I was eagerly waiting for a new season and I loved season 1 by David production and atsushi okhubo! I knew it got pushed back for Undead Unluck which I read the first chapter (s) of. And I had no clue about the new release date for Enen No Shouboutai san no shou 2025. And I was wondering about buying manga volumes and starting new season 2. I watched episode 1 of season 2 and found that was a filler which helped me stop and wait for season 3 to release.

The return of Fire Force and this is the third season. Right off the bat, the White Clad is now working with the Tokyo Empire.

Didn't expect to see Captain of the 8th being detained and to see Captain Burns converted to the other side.

Looks like the 8th will have their work cut out then.

FIVE years later, and the dreaded has happened... Fire Force Season 3. TBH, I'm conflicted when it comes to this series. On one hand, I semi-enjoyed the first season, as it was just passable shounen slop that could still be enjoyed. Season two on the other hand... man. A downgrade on so many fronts that's forever left a horrible taste in my mouth when it came to series....

.. Is what I would say if it wasn't for manga readers gassing up this final arc like it's a godsend or something. So I'll try and go into this season with a positive outlook. Kick back up right where we left off with the White Clads doing their thing... yeah, don't ask me what their thing is, what that is, is nothing more than a mystery. But back to the main city, where we see our main gang finally after so long.

With yes, THANK GOD, giving us a recap unlike another certain series that aired yesterday. And would you know it, it's a pretty unique recap, with us going back at forth from the main gang training, with some actual good animation again... season two wishes. But yeah, seems like the main plot this time around is our typical shounen recue arc, with our boy Obi here getting captured by none other than the Imperial Army... and the WHITE CLADS?!??!!

Anyways, that ain't important right now, what's more important is to be blessed with everyone's favorite TAMAKI FANSERVICE NOT EVEN TEN MINUTES IN!!!! This show has no shame. Back to the ACTUAL plot though, where yeah, seems that everyone's just got peas for brains in the verse, BECAUSE WHY THE FUCK are we allying with the White Clad... though, that question is quickly answered as Haumea proceeds to use her ultimate power that she's probably used on everyone so far... gaslighting..!!!

As we can see she wastes no time in gaslighting our dude Burns into believe all that bs she was spouting... and bro falls to his knees. Yeah, that brother is GONE. Back to Company 8 though, and yeah, if it wasn't already apparent who was going to rescue Obi, well, it's more than apparent now, it's Company 8 ofc. The whole of Company 8 for once, not just a couple cherry picked. The whole gang is here to rescue our boy!

I won't lie, even though there was no action this episode, this was one banger of a setup episode. Hate to say it, but great fucking return. This might redeem itself from whatever the hell season two was.

And yes, as per usual, the OP is a banger... and for once the ED is a banger... unlike those last two.
@IzanaSolos As a manga reader I can say that the final arc is a lot weaker than everything that came before it lol.

This episode feels like a really big return, even if I just ended the 2nd season last Sunday xD

Anyways, I feel like this episode really made a great job at setting the tone for the season. It had this darker and more serious vibe, and it seems the plot is getting even more serious now, so it makes sense. Also, it's interesting how they start the episode in the way then ended the 2nd season.

We get to know that the Evangelist's plan is to turn Planet Eath in basically a Star (another Sun), because why not I guess.
One of my main complaints with this episode is how the 1st' Captain just decided to go with the White Clad, because yes. Like, Haumea didn't give any new info besides the sun thing. I'm I really supposed to think Haumea was able to convince Burns to join their side, because she can read his mind? I know she can mess with people's minds, but it didn't seem the case here. Like, for real, all Haumea said "Trust me bro, this is what God wants", and Burns was like "Ohh, you could have said it sooner! Let's burn the world!"

Ahhh, the writing of this anime sometimes gets on my nerves...

Anyways, it's also incredible we were only a few minutes into the episode, and Tamaki was already getting half naked, like, c'mon, we have barely started this new season.

It seems this new arc is going to be that kind of arc where the heroes turn into "villains", and fight against their own. Curious to see how that plans out. But I'm sure they are not alone. You don't need to give more than 1 reason to make Shinmon fight against the Holy Church.
Also, not sure what to think about the Leader of the Church being on White Clad's side, was he always on their side, is Haumea behind this?
Also, can we talk about what was happening with Haumea in the beginning of the episode? I already found it weird in the end of the 2nd season, and it's still weird.

Obi was captured, and the 8th Squad is going to save their captain, not even considering the idea of not saving him. It's a obvious trap to capture Shinra (which, if I'm being honest, gets a bit on my nerves too, because there were 0 reasons for Charon not taking Shinra in back in the beginning of Season 2, when the 2 fought, but anyways),but I think they will be ready for whatever happens.

The Evangelist's plan is to make Obi turn into an Infernal, probably wanting a response from Shinra, but the preview of the next episode indicated that Joker is going to help our man Obi out.

The opening in the end of the episode was funny, not gonna lie. When I found out that Queen Bee were the ones behind this opening, I was really excited to hear it, since the other 2 songs I have heard from them, in the context of anime, were REALLY good (the opening they did for Dororo, and the ending they did for Chainsaw Man), certainly 2 of my favorite anime songs. But honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the opening, but I don't know if it was only a problem where I watched the episode, but the sound of the opening was really muffled for some reason. So I relistened to the opening in the Spotify version, and yes, the song is good, although I still don't think it's on the same level as the other 2 songs I mentioned. However, the opening really fits this more serious and darker theme of this new season, and it also indicated that there are going to happen some sad stuff in this season (hopefully not Obi's death), so it's a good fit for the anime, and I think the song will grow on me (I was already liking a lot more when I was hearing for the 3rd time while writing this post).
But the ending... well... it's questionable to say the least. I doubt it will grow on me, but let's see.

To end this off, I was honestly expecting a more vibrant episode in terms of animation, considering this is being released 5 years after the 2nd season, but the animation was overall on pair with the 2nd season I just watched, and I suppose they're saving the budget to the fights that really matter.
At the end of the day, this is still the Fire Force we know, so I liked this new start of season 3! Now I have to wait weekly for new episodes, was already getting used to watch this daily.

Great ep for s3's introduction. Adapted chapters 175 - 177, and some pages of 179 and dialogue of 180 while switching back and forth at times. It's interesting how they are adapting while removing some stuff that are not so relevant while finding a way to adapt about 130 chapters in 2 cours. Praying to God that 2 cours is enough. It’s been said that 12 eps will be for cour 1.

Hopefully, cour 2 is at least 15 or more eps, or we can expect some type of minimal removal, though I can't help but wonder what the production committee was cooking , with such a length. Hopefully, everything is beautifully adapted.

Thank you for this info! I'm always curious to know how the anime compares with the manga (not being a manda reader), and it's also interesting because adapting 130 chapters in 24 episodes is going to be crazy, so I wonder how much they'll cut.

Not me having to watch a 30-minute long summary on YT because I barely remember what happened in the previous 48 episodes 👀

So-so start. Comedy continues to be as atrocious as I remember it, my love-hate relationship with Tamaki continues as I consider her a shit character but she's also voiced by my favorite VA and honestly, this sudden plot twist with the protagonists' country now allying with the white-clad lunatics + mf Burns switching sides because Haumea gaslighted the hell outta him, really had me scratching my head hard. I still fail to understand the reasoning behind such stupid decision so I hope the following episodes can give more context to this last-minute alliance.

You know an anime had a crapload of hiatus between seasons when you get an extensive summary for intro, with every major player highlighted to remind us who they are. Which I could frankly use, since it's been almost 5 years and I barely recall this story.

My question from ep 1 is about Leo Burns:
Is he really such a weak-willed idiot -quite unlike how I recall him- to really bent the knee to that obnoxious brat Haubea and the Evangelist or did he do so to be an inside man of that cult?

At first I was sure he did, since Haubea's quirk apparently confirmed his "conversion". But that nervous, shaking eye close up when he suggested to fire up the 8's Captain with a fire insect, appeared to sow some doubt.

I don't recall that quirk of Haubea, but perhaps it can be fooled - e.g. if you pretend you believe a lie her quirk might show a false positive. It only showed some thought fragments and emotions to her anyway, not complete thoughts.

Gotta say, while I didn't see everything that happened coming, I did expect the military to be used against the Fire Force. If you think about it, it was pretty predictable. There is no reason for Tokyo Empire to even HAVE a military, since there don't appear to be any other nations left to defend against. As a result, they had to be present for plot purposes, and there was really only one plot purpose that really made sense.

The White-Clad started this season off with a monumental move by gaining control over the Holy Sol Temple. This felt like a move long in the making in my book, since we knew that the church founder was the white clad shapeshifter Yona back in season 2.

It's hard to tell exactly what trick Haumea pulled to make Burns join forces with her so quickly. She is talented at manipulating minds with her power, but she did spend a lot of time conversing with him. It made for an interesting scene!

That post credits - pre intro scene revealed a most sinister plot headed Obi's direction. Keep that infernal bug away from him!

I’m glad that we’re reintroduced to the members of the Eighth Company and we get a short recap of what went down in the Second Season.

Fire Force is back and we start off pretty strong with some light sparring between Shinra Kusakabe and Arthur Boyle, Maki Oze and Tamaki Kotatsu, with Sister Iris and Viktor Licht just sitting back and watching.

It seems that the White Clad are making their move though, capturing Captain Akitaru Obi as bait to get Shinra, and now Takehisa Hinawa will be headed out with the squad to get him back. What’s more strange is that through Haumea’s Talking Head, she was able to get through to Leonard Burns and convert him. Now he’s working for her to achieve the ultimate objective of turning the planet into a giant sun? All for the Sun God Nol? What’s really going on here?

And it sounds like Akitaru will be getting one of those ignition bugs, so we’ll see if he turns into an infernal.

Man there’s a lot going on to start off the season and the fighting hasn’t even begun!

This episode feels really weird after having just binged the first 2 seasons...

Just out of the blue, SURPRISE! The government/church has just suddenly decided to work with the series over-arching villains out of the blue!

Excuse me, what? Like after all the crazy s*** they've done, the amount of people they've murdered, the chaos they've unleashed on absolutely everyone, being responsible for turning people into infernals, and now we're just going to let them walk in & run the show?

Didn't they all just discover that Amaterasu wasn't really some divine thing & it had nothing to do with Sol? So why does anyone care what the church thinks to begin with? Also, I still don't understand why Burns or anyone thinks the Evangelist is a benevolent being worthy of worship & being followed.

Just because this being is hidden away in another plane of existence, what's given them the impression that sacrificing the entire planet will have any beneficial impact? Every time we see the Evangelist, he's grinning like a monster & clearly evil. Even if everyone is fascinated by this thing, the anime hasn't done a good job getting across why anyone would care what it wants for the planet. Some random being tells you they want to recreate the great cataclysm & the church + Military + 7 other squads are just like "ok, well I guess if that's what this mysterious evil being from another dimension wants, I guess we should do it!"

These people are so dumb. It also feels like a "Somehow, Palpatine has returned" moment... as if this show just forced this setup into place out of the blue. Maybe the manga had a lot more leading up to this that explains why this sudden alliance happened.

Really glad to be back with Fire Force. Couldn't believe it when I saw that season 2 aired 5 years ago. That recap helped me remember some of what happened, but man it's been a while.

Visually this looks as good as ever, doesn't feel like a cheaper sequel season. But for the most part, this episode just kind of set the stage for what happens next. Loved seeing the gang again.

Fire Force Chapter 3! Let’s go!!

They really brought the heat with the first episode. I immediately noticed an upgrade in the animation.

Being welcomed with the moon from Soul Eater was a sight to see (now I gotta rewatch it). Then we were caught by surprise with the Captain being brought into custody by the Army…no wait, the White Clad!??? You gotta be kidding me.

And now the White Clad shows up in connection with the Holy Temple?! Burns ain’t mess around and squared up with them immediately. But now he’s on their side?! He’s the worst enemy we could have.

Lieutenant has to now take matters in his own hands to save his friend. As if the rest of Company 8 would run away with their tails down. They’re a family after all. Now Company 8 has to fight the Tokyo Empire. No rest for the wicked.

Other companies like Company 7 should be helping Company 8 with this. I’m sure Captain Benimaru would love to join in the fight. Time will tell.

Edit: came back after the ending credits. OBI IMPLANTED WITH AN INSECT!? BURNS WTF!! He must be saved at all costs!!

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO WERE FINALLY BACK AFTER FIVE LONG YEARS MAN IM SO HAPPY I COULD CRY BRO this shit means something to me as someone who read the is manga before the anime was even announced, and were greeted with a recap which I’m so glad David Prodction gave us that bc I lowkey forgot a lot of what happened haha but I’m so happy we’re back tho yayyyy

I was completely caught off guard seeing Obi taken by the army only for the White Clad to appear like I forgot they infiltrated the Sol Church and now they’ve merged together since both they goals align with Sol, the evangelicals worship Sol same with the Church so I see why they teamed up but damn I love

That part with Haumea using her talk no jutsu on the captains was fucking unreal man that shit gave me such chills man she really was talking her way to making Burns submit like she’s so cold and cool at the same time man😭🔥

I forgot how cute Iris sounds her voice sounds so soft and soothing man like she could never be mean yk☺️

TAMAKI FANSERVICE OH HOW I MISSED MY GIRL AND HER FANSERVICE SCENES, a lot of ppl on tiktok and twitter have complained about her fanservice scene and I’m so tired of them bc they’ve been saying the same for FOR YEARS NOW like stop watching the show nobody is forcing you to watch but anyway I was happy asf seeing my girl and her big fat huge tiddies again after 5 years I felt like I got rejuvenated by her tiddies fr😩

The opening is fucking FIREEEEEE and the animation for it goes so fucking hard man the visual were full of spoilers that ppl aren’t even gonna get bc they wouldn’t even know it’s a spoiler and the ending song goes hard too but the opening song is what gives me chills bc of how good it goes with this season🔥🔥🔥

Anyway I been typing for too long I’m just so happy man im glad Fire Force is back same with Wind Breaker, this anime season is gonna be one for the books man I can feel it🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔋

It's been a WHILE since Fire Force last came out. I don't even remember much of the story lol, but it's still a great watch. Shit's already going down in just 1st ep. Also is it me or did Burns get converted too easily. I hope there's more context to it unless I'm forgetting smt. White Clads joining in with the military and capturing Captain was a surprise. Lot of stuff happening behind the scenes. Just hope they give a cohesive explaination for everything.

This is one of the shows where I prefer the dub. It's just a solid dub and fits all the characters very well. The animation looks lit like usual. Great to see the show back.

I feel like there were some strange edits from scene cuts and awkward pauses, but the story itself successfully picked up where it left off.
