| visuals just as solid as the first episode and the choreography was neat as well. edward gives me snape vibes lol. bros hating on will's motivation to reach the top, but i'm all for it. i like how they addressed the no magic vs magic in this, was more interesting compared to similar shows. edward awarding only 5 credits after nearly killing him is diabolical though. lmao, five percent pleasure fifty percent pain and a hundred percent reason to remember the name |

@phantomfandom Rosti is a male. It sounded like a female seiyuu to me as well, which makes me think that the most likely explanation is the fan theory surrounding him.

| Will is such a sweet kid. I was actively rooting for him during the fight with his teacher and I was so happy when he was able to scratch the teacher. I really hope that now he understands how strong our boy is. He also confessed his love for Elfaria which was cute and from the ED, it looks like she loves him just as much. Great episode. Nice OP and very cute ED. Can't wait for more of this and meet new characters. It looks like there are many characters that are fond of Will. Doesn't surprise me tbh. |

| I get that Edward doesn't care about Will at all, but making him take the test without his sword is just low. It's the equivalent of making a magic user take the test without their wand, of course they will fail. I wish someone would have called Edward out for that bs! Aside from that it was another amazingly animated episode!! The quality of this anime is just top notch 👌 |

| I really like the lighting in this show. It's honestly amazing how much a difference it makes in scenes where they're simply walking or talking. Also liked the opening song when the chorus joined in. |
| It's been very interesting to witness a season filled with very well animated shows, and I had my concerns about the consistency of the visual quality after last episode, but while this episode didn't pack as much of a punch in that regard, I'm glad the quality is still on the high side. Writing-wise, not expecting anything really standout here, but at the very least, I do hope it gets going and does something intriguing, because right now, it has been very "by-the-book" in terms of this type of genre. My expectations have been tempered, but I hope it can impress me at least a little bit. |

| Which student with magic could have passed that test? They all would've gotten their asses kicked. If his familiar hadn't of gone to the lockers Ed would have killed Will. WTF kind of teacher steps on a student? I hope we see Ed fight again and get served badly. |
| Beautifully executed, the smooth seamless transition between CGI to 2D like in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. It's great to see the manga come to life in anime. So far so good, nothing skipped as of yet. |

| Animation was not as good as in the first episode, but if the rest of the show is like in this episode, I'll be happy. Also, there was some good OST. |
| Actually, I'm going to have a difference in opinion and say that Professor Edward is portrayed well. I don't think he's necessarily being mean to Will specifically. He doesn't seem like a bad guy but rather driven by his standards of what it means to be a Magia Vander. I mean it's almost written by definition that one needs to be able to use magic since it contains the word magia. Silly example but it's like trying to become idk the greatest blacksmith but you have no actual ability to forge weapons. And then imagine your whole life goal is to receive the title. You strived for it and get knocked back down only to find that someone who can't use magic wants to become one. It's making light of one's ambitions and efforts. Edward seems like a well-written character for now. I think his actions are completely justified. AND it's clear he held back and made it somewhat fair by using only 2 spells although they were powerful as he had explained, it's better to perfect a few spells than to know a bunch that haven't been mastered. |

| Glad to say the animation team is still cooking with this show. Another simple episode but a solid one. You have the jerk dark magic teacher Edward fight Will himself to prove to himself that Will should be allowed to stay here. You have him reading history and getting inspired by his possible dwarf relatives. Looks like next episode we will see Will's roomate and another new character. Like how they're drip feeding us characters like with Head Master this episode. |
| The teacher Edward should be the one expelled from the school. It's one thing to schedule a test, but another to conduct that test with no warning and no allowance for the other to be ready or anything. And while it's not something he would know, once Will had his sword, Edward apparently had zero chance of winning. On a positive note, both the OP and the animation are fantastic. |

| Honestly who's to say he doesn't actually have magic? Maybe his super strength is just physical enhancement, and it's just that no one else in their society has used magic in that way at that point in time. Makes more sense then "tiny dudes just ridiculously strong". The story/show at this point is so early on there's multiple routes they could take it. The dude could even end up being part dwarf or something since it mentioned the 1 dwarf fought like him. |
| very good episode, I like knowing that he didn't defeat the teacher, but rather just completed the task, but I'm disappointed that only after receiving the sword, he manages to get stronger, I think he would be able to develop more even without the sword, but the ep was good |

| Am I the only one who thinks it's terrible writing for Will not to have any weapon for a battle against Ed? That doesn't even make sense, whether he could use magic or not he should have at least any weapon... |
