I wish I didn't read the manga and was blind to it all, I really am not a fan of how stuff was handled.

I think I'm gonna settle on a 4 for this show. This whole thing smells like baby's first suspense. The scenes with Emiliko talking with Edward had a cutesy music in the background and? people who made this expect it to be taken seriously? A kidnapping victim talking to her raptor to a cute lil tune and this is meant to be tense?

Not to mention the way the brainwashing of the blond and the redhead were dealt with. bleh

Attempt to save Emilico actually was something sinister around more mystery shown in the episode this show is very surprising with the events looking forward to the next episode it seems Be good, the very outcome of this show.

Ah shit has hit da fan, tho what exactly will they do... I mean interrogate her until she turns herself in? damn I can't really see anything feasible from this encounter.

Behold of my awesomeness~

Its now episode 12 and its really good.. as emilico was abducted by edward, kate has done everything she can to find her.. and to do that, she would need the help of all the children currently in that building.. then after they accomplish what they have planned, kate goes alone.. but john had this feeling, that he should also help kate, as their enemy might also be quite powerful.. where he was right to worry, as kate might be in trouble after she will reach emilico.. we are who we are, not just some kind of extra in someones life.. which now goes to show on how the shadow masters care for their different servants, thus earning their trust and loyalty.. anyways, i rate the episode a 9 of 10, 9 for story and 9.5 for art.. :)

It seems the salt due to the anime going original route continues, huh?

Overall, another quite entertaining episode. Even while kidnapped, Emilico continues to be a cutie and seeing Kate receiving the help of Patrick and co. was quite heartwarming in a sense.

One more episode to go. Looking forward to seeing John finally punching something... or someone.

I’ve heard some people talk about there being an anime original ending, so does that mean the entire story will get wrapped up next week and no season 2 or?

Not the entire story since the manga is still ongoing. The season will receive a somewhat "conclusive" ending by not leaving many plot-lines open and in case of a potential sequel, the author already said he would make sure to adjust the narrative as best as possible.

My only critic, is that the others got out of the hypnosis easier than Emilico. Just saying.
Im only saying this because she almost died from water intoxication.

Emilico drank two cups of that "coffee". Maybe that was why it was more difficult for her to be brought back.

Manga plebs getting angry again when show goes for semi-ending with a different plot rather than going fully according to manga so it will need season 2 to even start to tie smth together, season which maybe wouldn't even happen, as well as manga still being ongoing so they can make material and linear plot for 5 more seasons in next 15 years.
And anime only watchers will always prefer plot actually being ended (somewhat) to "hehe, idiot, now go read manga which is still ongoing and may be so for 15 more years".
So... So far so good, episode wasn't bad as well as show overall.

It's a bit upsetting how they're going with the original plot. As far as I know, only Shaun and Emilico
They have cut some other things, like Ma-you-know-who-se, Ch-you-know-who-er and Robe-sama. They've also sped up another things, like the Debutants Metting, Edward taking control of the children's wing and even
I hope that Yakusoku no Neverland's flop taught all studios how to behave in relation to the anime original plots. I believe this series has quite a great story, and going for an original route will make a S2 adaptation difficult.

Disappointed ... what the hell happened with Ricky and Lou? How did they overcome their brainwashing this easily?! Also, why didn't they try to stop the meeting to begin with. Weren't they supposed to become "loyal" by just drinking the coffee.

What a joke ... !

I was wondering this too. Its sad because it was getting better with the debut then it just got weird from ep 11

Another build up episode. Its interesting to see the debutants helping each other. Edward was the culprit of abducting Emilico. And Kate alone saving her. And that cliffhanger tho.

Overall good episode next episode is the final for this season. I hope for a sequel

I'm reading tons of comments about how much the Anime has deviated from the manga and it's not surprising since a lot of Anime adaptations aren't faithful to their original source. Still, this just makes me want to read the manga which I will be starting today. I'm still interested in knowing the original Anime ending and still liked this series so far. I'm typing this before I read the manga and might change my mind but kind of like how I felt with FMA and FMAB. They're both creative and interesting in their own ways.

Good to see you wanting to read the manga! It's a treat. I'd recommend just starting from the beginning since the anime skips some details that will be important later! have fun.

I see a lot of people saying Ricky and Lou came back too easily, but I don’t see it that way (keep in mind I haven’t read the manga). All the dolls came to their senses when the shadows finally opened up to them, and that includes Ricky and Lou.

As a manga reader, this is a really good plot for an anime original.

Yes, there are some plot conveniences and some rushed parts (like Ricky and Lou coming to senses too quickly), but this is A LOT more detail for the series than is presented in the manga. I don't remember the manga ever talking about 3 floors in the Shadows House. Louise is actually shown using her powers, which is barely done in the manga. We see Shirley (she first appears right after the ending of the debut arc in the manga, so that's not rushed) as well, but that's not revealed just yet. They have kept everything that made the series so tense and mysterious, we still don't know so much about the Shadows House.

Manga readers need to stop being so anal about faithful adaptations. Sure I would've loved one as well, but this isn't bad whatsoever. I think this is an excellent anime original plot, if everything goes well in the final episode, then this anime was easily a 8-9/10 for me despite being original, because that was really really good for an anime original. I totally see the author adding in details and nuances that they can't in a weekly 12 page manga.

And hey if the series ever gets a second season I'm sure they can tie it back into canon territory

Will there be the second season for this anime?

If not - here is the question for people who read already manga: How is the story later on? No spoilers. I just want to know if the biggest mystery was already revealed (how this all Shadows House works) or more is to come? Are you still surprised & enjoy the storyline?

Tense episode where I didn't expect the brainwash spell on Lou and Ricky to be broken that easily as Emilico and Shaun had to struggle quite a bit with it.

saw that voice trap a mile away. i'm confused on why ricky and lou's brainwashing was so easily reversed... john had to beat the living crap out of shaun and emilico had to drink her body weight's worth in water to flush out the soot. does patrick actually have a thing for emilico? it's grey but there seems to be something i'm picking up, or it's just my imagination.

And Boom... the spell broke. Kinda hilarious but okay anyways no need to stick up to things which aren't much necessary.

The whole tension throughout the episode had me on edge the whole time, and then that cliffhanger.. really a worthy penultimate episode.

The way Ricky and Lou went back to themselves just like that really baffles me I'm sorry but I can't take it seriously, it's just ridiculous xD right after they spent the last episode explaining how water is the cure and how powerful the spell is... just for them to completely ignore it 1 episode later???? lmao

Time for finale bro.

Man this series is quite edgy.

I am interested in the mini boota shadow in there too. And soot outta the grave?

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

whole episode is an original anime plot so will ep13 I guess.

The most problematic issue with this episode is that it broke the fundamental rules of the house. From the manga, it is stated that the adults cannot visit the children building and vice versa under any circumstances except with the approval from the grandfather. Even Edward as the manager of the children is not exempted from the rule and all he can do is give orders to the star-bearers through the bridge connecting the buildings. In this episode, Edward goes against the very rule given by his beloved grandfather which doesn't make any sense at all. Also, the risk of getting caught and losing his chance to be promoted is so high which makes him more like an idiot than anything.

Secondly, the brainwashing is undone through extreme methods as seen with emilyco and shaun but somehow it was dispelled through a few words with lou and ricky,

One word to describe this episode: Convenient

Even in such a situation, I couldn't help laughing every time John proposed to destroy something, he's taking the shounen OP protagonist route, while Shaun is the voice of the reason taking the side of the people who point out of crazy that is lol.

The "dolls" were made to drink the spiked coffee before they started serving their masters too, not just during the debut celebration. The effects aren't permanent, and weaken over time. That's why Lou and Ricky's brainwashing was dispelled easily, since more time had passed than when Emilico and Shaun were cured. I don't remember the anime ever implying the brainwashing effect of the coffee lasts forever either.

It was difficult to take that interrogation scene seriously. I expected Edward to physically torture Emilico, or threaten Kate through blackmail much eariler than he did.
