Sure, at one point in life you simply won't have the same amount of time to pursue your hobbies, but stop concerning yourself with the thought of giving up things like anime for good. It might seem weird in 2020, but 50 years later there will be millions of 70 year old weebs.

Can't wait to rewatch One Piece with my pals from retirement home.

No, it’s entertainment. Plus there’s always manga and anime being made for older demographics.

Sorry to break it to you but you're the prime age demographic for anime. Try making this thread again in 20 years.

Age is just a number.
As long as you enjoy watching anime, age doesn't matter.
Continue to do what you enjoy doing.

I think anime is something you can enjoy for life, occasionally come back to it. Just like live-action TV, just a part of the entertainment arsenal.
Keep it simple, stupid.

I used to think like that too, but i realized if you like something it doesn't matter what your age is, i will keep on watching till i get sick of it, or when it doesn't entertain me anymore, simple.

Well there is no age to enjoying something,is it?
About your question,no.Priorities might come and go but I am sure we would love to enjoy those moments of anime that we lived through our childhood/teenage whenever we get free time

There are plenty of adults older than that who still enjoy animated movies and cartoons in general, so I don't see the problem....Hell, a lot of my all time favorite shows are cartoons and I'll still go back and watch them from time to time. Animation isn't just for kids...There are plenty of adult cartoons and even more adult anime. Also..look at how popular super hero movies have been...There are a lot of people who would write those off as childish and only for kids but there's also a huge fanbase of adults who couldn't give two shits about that stigma. And there's so many other examples I could give of this..Like the recent Sonic movie, but I've already made this shit long enough...

I don't think there is a age limit for anime. It's just a type of entertainment, any age group can like anime and it doesn't matter what others think as long as you enjoy it.

Noe. I'm pretty young and when I see older people being into it as much as I am, I don't think anything of it. To me anime is like movies or tv shows. If your 60 you can still watch Madmax or Breaking Bad. People may consider anime cartoons, but what does it matter? If you're going to quit a hobby because of what others think of you, idk what to tell you

Why would I quit watching things that I like? I would stop watching it when I lose all interest. And even then, I might pick up an anime show or a movie once in a while.

Life is short, time is your most valuable resource, you shouldn't waste it on trying to enjoy what others think you should enjoy, you should spend it doing the things you love

But hey maybe I'm a little biased cause I know a lot of people my age who like anime

Same! I didn't even really 'get into' watching until I was in my late 30's. I have no problem with it at all, and I even dig the cutesy stuff. Society's decisions on what is 'acceptable' as an 'adult' is laughable. Experience what you love, to hell with what others think. Especially when those that mock anime viewers are the same ones that cannot miss an episode of the Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, Bob's Burgers, Futurama, or Rick and Morty.

Stay young (or at least young at heart) yall!

I love these threads from kids in their 20s who think life ends at 30. Shit just gets started at 30. You not only still have hobbies, you now have that sweet mid-career paycheck to indulge in them.

Your life your choice
If you wanna quit anime cause you believe your time is up, nothing wrong with that
There's countless other things to do, I suppose you could binge sitcoms and other "adult" media

Personally I have more time and opportunity now I'm older, I'm making more progress with things like anime than I ever could before.

It doesn’t even matter what age people are into anime. If people still watch anime even if they get older then heck yeah! There’s no such thing as an age limit to watch anime.

You shouldn't quit something just because of your age. Anime is an entire medium of storytelling and not limited to a specific demographic.

The creator is this thread has already been Thanos'ed, btw.

I don't plan to quit anime or anime-related stuff anytime soon, at least, as I'm at that point where nothing else entertainment-related, sans a handful of western shows/films, has truly interested me.

I don't think I can say I'm prepared for when I do get really old, but my hopes is to still love and enjoy anime all the way up til my very last breath.

You're never too old for anime or video games or hobbies you truly love, if a person thinks they should quit sth they love because "they're too old" or "adults" then they're just miserable, boring people tbh.

There isn't any reason to quit just because you're a certain age. That's nonsense. So long as I'm interested and have the time, I will keep watching anime. It's a form of entertainment, after all.

My brother asked me a few years ago, probably when I was 15 or so, if I would ever grow out of watching anime. I told him I probably would like anime and manga forever.
Anime has been the one thing that I can always come back to. I'm turning 19 this year and I've liked anime since before I can remember. I thought I started liking anime in the fourth grade... but when I was talking to my brother about it a few months ago, my mom overheard. She was like "what are you talking about, you've always liked that stuff". I said HUH ??
So I guess it's just always caught my interest, even as a tiny kiddo. I don't think that interest is going to fade any time soon and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I never really thought about giving it up because I got "too old" and I don't think you should let it bother you! In fact, as I've gotten older, I've actually found MORE people that like it than when I was a kid.
I know this response is long but just like what you like! It doesn't matter how old you get, if something makes you happy, never give it up!!
dear me

Do you know how old the people who make animes are? Anime directors, sound directors, producers are old asf but they make animes for all ages to watch, anime is universal.
Anime is fun.

*checking in to see if the consensus says I am all done for*

Lol, I'd say don't worry about this kind of stuff. You don't have to interact with other anime watchers if you feel uncomfortable or disinterested in their conversations. You also don't have to watch anything you don't want to watch, stating the obvious here. And it's not like there is an official title you'd be awarded if you watch a lot of shows, which you'd then be strapped of if you only watch a few per season/year. Do what you enjoy doing. If anime makes you happy, that's awesome, who cares what age you are!

No. Why?

It's the same as saying when you're a certain age you can't watch Disney movies anymore, it doesn't make sense. Entertainment doesn't have an age limit. Everyone knows the story of the 80+ years old with 2000 hrs in animal crossing.

Yes, people will look weird if anyone watches an Idols show but that's opinion based.

nice example when I started watching anime my dad found out he watched anime and still enjoys anime just like watching movies. He just didn't call it anime and just watched "cartoons or animated movies" He recommended me all sorts of "anime" Akira, all the ghibli's Cowboy Bepop etc.

So, No! no one is too old for anime but just like everything else at some age, you will not fit in with the younger crowd. Just like older people struggle with computers or don't understand the new generation's music. Older generation might not understand the new trends in anime.

I don't see how being too old for the community (assuming that is even a thing) means you're too old for anime. If you're only into anime because of the community and not mainly because watching anime is simply enjoyable for you, then I don't think age is the issue here.
I probably regret this post by now.

I thought I was going to quit when I was 18, I thought I was going to quite several times ever since, there was years when I didn't watch any anime or watched 1 or 2 only, there were times I felt I'm too old for it and that I should quit or felt like "I'm quitting", there were times were I argued about anime not being for kids just to justify why I watch it at my age to myself, now I'm 28, guess what, I don't care anymore, I watch whatever I want as long as I enjoy it whether it's meant for kids, teenagers or not, yes talking to younger fans about it is awkward and what-I'm-doing-with-my-life but whatever, sue me if you want!

I'd say you're never too old for any sort of entertainment media. Watch what you want to watch and live your life; there's no need to feel pressured into quitting something you love due to aging.

I often get told by my older sister to quit watching these "cartoons" because they're for kids but she didn't even try watching them. I don't think anime is for kids there are shows that could not be fully understood by the mind of a child and have deeper meanings than people who hate anime just for what it looks like think. It doesn't matter the age you should quit when you don't enjoy it anymore. I know that there is a lot of pressure because of the society we live in but don't listen to what other people say.
