Funny how Armoured Titan didn't win Best Villain, or Mikasa Ackerman didn't win Best Girl, or Levi didn't win Best Boy etc. As for third season, which is adapting the Uprising arc I think, I heard that it's politics-heavy, and that it's going to turn a lot of people off from the show, so I doubt it'll win anything next year either. The next arc will indeed be fairly focused on characters and politics, so it might filter out an even bigger portion of the fanbase. If it ends up being two cour it might bring some of the hype back, but it'll never be like 2013 again. |

| As much as I liked Made in Abyss' score... Sukasuka was best 2017 score, not made in Abyss. But hey, I guess we should be happy that it didn't go to my hero academia as well... I think the demographics list for Crunchy is now 55/45. Anything more than 15% economically matters and we were for a while, considered only 20% of the audience. But, if you haven't noticed, the stuff that typically wins, has a large amount of female fans. A big reason why an anime like Yuri on Ice can sweep a single year is that women don't have as many anime directed at them every year. So, while your votes will all be split, women are more likely to vote for the same anime. :P -additional fun facts, more anime directed at women are being made now than ever because of Crunchyroll. "There are more female-oriented shows in Japan these days, as women spend more money on anime-related events, which are an increasingly important source of revenue." I will say this, there are more women at my local con than men, and more women than men cosplay period. And I always see more women walking out with huge bags of stuff from merch. |

So, I did watch a good amount of content. Usually your favorite anime also has your favorite OP and your favorite characters. It really isn't that unusual. I mean, Boku no Hero Academia is pretty enjoyable when you consider it is filling the space once held by Naruto. And Naruto and Boku no Hero are pretty similar. I say, let people just enjoy what they enjoy. Whatever the big battle shounen is, it will probably win out over something like Rakugo. Which Rakugo was robbed last year too by Erased. XD I mean, I know and maybe you know Rakugo is a better drama, but Erased was way more popular and less people watched Rakugo. And no, people do not have time to watch every anime. Also, demographically, Crunchyroll is a space that is pretty filled with people who actually pay for anime. So, in the end, something like Boku no hero, which is commercially successful do to mass appeal, will always win on a paid site. Vs. Made in Abyss which though won anime of the year, was not even available on Cruncyroll. |
