This scene was relatively good, as Minko describes herself perfectly. Other people can often annoy us when they remind us of ourselves. Her hypocrisy actually makes her more interesting.

Her arc could be something of merit, but the show has just been chewing on the same bone with it (as with any other unresolved conflict in the show, save for the mother-daughter-grandma thing), playing the same shtick again and again without any progress. That said, Minko is still the only character that I've been able to take seriously throughout the second cour so far (the manager is a close second because she has a lot less screen time than Minko), despite her fascination with that jackass.

Other than Minko's moment of staggering hypocrisy, this episode was just a big meme, full of typical high school nonsense that adds basically nothing to the story or the characters. There were several funny moments, but not nearly enough for it to be worth it. Minko's the only one who seems to act even remotely natural (except for the stereotypical tsundere moments), the interactions between everyone else are still mostly boring.

Ohana is still a mere shell of her former self. Plus now she suddenly remembers her unresolved conflict with Ko (whom she still hasn't called), which is still being padded out without, again, any progress. Chewing the same bone, yadda yadda. At least she works as wacky comic relief sometimes.

Lol Yuina is cocky and adorable as usual. Her ego is getting stroked way too much by this school event xD

Minko on the other hand... I thought she had some redeeming features, but she's just really starting to annoy me. She's way too narrow-minded and mean, it's not even cute how she brightens up about Tohru because she's such a bitch and hypocrite around everyone else.

She obviously needs a little more "bonboru"! Anyway, let's see how the Cafe goes, I guess...

Indeed a good episode, showing a good portion of realism(probably why it felt so heavy at times). As for Minko, even though I don't really like her, she was right in that discussion.

Minko's hypocrisy in this episode was absurd. She's being way too unreasonable, this is a culture festival for the students to enjoy whereas she is only participating to impress Tooru, not to mention her terrible leadership skills. I'd like to think she realised how hypocritical she was being once the argument was over which could lead to more development for her. It looks like Nako's class has shifted all the work onto her and the artist which sucks, not surprised she'd rather work at the inn.

this bitch has the nerve to say don't interfere your love life your work and I don't work on an emotional level like you when thats all this bitch does is work on an emotional level.

Tooru in a a place full of underage high school girls? Ohhhhhhh sh...

Oh great, it seems Minko will have her own little arc regarding her feelings for Tooru... well, let's see how it goes.

Uh... can there be anything more hypocritical that having Minko criticizing you because you can't keep love out of your work? Especially since she started acting so enthusiastically just because Tooru said he would be coming to the festival. That said, I'm still on her side about the fight tho, that girl making a tantrum because she wanted to give a fucking omurice (probably made by Minko in the end) to that Kirito guy was beyond annoying and pathetic too. How can a simple omelette be the cause of such destruction? Only happens in this anime...

And also, I have to say the dream Ohana had was unexpected yet funny. Honestly, Kou looks so melancholic most of the time that seeing him acting so cheerful was indeed entertaining... although it was just a dream. I guess Ohana still misses Kou and she wants to have him around... he might still have some hopes yet.

P.S.: Mameji has a son?!!!

Everyone is really obsessed with the omelette rice except Minko. Even Nako, when she had to name that painting, lol!

I can't wait for the cultural festival, especially since Tohru will be there- I'm looking forward to Minko's reactions and how is she going to prepare for him! I hope Ohana's role will be bigger than it what is in the service group.

The dream of Ko in a maid outfit makes me think Ohana subconsciously really doesn't see him as a guy. Then again, in Japan masculinity and femininity are seen somewhat differently than in the west, so maybe that's not the meaning at all.

It's funny that the only times the series shows high school life, it goes for the obvious tropes and cliches. Transfer student introduction -> combined beach/onsen/class trip episodes -> cultural festival. There's been some freshness to the way these have been handled, but I prefer the episodes centered on the inn.

I'm still a bit disoriented hearing Mamiko Noto voice Tomoe, when Nako would be a more typical character for her. Whenever those two are in the same scene, hearing Noto's voice I half expect it to have been Nako who spoke.

What was that reaction from Nako at the end, lol. Same with Ohana's dream. Kouichi in a maid uniform looks so weird, nightmare fuel.

Also, isn't Minchi a little bit hypocrite? I feel like she's doing the same thing with Tohru.

Ahh a cultural festival I like the sound of that, All preparations are set with the group leaders of Yuina and Minko being in charge

Looks promising at the start of the episode that every preparation is maintaining its usual pace, What was that Ohana's dream lol Kou being a maid, They look good in those outfits

There's drama string out the room hope they resolve that quickly Minko's a bit pushy but it is work so can't blame her for that, Nako and her complexities of paintings.

There is something that has bugged me about this show for a long time. It's the same thing that I notice with anime that have a cast of fresh and youthful high school girls desperate for their first love... the camera moves up and down lovingly across their faces and legs and everything, they blush all the time, they always look attractive, and then comes the Cultural Festival- that cliche of cliches of high school romcom anime, where all my emotions on it came exploding out into the open.

This is not really a high school anime, at least I hadn't felt it was until now. Cultural Festival episodes are one of my least favorite tropes in anime. So all the pretty young girls in their miniskirts are blushing and giggling and having a great time working on the cultural festival. Minchi has been asked to lead the cooking club effort; and this is the first time she gets to play a role that she has only observed in her kitchen at Kissuiso. Nako and Ohana are 'doing their best' as well of course (what else? They're perfect Mary Sues in every single way and forever shall be)
Minchi's gig doesn't go too well, when she decides they cannot make Omelet Rice- and everything from there it just plows downhill like a landslide.
The girl that starts crying and acting like a complete and total child and then running out of the room because "muh crush likes it" just thinking about herself; made even WORSE by three of the other girls running out after her because "her feelings!" just unfortunately reminds me that despite my love of anime, at times I really can't stand girls.
Something about this episode pushed all the wrong buttons, all at the same time, and every time I see these cultural festivals with all the Mary Sues smiling and leading and succeeding and having these unbelievably unrealistically perfect school experiences it just rubs me the wrong way in all sorts of ways. I supported Minchi in this scenario, but she's also being a bitchy, emotional, and selfish GIRL.
AND WHAT THA FACK WAS THAT DREAM ABOUT KO!!???
I can't be bothered to care about their drama. Maybe after 19 episodes I'm just getting tired of this show. Too much estrogen for me 3/5

Poor Minko. First she's volunTOLD to be in charge of the cooking and then the others want to do Omurice to impress a boy when their kitchen isn't equipped to do those kind of dishes? Yikes.

Frankly Omurice for a cultural festival is not going to be good. How many have the skills to make that omelette topping where you just "slice and it falls over the rice" like in those youtube videos? It ain't easy.

Oh course Minko would create some trouble with her personality leading the cooking group..

Its still funny that whenever something happens they just ask "the union" for support, didnt know that was a thing

She really said slop lmao
