casual viewers). |

| It’s back! That’s certainly an interesting way to start the show! We can see who will be fighting who; it should be fun to see how they match up. I enjoy all the sins, but I feel like they all fall into that laughing maniac bad guy trope. Is there anything beyond just being an actual crazy psychopath? I suppose it works well enough as I’m still watching the show. It’s good to see nice, clean animation. Looking forward to next week! |

I thought Rezero would be different, brainier but now it just seems like a convoluted setup for the usual predictable scenarios. Probably someone will die just for some feels, how sad.... Even as a nov reader I agree this is the worst arc of the series so far. But I don't believe it goes as low as a generic battle shonen. This is the most "battle shonen"-esque arc in the whole series. But even then, there are plenty of long term mysteries/lore elements that feed the narrative in ways actual battle shonen series wouldn't do. If you're willing to stay for the next season, the next arc is the closest to psychological horror we'll get, with lots of very nice character moments. It will also give us a small glimpse at the larger lore, in a way that isn't basically impossible for watchers to notice like what we've had since season 1. |

| Julius cooked himself rip, we will have 3 gluttonies soon I guess Also I guess Regulus invulnerability is related to his wives so as long as one of them believes he is invincible, he will be, maybe not 100% that is why he got 100+ of them to increase his odds, this is my guess. So if they kill them all he can die ig, pretty sure convincing them wouldn't be an option, but they would never kill them so, that's a tight spot lol, maybe the key is the blonde gal she seems to be the main wife and the most brainwashed maybe if they break her, maybe.. |

| The Counterattack Arc begins with a bang! A two month wait, and we are back with the remaining eight episodes of this batch of Re:Zero, and we jumped right back into it with the action. Reinhard and Regulus had a nice duel, but Regulus' invincibility continues to be a challenge for the characters to get through. Looks like there'll be many fights happening at the same time, and the Sin Archbishops have split up to conquer the city. Certainly quite a bit to process with all the fights, but it was a hype way to get back into the swing of things, even if this was just a setup episode. Lots of excitement to come! |

| Love how this show is running something like 5 plots at once, and I care about each more than most things airing right now. I understand the complaints that it's fight into fight into fight, but none of these enemies can be defeated with pure power or Reinhard would win already. Each archbishop is a little puzzle of power, weakness, and motivation that keeps me hooked. Just hope with so many the resolutions can all be satisfying. |
