That has to be up there with some of the worst start to an anime I have ever seen. I wasn't expecting to hear a Sonnenaufgang space odyssey reference... so messy and weird.

Is it just me or, over the past few seasons, the music/sound has gotten worse in so many new anime? Like how loud the music is compared to voices. Sometimes I can't really understand what they are saying due to that. Might be an issue on my end but it's really weird.

Too bad they forgot to add the Azalea scene that was apparently in the Manga. Thumbs down for making the story bland, more spice definitely needed.

Do not think we will get the manga level of nudity in this show. Nudity but no nipples with likely be a 16+ rating at Crunchyroll, and the show is 14+.

Me and my partner really loved "Campfire Cooking," so I have been quite looking forward to watching this show and seeing if it'll turn out as good.
So far, with episode 1, I am quite pleased. A great start for the show.

well it is a little bit like Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill as well as Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement. but unlike 'glamping' ... seriously that dude didn't cook on a campfire ONCE ... this one and 80k Gold seem to BOTH be all about economics and how 'our' products bought 'online' would work in 'another world'. at least this guy in Online Shopper is mildly curious about how his 'status window' and 'Item Box' works... but this guy doesn't have any MP/HP or ANY of the other 'RPG Menus' or 'Attributes' like strength stamina wisdom charisma etc.

he did screw several things up early on though, did he abandon his mountain bike AND those 'wolves' in the woods after hitting them with his slingshot? plus, did he try to open his 'Item Box' and 'capture' any of the 'wolves' alive? perhaps if he had watched Death March in the Parallel World Rhapsody, he would have experimented with putting fire, or a flaming object in his Item Box, or hot items like soup or his curry and seen if time freezes, or what happens inside his Item Box... like can he store a living thing in there? maybe a snail or a bug he found in the woods at first and taken it out of the Item Box perhaps dead? perhaps alive? or otherwise??

his seriously FF backstory bit at the beginning of the 1st episode was different! i expected him to isekai when he collapsed at work... but he got better, moved to the country, became a small-time farmer, and THEN got isekaied! definitely an 'oh shit! my life got better but now i'm in another world!?!' kinda story. :)

this one looks fun, i'm going to stick with it!

I know what you're thinking: this show has been done before, and yes: combine MAPPA's TonDemo Isekai with the 30-year-old adventuring party show, and you'll get novelist Hifumi Asakura's series featuring a 40-year-old Isekai-ed salaryman selling and making money for ends meet.

For the 38-year-old Kenichi Hamada, being in another world means a learning curve to buy and purchase items from the Shangri-La online store to store in his item box, and the buy-and-sell tactic becomes his method of survival until he is being found by a travelling merchant and a songstress, on the way to the town of Dahlia. Though he pays with pure pepper and gets back change that's an amount bigger than he initially thought, trying to establish the world's pneumatics with the help of innkeeper Azalea may not be a breeze, but Kenichi's learning is at least capable.

The items from Kenichi's world are new to most people, and trying to be a merchant first and foremost reaps good rewards for selling clothespins. Even with a guy looking for a sword that comes with expensive costs, and then with beastfolk that got him scared for a moment, business is as per usual. Soon, Kenichi's clothespins are going around like rumors as his standard of living goes up, and the world at large, slowly dressing out in sequence.

Asaka's back for a hard rock OP? Not sure that I like it though...

Decent start, like with most Isekai, but the potential is yet to be seen. Feels like the premiere here is speed-running things though...
@KANLen09 I can't agree more. We have seen this kind of series already, but let's see how it will be different from the others. However, while I was watching the ending, it seemed a mecha genre was peeking, we will see..

No spoilers here but I will say this.. don’t expect our 38 year old Mc to get with a woman in this series other than the few nights at the inn. He will simply repeat over and over how being 38 in Japan is right about the same as being 75 everywhere else.. 🤦🏻‍♂️. Once you hit 30 you are literally considered OLD. Which is truly strange since Japanese people are the longest lived people on the earth and they have created a gigantic empire of business that caters solely to the elderly. (If you find yourself with extra time look this up and read about it. It’s completely fascinating) I wish the elderly were treated this way and taken care of to this extent where I live.

Actually, really like the speed run intro. Those coming to the show mostly already get all of it without a word. Same with things like a Batman or Spider-Man origin story. We just don't need it the same way anymore. And to keep up with that changing culture of viewers, it also makes sense that people being isekai'd now will not be confused in the same way. Some *should* show up and immediately be like "Okay, what kind of world am I in? Video game (RPG, otome), fantasy with magic, other? and where in the social order would I slot in with whatever I have?"

Also, I REALLY like that he didn't die from over work!! He had a close call and immediately Stardew Valley'd himself outta there! Love it! The remix on 2001: A Space Odyssey was nice too!Looking forward to more.

This kind of anime/stories don't have super detailed plot or character writing so their enjoyment is restricted to little fanservice here and there and some comedy. So the fact that they heavily censored the already mild naked scene of Azalea tells me that the production either afraid or incompetent . Heavily lowered my expectations even though I enjoyed the source material.

Great first episode, probably my favourite show this season so far next to Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte. Love how they compressed the obligatory isekai introduction and how the protagonist has a no nonsense mindset and just gets to problem solving/work immediately.

I haven't read the manga, So I don't know the plot. The sped up beginning part felt pretty funny, Anyway, we seem to be fed up with such a long, cliche-filled opening section.

I watched it without knowing there was an ecchi tag on the anime. Honestly I don't mind ecchi, but I don't like the story about the main character sleeping with a girl who is much younger than him. Will this man become a pedophile in the future?

I think the story is already cliche and common, just think of it as a
Campfire Cooking in Another World with his online shopping ability, with an old male main character like many Isekai nowadays with a Harem spice of underage teenage girls.

The only thing that caught my attention from this first episode was the saleswoman selling next to the main character, oh and the woman who sang at the beginning of the story.

the wolves of this world are kind enough to wait until he is ready to attack
how could something supposedly created without any intelligence be good or qualified to be animated?
it's just an irl game where a man walks and does things that the author draws and it happens
should fantasy be a genre to eliminate the need for a story where you write whatever you want regardless of whether it works or not?

Copy paste of that particular series we saw back then where the guy gets a wolf... but this time, this old man got laid by a teenage girl. Is this another lewd series?

Nonetheless, it somehow has an interesting atmosphere.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Don't listen to people when they tell you that the anime that you want to see doesn't exist, and to quit asking, and quit searching. I found my dream anime, and yours could be out there too. Speaking of which, watch Record Of Grancrest War, you're missing out.

Yeah I also was wondering what happened between the MC and Azalea after he gave her candy and a sketch of herself and apparently she repaid him in bed. On that note he later brought her some fruit so I'm thinking she's the first of a harem he'll put together.

Decent start to this series and it does remind me of the Campfire anime except this guy sells modern items for a profit rather than cooking for a big ass wolf.

Not impressed so far, and I doubt it'll impress me in future episodes. It like kind of had me for a bit, but it lost me real quick

There's nothing here that's making it stand out from the countless other isekai so far, and if anything it's just taking ideas from those other isekai that I'm tired of.

>Some random Japanese dude is isekai'd because they hate life and work
>Isekai'd to a fantasy world
>The MC has an item box because of course they do
>They're going to sell stuff from his world in this fantasy world to make profit

Like, why should I care about this? It looks boring. It looks like other shows I've already watched and/or dropped because they were boring and I'm just sick and tired of seeing the same isekai stuff be done for the millionth time.

And wasn't this supposed to be ecchi? I swear this was tagged as ecchi a month ago...

Returning to Winter 2025 once again to hit another Isekai, not sure how much longer I’ll keep this Isekai train going but I’m not done yet lol. This was pretty fun, very similar to “Campfire Cooking in Another World” with the whole online shop being available in the Isekai world, but that show was more centered around cooking, this one seems to be more about doing business and our boy Kenichi is certainly making a killing with those clothespins, not the thing I expected to become popular but it makes sense.

And did my eyes deceive me, or did Kenichi bang Azalea right after meeting her? Lmao that caught me by surprise, not something you typically see in these kind of shows, I’m guessing Azalea is into dads or something lol. I also wanted to mention how quickly they went through the process of Kenichi getting isekai’d, like that was damn fast lol, but there’s something I like about doing it that way, we’ve been through this time and time again, we know how one gets sent to another world, might as well blast through that and get to the stuff we’re here for. Also, I kinda regretted missing this one this winter because I like this subgenre of Isekais where it’s about a middle aged dude, something about them is more chill than the usual, hopefully Kenichi is a good MC to fit that bill.

And wow that OP was wild with the visuals, you’re telling me they get a whole ass car and a mecha version of an excavator eventually? This might be secretly awesome lol, the song by Asaka rocked too, it kinda reminded me of classic anime OPs.

Gonna be honest, was expecting it to be awful from the start, so I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't hate the first episode or the MC.

Animation is meh, and the editing with weird camera cuts is hilariously awful, but other than that, it has a chill atmosphere, especially when the MC set up his shop in that corner. I'll watch it some more, and I hope they keep the vibe intact.

This has happened before. In fact, more than once. However, despite its derivative nature, the art isn't bad. The main character isn't blunt yet. He even got involved with the innkeeper, which is extremely rare for this genre. And the lolis aren't clinging to him yet. The plot moves along at a decent pace. For now, it's not the worst example of the isekai merchant genre.
Yes. This can already be considered a separate genre. Over the past couple of years, many anime have been released in which the main character is a merchant rather than an adventurer. Rebirth as a Vending Machine is a typical example. Sasaki and Peeps is variation on the theme. It's time to create new genres.
Where is the isekai genre? Isekai trading? Isekai adventure? Isekai life in the village?
As I understand it, new genres are currently forming.
Simply put, fantasy, ecchi, and harem reflect the presentation style rather than the genre itself. Detective is a genre. However, you can label anything as fantasy. For example, you can label anything from Lord of the Rings to a book about average Joe, a guy who finds himself in another world, as fantasy. Ecchi and harem simply indicate that you should expect boobs and a harem. They're not even genres, but tags, like 18+.
Throw out some ideas. Maybe someone will come up with something smart.

Honestly all things considered a pretty decent first ep
Better than expected
About the only downside is that we dont really get to see much of the other characters
Otherwise its fine
The real question is how the rest of the elements (mainly monsters) are going to be handled
And how it will keep things interesting
Seems like its listed for 13 eps?
And the characters really that we havent seen yet
@CocoaGalaxy So that you don't complain about taxes in Japan and understand that even in Isekai you can't escape them. Even in the magical geospatial store, Japanese VAT and compliance with Japanese laws and regulations still apply.

At least the dude has a lil bit of game with the ladies, but ffs...the valuations of items in this show, especially ones he sells makes NO SENSE!!!...*sighs Suspencion of disbelief has been suspended lol ffs...
