Hmm... couldn't get myself to quite like Law this episode, even though I usually love him.

Wasn't that great of an episode for me. It's a bit disappointing since it didn't air last week (so this should've made up for it). For some reason, I felt the battle wasn't that exciting.

Decent episode.

Dragging like crazy. Flashback? What is this,Naruto?

Law is an Earthbender, I wonder how his ability allow him to control the Earth like that.

I thought the fight would go to Smoker, he started putting some pressure on Law at the start but that didn't last long. Didn't realize Law was so strong.

i guess it was dragged because they needed to end the fight with the heart scene at the end.. so they had to put stuff in the middle..
still an ok episode.

well then explain why they dragged the last 50 episodes, they were close to the manga many times in the past but the episodes were still not this bad, this was one of the best fights in this arc in the manga to me because it was fast paced meaning they were really going at each other and the anime gives us this crap. If only the people behind HxH11 and Gintama worked on this, or just some people who actually care about the audience that, instead of dragging every chapter nonchalantly, would refrain from dragging the great moments of this arc

OP really starts to drag on lately.

Takes 5.5 minutes before it actually starts, and almost nothing happens during an episode.

Give than I even started reading the manga because it is so incredibly slow paced says alot!

Also considering this pace, and how lengthy this arc is in the manga makes me predict we will actually finish this arc around november this year!

The arc isnt even that interesting to begin with, boring stuff.

I'll just stick to the manga for pure Oda Eiichiro material, while watching only the most meaningful episodes from now on. The pace has been ridiculously slow since the timeskip began, there's no doubt about that <.<

I think they might have had a change in management for this anime. Since the time-skip they have been milking every chapter for all its worth at this rate we are going to be getting 3/4ths of a chapter per episode. I get that they don't want to catch up with the manga but if they add this much padding per episode its going to ruin the arc. They could have easily fit 1.5-2 chapters this episode, it doesn't help that the intro + recap make up like 4 min out of the 23 min of episode length. Not to mention that this episode came after a 1 week break. It feels really weak for something you wait 2 weeks for.

4/5 for this one, although I should rate it lower due to the pacing. The fight was still enjoyable.

The pacing for this chapter was exactly one chapter for the whole episode... just like every other episode since Thriller Bark. This episode seems slower since it was mainly action panels in the manga, which play out in the anime in a matter of seconds. Its a pain, but unless they took the Bleach approach to filler and just what basically amounts to alternate timelines in out of nowhere there really isn't any place to have fillers since the timeskip, hence the shitty pace.

Also, OP used to be 19 pages per chapter, but starting around the Marineford arc it began to fluctuate, and ever since the timeskip its been consistently 17 pages per chapter, which doesn't seem like much but when you're going at a 1 chapter to 1 episode pace makes a big difference.

people who read the manga or people who are just getting consumed by this generation's retardedness

there are people who are enjoying the anime, regardless if people post that an episode is slow in every thread. they say this and yet the pacing was similar in the past.

there is only so much content in each chapter, and anime does not = direction adaptation from manga word for word panel for panel.

they can post all they want but that's just how it is lol

I don't read the manga anymore cuz I want to enjoy the anime. I don't like watching something already knowing what will happen, it's just a waste of time in my opinion and "I want to see that scene animated" don't work with me.

Sounds like you're the one consumed by it here.
"there are people who enjoy this anime", well there are people who aren't

They will have to stop complaining when you stop praising; it's a discussion.

Just because a one piece chapter has a little more content than Naruto or Fairy Tail, doesn't mean half a chapter or even a chapter is enough, because said content is still not enough, yes OP chapters are relatively richer than the other big 3 ones, but still not 1:1 ratio material.

2:1 barely pulls off acceptable pacing, and that is NOT for punk hazard.

Moral of the story: Complaining about episodes is ok. That's 50% of why this topic exists. Complaining about PEOPLE not liking something is trolling, flaming, immature, and plain moronic.

Hmmm...don´t really have those problems as I started to watch them in packs (two episodes at once) and they do get the good stuff right (aka emotional scenes, epic moments and key-infos of the plot) so I wouldn´t actually go so far as to call it everything everyone does here.

When looking at Fairy Tail, Naruto and Magi as well as Bleach back then, all of those long running series have these problems. Only exception is Hunter x Hunter (2012), though their animation budget is a lot higher than the others from what I´ve heard. And they have the advantage of having a lot of material they can put to use. Once they are past the Chimera arc things will start to drag on as well or they´ll just drop the series entirely as they´ll come close to the manga as well.

So to all of you complaining about it, just keep reading the manga. I too have some mangas, comics or books where the movies, animes or TV series counterparts were just horrendous and instead of constantly complaining I just dropped them and sticked with the original. Life is too short to waste it on something that constantly leaves a bad aftertaste in your mouths.
Don´t be like the people who complain about Call of Duty on every site and still buy it every time it comes out. Vote with your wallet, klicks, views - if something is good support it, if something is bad, do the opposite and ignore it.
If enough people do that, they´ll have to react in some way.
Though it´s not like many of us pay for it anyways so I don´t know if foreign online viewers will have much effect on it.

Great Episode showing the Smoker and Law fight. It obviously drags compared to the Manga, but to be honest I was surprised that they actually started animating the' Punk Hazard Arc' in the first place so the only way that works is that they have to really reduce the pace of the anime by a lot otherwise it will catch up with the manga.

The manga is obviously better because it gets to the point and tell us the story in the best way as possible whereas the anime must be forced to drag so its understandable why the anime would do such a pacing but nevertheless, it is still enjoyable!!

Looking forward to Luffy meeting Smoker after 2 years!!

5/5

In the manga, it way more one-sidely, that any reader would know Smoker is fucked.

In this episode, they actually dragged the fight and made Law look like he's in trouble when in the manga, he took him out effortlessly.
