| No, because I think the human soul holds some inherent dignity that isn't present in animals. Of course a human can betray that dignity, and they'll pay for it, but it's not something an animal had in the first place. Comparing humans to dogs/cats in regards to their value is unfair though. We've literally bred dogs to be items of affections/adoration, if not for utilitarian purpose.
