Runge is now officially obsessed. He no longer listens to objective reasoning.

And I loved Dr. Reichwein's dossiers of distinguished personalities who have been his patients. Wim Wenders, Werner Herzog and Natasja Kinski amongst others.

I have to say, I somewhat like Lunge now. He's just so manipulative, it's cool XD I don't know how he still suspects Tenma though. Must be his pride.

And wow, Johan's face always makes me jump >.<

I can't explain why but he has some sort of appeal that makes his character cool.

Even tho Gillen gave a good statement about why Tenma's not the killer, and even though he analized every single aspect and characteristics of the personality of Runge in front of his eyes... HE JUST WONT GIVE UP. Jesus mother fucking Christ, Runge pisses me off really hard. I hate that kind of personality.

This!!!

I hope he dies by Johan's hand realizing he was wrong! ¬¬

Yeah runge should have listened, his personality was spot on by Gillen, which is why I'm not sure why Gillen told him where Tenma was, he should have known that one picture wouldn't be enough to change Runge's mind... Oh well.

Man, Gillen couldn't have hit the nail on the head any better with Lunge. That guy is stubborn as hell. When Lunge said he was going to find Johan I thought, "Good, maybe the little bastard will make you jump off a roof too."

Oh, and shame on you Gillen, for letting that nut know where Tenma was.

Nice episode and Lunge. :3

About Episode:

I feel bad for dieter that he reall cares about Tenma and don't want to be his becoming Monster too. But fact is Johan is bad man and bad man has to be erased from world. So I understand why Tenma has rage for Johan.

Looks like Dr. and Rudy has same kind of thinking system like they understand others feelings and thoughts.

Also about Lunge and Rudy's talk it's good that now Rudy explained that he needs to stop thinking about Tenma is suspect but Innocent.

Also now when Lunge saw Johan's picture I am pretty sure he only tries to catch up with Tenma and he wants to heard Tenma to more information about Johan. It's also true that Lunge have never ever made mistakes because that shaking hand device. But now when someone mentioned that he is doubtful which is why I think he will help Tenma.

I wonder when is Lunge going to realize that even he can make a mistake. But at least he got some evidence that proves that Johann does exist and Tenma is not delusional.

I can see why people hate Lunge but I'm not really one to dislike characters too much. Without Lunge, it wouldn't be as epic anyways. I like his tenacity.

One thing I thought was lame in this episode was how Rudy actually fell for it and gave up Tenma's location. Then again, he does want Tenma to fight for his innocence and doesn't want him to kill so him getting caught could help him.

Second time watching this series and loving it.

Another great episode!

Did you know that all of the other case files that Dr. Reichwein had when he was looking for "Richard D. Braun's" were all of real German actors and directors? What a different cameo!
Now, the only one I recognized without looking each one up was Werner Herzog, and after knowing more about him, it wouldn't surprise me if he did seek counseling. :P

another amazing episode(despite being slow)

shame they didn't show how Tenma and Reichwein escape from Roberto.

and wow Tenma is getting more and more depress as more episodes comes by :P

tbh i don't know why you people hating on Lunge. he's just a persistent person who wants to be right.

plus he's also calculative and when he sets his sights on a target he never let's go.

he doesn't care if Tenma is innocent, he just want to point an evidence that he did a crime so he could arrest him.

Gillet is also smart since he's a top psychiatrist and that's why he was able to deduce why Lunge is tapping his fingers like that in a second!

so that's why Gilet is also fond about his casset tapes :P

also anyone find it creepy when Tenma was looking at the TV screen it seems Johan was looking back at him!!

next episode is gonna be intense!

Anyway. I haven't commented on Monster in a while, but this is growing a lot on me and the characters are very well-defined at this point...

...I like Lunge. In part because I can't help but believe that he will eventually side with Tenma, on the other hand because his role as an antagonist to me trascends the simple stubbornness. It has come to a point where searching for Tenma is more of a self-defining issue than anything else, for some reason he has made this hunt the only purpose in his life. I hope this will be explored rather soon.

Lunge is pretty persistent. His decision making and reasoning is based on logic and not based on emotions so from a standpoint I can understand why he has his reasons to keep on suspecting Tenma.

Also Lunge pretty much outplayed and baited Giller into telling him about Tenma's whereabouts. I just can't wait till he gets shit on and the look on his face when he meets and finally realizes who the REAL killer is.

Gillen read Lunge like an open book but he's still stuck in his own delusions. Lunge is actually a pretty competent detective but when it comes to Tenma he throws all logic out of the window.

lunge is disgusting. he doesn't care about justice or the crime, he has made that clear. he's simply obsessed with tenma and wants to not be mistaken, as the psychologist implied. hopefully him being in possession of that photo gets him killed.

But wow! Seeing Johann on TV... so exposed to the public is so weird. We've been following his shadow for so long.

I like Gillen's analysis of Lunge. In the end Lunge outplayed him, however, and is as stubborn as ever. I can't help but wonder if he has a doubt lingering now. No matter how stubborn he is, the logical side of him should have raised some sort of yellow flag. It's annoying because he's the only one who has a legitimate/moral means of stopping Johan.

Still, he is a good as a character.

I'm not quite as sure whether Tenma's confrontation with Johan will happen after that preview.

What Gillen said about Lunge was right on the spot. It's confirmed, Lunge wouldn't believe that Tenma's innocent eventhough Johann confessed in front of his face. He's afraid, he will always in denial.

Dammit Gillen! Did you really think that the narcissistic Lunge was going to believe you even if you gave him all that proof?! Now Tenma's in some deep shit unless he gets the hell out of Munich quick.

Things are beginning to get interesting once again! Oh I love this anime.

8/10 for this episode.

From purely moral view, I can't sea killing Johan is a bad thing.
Execution is well deserved! How many deaths should someone cause so that he is executed?
My feelings is that IF Tenma kills Johan and the police knew about Johan crimes, then he should be considered a hero not a criminal. Then again, that is a big "IF"

Finally the doc laying it down to Lunge.
But god damnit Lunge. Like, for a detective that is as smart as he is, he's not even bothering to listen to anybody, or even checking anything up. It honestly feels as if him been oblivious is just the writer's way of extending the story. Although I may be wrong and this could be leading to something awesome...

Needless comparison ahead: Death Note seems a lot better at being realistic. The detectives in death note are all really clever, and never discount any information. They take everything on board, even if they do have their own suspicions. I wonder... if Lunge had been swapped out from one of the detectives on the team to chase down Kira, there would be a lot less bungling, and more apprehending. It almost feels like a series of unfortunate events, where you know what will happen (something bad happens to the children - their happiness is somehow ruined) because there are 13 books, and every book is standard in that they always end up homeless + ppl loved killed, and it has been written as if everything is working against them to the point where it feels as if the characters aren't actively changing the story (the way it should be) - instead the story is planned, and the characters are restricted to playing out their roles (feels forced, and written)

Loved Gillen's analysis of Lunge, and just as he said there is no way Lunge will make a 360 away from Tenma after all the sacrifice he made, it would be far too early for him to see the light.

Yeah it was really good. Gillen got him in regards to his analysis of Lunge's personality, but it seems Lunge got one back at him with getting Tenma's location by lying.

And it looks like Nina is appearing next episode. I think everyone's path is going to meet up somehow.
