I mean sure the ending was underwhelming, and Kamui's entire plan fell short in the finale, but Akane was more than a decent protagonist, and it was an interesting ride. C'mon y'all gotta admit the barricade scene, where everyone was running and exploding from dominator shots was pretty intense.

For everyone who hated this season and are expecting the movie to be good, what makes you think it will be? Urobutcher didn't pen this season but he must have greenlighted it for it to serve as a set up for the movie. I wouldn't be as optimistic.

The second is that they managed to destroy Akane’s character. Akane in season one was a rare gem of a female MC – she was able, active and she had her own goals, that were more important to her than romance. In this season, despite several good moments, she is turned into a “chosen one”, practically – into a Mary Sue. She seems passive – she doesn’t evolve, she is not a driving force behind the plot anymore – instead she just sits at the center, while males act, claiming to be “inspired” by her, “admire” her or simply find her special. I don’t mean that she isn’t special or that admiration is a bad thing, but I’ve seen stories like that and it’s always the same. Being strong willed becomes not too different from having a nice butt – a mean to attracts partners. It’s not that I look for ways to invoke SJW logic, especially when discussing anime, especially on MAL, but this really reeks of a bad shoujo romance (they even had a duel because of her, and that last Kamui’s glance “look, I am dying for you!”, ugh…). Not to mention that whenever she was in doubt she invoked a ghost of Kamui, cause she of course can’t decide by herself. I wanted to prevent arguments by admitting that she was an important actor in the last scenes, where she tried to not get Kamui, Tougane or Sybil killed before judging them properly, but then I remembered that it didn’t amount to anything, since guys decided to sort it out between men… I could stand it done to almost anyone but Akane. She was free from all this stereotypes, and that made her a very precious, very valuable character. Or more precisely used to make.

Just like the moe witch hunt, is it the new fashionable thing to hate Psycho-Pass 2 without giving any good reasoning beyond subjective complaints? From the plot-twists to the plot-points to the philosophy, it's all just opinionated nit-picking as far as I can tell (or a lack of understanding).

Honestly, if this series gets a 4 or 5 like other people have mentioned, I would really love to know what judging criteria you guys use and how on Earth any other show on MAL can get above a 3.

Please, someone give good, clear reasoning as to why this series deserves a hyperbolic rating like a 1 that's not a one word post.

GINOZA: I know the writers joked that if they ever did another Psycho Pass that it might as well be called "Ginoza Pass" (because so many MCs died). I WOULD HAVE LOVED THAT. Tons of Ginoza screen time and character development would have been fantastical! That's right. I said FANTASTICAL. A whole season with Ginoza focus would have been amazing. There is SO MUCH they could have done with his character. Instead we got "Whatevs Ginoza"; a lackluster character who shows up for 5 seconds of screen time here and there to deliver overly obvious lines. NO. NOBUCHIKA IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT. I don't even feel like he was a MC in s2.

Psycho-Pass season 1 and 2 is the perfect example on why the story is the most important. Story is king. The animation, music and effects are created revolving around the story but never the other way around.

That is by no mean Psycho-Pass season 2 is a fail show but definitely no masterpiece when compared to season one.

And for those who come to the episode 11 thread and start asking why do people hate PP2 so much - people are discussing it since the series started so go and read the previous threads, don't expect we will write them exclusively for you again. People wrote their asses off in order to discuss in the previous threads, no one gave a fuck, ignored them, and now suddenly everyone is interested in their reasons.

It's obvious that this season is worse tan the first one, but I have to say that is better than I thought, knowing that different people was involved in this second season.

It seems, seeing the last words of Akane, that the last scenario of Psycho-Pass will be Kougami vs Akane & Sybil. It would be EPIC.
