THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Very nice episode! Tears was cute in this one! Well executed teleportation and Guy's fear of women as seen when you see this

I liked Luke this time but will never forgive him for killing Akzeriuth and I don't care the replica reason nor Van's crap! He should have been smarter than that!

I am starting to like Anisse more and Tears as well due to her cutenesssomeone send invites to clubs regarding this anime!

Congratulations on Luke finally getting his balls around to kill humans because he has to defend! Great Luke! You should also kill Mohs!

1.Finally Luke remember even if you are a clone You are different and unique!
2.Tears is cute in this pic!

1

2

In spoiler since I have too much this time:
1.This guy should DIE! So Luke please kill him!
2.Luke is very cute when he is a kid and crying!
3.Excellent teleportation scene! I loved this one and repeated it cause I find anime fascinating and its effects!

Thoughts after subs

Like I said before Mohs is stupid and his reasoning lame to achieve success through the score. He must die beofre more crap comes out of him to poison.

Question Is Daath reproduced well enough or game is better?

The Aramis springs was nice and would be interesting just to find out why that energy flow does push aside the water.

What's this hidden crap of score and access of parts of it to only Maestros of the Order for Lorelei? This reminds of BS religions in this world hiding facts.

Why are all weirding a little due to a replica I noticed that. Stupid! Replica or not living being will be unique as a human being as long as that being is human. Luke should just be treated as a unique being.

I knew I have to hate Van now to death! Let's see, killing the world because your own homeland got killed. Hmmmm. That is more like aliens doing things like that so I ask what kind of sick mind has Van? Punishing the Outer Lands due to Hod being destroyed is let's just say very very selfish.

Does anyone know about the other people with Van? Are they also connected to that Hod being destroyed because of the Score prophecies?

Nice. I loved the action in this episode. And I'm happy that Luke somewhat accepted everything.

Looks like we'll get to see a lot of Jade's past next episode, I can't wait. :D

Quite a good episode. The little fighting scene with Luke was quite well animated.
Looking forward to the next episode.

So, why did they all (Anise, Natalia) have trouble telling Luke from Asch, I mean, I get that they're "clones" and all, but the clothes they wear are completely different, seems like something you'd notice.

Guy has received the 'Friend for Life' title.

Anyway, I figured they wouldn't be playing around with the gongs like in the game, but it's a decent episode. Luke's changes are really beginning to show, and a good amount of development was there as well.

Next episode will focus on the sidetrip to Keterburg, and Jade's past. Definitely something to look forward to as it will explain a good amount of things.

Spa is actually in the late part of the game...
Plus, I don't think they could add it considering the urgency of going to Malkuth. Also, Guy's backstory should be flying at us soon as well.

As for Van's cronies, to answer a previous question without spoiling anything. Yes, they all do have some similar experience in the past that made their objectives align with Van's.

That's what everyone else is actually uneasy about too. Guess when you are used to someone being a tard, when he suddenly stops being one you feel weird.

Also, this is something I have to give big props to th anime in comparison to the game. Luke actually still has hesitations about fighting and killing, even more so now that he has a whole city's death in his hands. It makes him a more believable character. He's gonna be a little emo from here on until he gets his feet back on the ground firmly.

Daath was more or less okay, though the omitted scene makes me wonder if perhaps they really are going to take out the last part of the game... maybe even merge some parts together. o.o

If they need to I think a second season could help finish the story. Or an OVA about the extra stuff.

This episode was pretty much win with Luke's development being done nicely; as well as all of the small bits of details that were shown, makes it a 5 out of 5 this time around.

I gave ep 9 a 3, so this makes up for it ^^;

I do agree with you, somehow I don't think they can finish it in 26 episodes. They took too long setting up the story and the climax of the story is just too good to be rushed through.

I'm starting to remember why I dropped the game: the story isn't the best. It's standard 'save the world' RPG fare, mixed together with a story about fighting against destiny. Only the cast of colourful and likeable characters make it enjoyable. It's a good job Sunrise have made every effort to produce a quality anime by adding in small flashback scenes that flesh out the characters more, staying as faithful to the game as possible and not being tight with the money spent.

Luke's development from complete arsehole to nice guy, much like Haseo's change of character in .hack//G.U., comes across as too forced. No-one is able to change their personality so much that they turn from sekfish into caring - leopards don't change their spots. It's nice that Luke isn't making his cuntish comments now, but his character is boring with him just being an average goody-goody character now, just like Haseo became dull without him throwing sarcastic comments around.

Finally the douchebag isn't a douchebag. Still that generic soldier that took on Luke was kicking ass, all he needed to do was a sword twirl and it would have been complete.

Im not sure how I feel about Luke still- he's not my favorite character, but I think he's developing nicely. I think the previous 2 episodes were a big slap in the face for him, so I think him toning down his high and mighty personality makes sense. I think anyone responsible for so many deaths would find it hard to still be a jackass lol.

One thing that kinda bugs me, I dunno this may no even make sense but I'm going to try and explain it anyway lol. I can completely understand why Guy would stay with Luke, after all he has spent the most time, and the most recent time with him, so they defiantly grew to be best friends. On the other hand, I thought Guy seemed a little to indifferent towards Asch. Even though they were only kids when they were together, Guy really cared for him, when Asch went missing Guy went to find him. Even though they were kids there was a deep bond there. So I found it weird that Guy didn't really seem to care that Asch was that person he used to know and care about- with his whole "Asch is Asch" talk. I didn't expect Guy to go with Asch, that would have been horrible after truly becoming best friends with Luke, I just expected, more of a reaction I guess? Is this even making sense XD? It makes me feel worse for Asch, because it seems he's been gone from his own life for so long, that most people wont even look at his as Luke at all, for they already have adapted to the new Luke.

I'm not saying Guys reaction makes no sense, it just is kinda sad that that's how it is. Ah well, sorry for the long rant, hope it makes some logical sense lol.

I was wondering why Luke had to kill the soldier. Why didnt he just knock him down or run away after disarming him?

Guy has his reasons to be more attached to Luke than to Asch. He actually says it himself: "This might be Luke, but my friend is the idiot down there." Meaning, Guy and Luke became close after the kidnapping, not before, and Guy aknowledges the fact the "new" Luke is the one that he's attached to.

Yes yes I understood that- but I thought since Guy was the one who went after Asch when he was kidnapped, that they must have still been friends. I got why Guy is attached to the new Luke, because there relationship would obviously be closer than what he had with Asch for they were still young- so I knew Guy wouldn't just want to magically be best friends forever with Asch, I just thought Guy would have felt a little more because he did still know and care for Asch before he was replaced with Luke.

Well, looks like Luke is overcoming his sheltered life and is taking responsibility for all of his actions now. These characters bag on Luke for always letting others tell him how to live, but aren't they all letting the Score dictate their lives as well?

Best friend awards totally go for the awesome Guy.
Glad to see Luke change.. but sadly still treated as an outcast from them.
Only Tear, Guy and Ion understand his circumstances.. Mieu too of course.
Natalia totally disregarding the boy she spend a decade of care for. tsk tsk.
Btw Luke fighting that guard was nice.

it is interesting how they handled the Oracle Knights Headquarters dungeon. There was a quirky mechanic specifically for that area. They've forgone all that and decided to steer the dungeon with their style. They did it pretty well. I have no complaints regarding it. They made Mieu useful by having him be a cute little diversion.

That was amusing. Luke's character development is proceeding smoothly, as well. I was highly impressed with the fight between Luke and the Oracle knight. It was very enjoyable, regardless of how short it lasted.
