Different.

Yaoi is just homosexual stories... in my experience of reading like 900 Yaoi manga.

Porn is literally just sex without a story.

Enjoying watching gay sex may be a bit of a sign that you are at least bicurious though.

Gay people can't enjoy anything with heterosexual people in it.

If you are gay and you like any movie ever, that's not brokeback mountain, you are actually straight. I'm sorry.

Oh, well to answer the original question: no. There's a difference between liking shounen-ai stuff, like from what I've seen Ouran Highschool Host Club and liking yaoi hentai. If you wank to yaoi hentai, you are gay. It's just that simple. Same thing applies to gay porn, I mean you're watching it because you're gay. That's the explicit reason why it's called GAY porn.

It is possible but most of them are too afraid of growing a vagina if they do anything considered "gay". You know, those straight males so straight, so masculine they can't play Persona 3 Portable because the menu is too pink and it hurts their Manliness (notice the capital letter). A kind of frail masculinity, if you ask me.
That said, yaoi sucks because it's boring, unrealistic, stereotyped as hell and even gay guys and girls should stay away from that shit.

Well I've only watched JR (Ai no kusabi doesn't count because it wasn't even finished) but I took a look at the others and they didn't feel that much better so I stopped immediately. If you have something actually good to read/watch feel free to suggest, I'd be happy to change my mind about the genre.

manga choices, i'd go with:

seven days
sky blue complex
lucky number 13
honto yajuu
complex
sorenari shinken
rutta to kodama

ai no kusabi is pretty good, even if it was incomplete. one of the better yaoi anime adaptations out there

as for anime, the only decent (story-wise) ones are kono danshi series (three ovas), hybrid child and love stage (classic romcom, feels like shounen/shoujo romcom)

Is there even a good yaoi/shonen ai that accurately depicts guy on guy relationships in a romantic an endearing way?

All I have seen were ill-proportioned fantasy princes that try to reenact how a horny teenage girl thinks a gay relationship looks like but fails miserably because they molest each other in public too often.

I don't think a straight man can like yaoi. Men in general have very different attitudes from women, and especially when it's between a relationship with other male friends. Girls usually hold hands and are touchy feely, which is why a lot of straight girl wouldn't mind reading girls' love, however, guys never do stuff like hug intimately and kiss on cheeks, so they wouldn't enjoy even BL. Some of them wouldn't enjoy even the TINIEST hint of shounen ai when it's shown in a none shounen ai anime.

yo i see guys smacking each others' butts as a joke all the time or giving greeting hugs, that's pretty touchy feely enough LOL. i think guys are just so adamant against it bc of the whole 'no-homo' thing. my straight-af friend tried ten count (before it got rly nsfw) and he actually thought it was interesting.

I read shitload amount of yaoi manga, and it has nothing to do with my sexuality. Mainly because yaoi manga has a stronger range of genres and subjects it covers, whereas yuri seems regulated to the "boarding school ghetto", mainly because of the pervading notion that persists to this day that the only reason a girl could be attracted to another girl is because there are no men around. The girl's sexuality is still orbiting around men, it's just that she was treated cruelly by them and seeks "immature" solace with another woman. At least yaoi deals with the concept of girlfriends and societal disapproval, even if it's in the most general sense of "but we're two guys".

I don't understand. Guess I'll take this seriously.

"Yaoi is a Japanese genre of fictional media focusing on romantic or sexual relationships between male characters"

Going by this definition, it isn't porn but a romance story. If we simplify it further, we can ask the question "can a man enjoy a story about two men in a romantic relationship", which would be yes.

In fact, it should be more about proving why a straight male could never enjoy such media, rather than asking could any enjoy it. That seems much more baseless to me.

... Yeah that doesn't really make sense m8

It's like asking if lesbians like dick... they don't. That's why they're lesbians.

I think the only manga with Yaoi I liked was MW by Tezuka, but yeah he's the god of manga and all that. Yaoi stories in general just tend to be really contrived and rapey.

Well if you're gonna go with that, I guess the only yaoi, I've enjoyed is MW, but that was written by the god of manga himself.

I tend to dislike romance in general, I don't see how making it a romance with two dudes suddenly makes it better. I don't mind if there is yaoi or gay stuff somewhere in the story or some characters happen to be gay. I watch a lot of T.V series (Spartacus, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story) where they have implied gay sex and I don't care, cause it's not the main focus and its' not what I'm watching those shows for. Why would I go out of my way to watch/read a story that focuses on something I don't care about?

No they can't. If a "straight" guy says he likes yaoi, he's not entirely straight. He must be at least bisexual. Why would a straight guy like to see two men making out? Same reason why I wouldn't watch yuri. I'm simply not interested.
Can they watch yaoi? Of course they can. But between 'watching' and 'liking' there's a damn huge distance.
