| Yuri that is mixed with other interesting elements instead of simply school and yuri together, or even if the work's main focus is not yuri, there could be some yuri content. For instance, I like that there's swordfight and fairy tale within Utena together with yuri context, and that the Tower of Doors arc in Kakegurui with yuri moments. And yuri with both men and women to make the background more realistic. Of course women would be the main focus, but there could also be men like the girl's family members or classmates that support their love with another girl, just like what you see in Bloom into You (the Student Council guy that likes to observe romantic relationship instead of having one of his own) or Aoi no Hana (Akira's brother). I rarely watch yaoi, but it's a pity to hear that some fans hate to have girls in yaoi story or girls in yaoi story are not well written (written as if they are interfering romantic love between guys). It's not necessary that people from opposite sex to be enemies automatically in a yuri or yaoi story, and it would be great to see characters of opposite sex to be written more than just annoying love rivals. An ex that treats the main protagonist well but eventually breaks up because of some less negative reasons is also good, somebody like the divorced wife in My Brother's Husband (although she is married to the straight main protagonist, I think she is still a good example of ex that treats others well). |

| I usually like shorter yuri manga as per my experience yuri tends to delve into the same trappings of shoujo manga when it gets too long, like useless subplots and dumb misunderstandings. There are a few exceptions like Aoi Hana but most 5+ volumes manga are like that. As for Yaoi, I tried Sasaki to Miyano and Umibe no Etranger and enjoyed both, but I'm not as interested in them, especially because of all the questionable stuff that surrounds the genre. |

| A mix of some aspects. I love fluffy + wholesome yuri, but I also like when there's some tragedy/angst in the story as well so the couple has to earn their happy ending in some way. I also really love character conflict; not so much will-they-won't-they, but characters overcoming prejudice, discovering that they're worthy of love after pushing someone away for so long, that sort of thing. Slow burns are just... okay, but character development attached to that slow burn? My most favorite thing ever in yuri~ โก Generally I stay away from super kinky BDSM stuff, but if it's a lightly touched upon + an actual element of the story I wouldn't shy away from it. I mean I have read Citrus but god I have so many mixed/conflicted feelings about it |

| Different types. The most important for me is the plot, characters and art of course. I prefer drama, deep plot in yaoi works, light comedy, romance too.
