| It was quite sad and dark for a Frieren episode. |
| Frieren can wake up in the morning? About time. On the Great Eng Road, Frieren, Fern and Stark are doing more maintenance jobs, though the red-haired is more sensitive about how he's being treated. Given that elves like Freiren are a rarity now, it's not too dissimilar to the times now. The Liberation Festival to celebrate the day where the Hero Party is commemorated for defeating the demons, that's a memory everyone lives by with the statues, which Himmel has intentionally designed to stand the rest of time. Onto Graf Gramat's domain, Frieren sensing demons that are part of a peace envoy, and one of them (who eeriely looks like Monster's Johan) disgusts Frieren so much that she's being thrown into jail. Apparently, one of the demons, Aura the Guillotine has been waning for her forces on the humans, and thry fought so much, they'd rather seek peace, and that's why they are here in Graf Granat. Based on a past experience, a similar innocent looking demon has the Hero Party and the village chief live in harmony, teaching her the ways to live. But killing him and taking his daughter as a replacement for the one she killed, it's still the same betrayal as before that sterned Frieren's heart all the more that demons capable of speech are deceivers. All the more for Graf Granat facing Lugner with the same hatred, the latter wants to forget war and continue on with peace. Lugner's servants of Linie and Draht following him from behind, the hot-blooded came for Frieren attempting to kill her and lay waste to the town, who will have the final laugh? |

| The town that fought demons and have an annual celebration about defeating them tried to make peace with them. They actually don't but humans being emphatic as they are... oof. People are really doomed to repeat history if they don't learn it |
| Got to know a little more about elves in general, as well as another reason why Himmel wanted all those statues of the group! With the main focus on demons and their ability to deceive humans...something Frieren seems quite familiar with. We've not seen much of the demons, so I think this episode did a good job at showing how they interact with humans. Frieren doesn't seem that intimidated by these new demons, even with the mention of their leader "Aura", hopefully Stark and Fern are also fine as well. |

If they had libido comparable to humans, then the entire wold would have been overcrowded with elves, since they live for 1000's of years and each could have dozens of children within a couple of centuries. So it's probably nature's way to keep them in check. They traded their libido for a long lifespan. |

| Really chilling how cold the demons are so similar in tone to Frieren. Obviously frieren is way different, but she can be as cold as them sometimes. The answered my question about where the other elfs are also, which seems sad and grim overall. Makes sense that humans would not recognize her unless they had met her before, as efls are extremely rare and there adventure was so long ago most people who had seen them have died also so it becomes legend. |

If she is stronger that Aura, then why she can't beat the Dragon by herself in the previous episodes ??!
| @thepath I think she could beat the dragon by herself, she just wanted Fern to do it. Fern was the only one who shot at the dragon. Also, Frieren promised Stark to finish off the dragon if he died, meaning, she could do it. |

| "We're not fairytales. We really existed" is such a great line. I love how much this series continues to give emphasis to the small moments. They are what really define the characters and world. Also it is oddly refreshing that the demons are completely irredeemable. Frierens line at the end was badass. |

In seriousness, one of the fascinating points of the manga was their cutthroat depiction of demons. These guys are not human or even human-like.

| @erikkamirs Nice catch. Frieren's author is very competent in depict the demons as absolute psycho/sociopaths. Another arc in the future will take it a lot more deep. |

| I really like the depiction of demons in this series. Cause this is what demons actually are. They arent misunderstood people that need to be friended and understood like every other anime shows you, they're demons. I'm glad they arent potraying them as sympathetic and it'll be that much more satisfying when Frieren is shown to be correct and kills them all. |

| This anime is definitely the anime of the season. Madhouse is doing a fantastic job with it. If they keep up this fantastic quality of work, I would like to see it peak ahead of FMAB. |
