| When you compare to everything else it seems that ecchi ones are always rated ''badly'' well not so badly but if like some anime get +8 rating ecchi one has just a bit above rating 7 + Every manga version seem to have a lot better ratings (ecchi ones) and those ecchi animes don't seem to be even made so badly.. So I wonder why ecchi animes get so ''badly'' rated? |
| Because people who don't actually like ecchi watch it in hopes of it turning into something better. Then they're disappointed by the amount of tits thrown in their face and the plot, in my experience, seems to always be lacking. It's also pretty hard to take a show seriously when it's just panty shots and boobs. |
| Most ecchi series I've watched have a boring story and the main focus of the show seems to be the main character getting into perverse situations. There are exceptions of course, but ecchi series in general tend to be of lower quality than other shows. |

| Because a lot of the ecchi animes focus more on the ecchi then the story or good development. Of course some good ecchi animes exist however a lot of them just kind of throw cliche stories in your face, generic characters, along with boobs. A good ecchi anime can level that out with great development, story and actually make it very tasteful rather then just trying to give you a boner. |

| yokaii pretty much said how it is with anime and speaking about manga, less people read it and the ones who actually read it, usually read something that fits their taste hence the bigger ratings, also the bigger ratings are because there are less people that rate and also it's worth mentioning that ecchi manga are usually much bolder than anime Though I I think that most of the ecchi anime are still rated quite high or are in the rating they deserve to be, because the quality of the ecchi in them is bad including boring characters and a pretty much no real storyline |

| Because most people find the story of ecchi animes boring and bad. However, I'm not really fussed on storylines much. To be honest I can't really tell what makes a bad storyline, because I usually enjoy the animes I watch regardless if it's ecchi or not XD |

| If you watch ecchi expecting some deep plot or w/e, then you're doing it wrong. People rate ecchi low because a lot of people watch it despite hating the genre and/or fanservice in general. A lot of people just go in without doing proper research on things and watch anime on a whim. I myself watch it for its intended purpose: fanservice and boobs. I rate them based on how hot the chicks are and how much I like the characters. The plot is just a bonus. If you complain about how there's too much ecchi/fanservice in an ecchi/fanservice anime, then all I can say is why are you watching it in the first place? |

I actually do agree with what you said, since the main point of ecchi is the boobs, panty shots, harems, and stuff like that. I personally don't enjoy ecchi because I like a good story and when I want something perverse I turn to hentai, but I can indeed understand your reasoning. |

| Because for some odd reason a large amount of people watch ecchi anime and rate the shows on every other aspect except the ecchi content. It seems counter-intuitive like rating any Monty Python skit on story, character development, and plot but not including comedy. |

| I agree with most of what's been said. I don't rate ecchi anime/manga any differently than any other anime, personally. I rate on how much I enjoyed it. The two ecchi anime I'm watching this season, Dakara Boku wa H ga Dekinai and Hagure Yuusha no Estetica, both started off strong in my opinion. The girls were appealing, and I liked the premise of each one. Part of the charm of an ecchi anime for me is being able to put yourself in the shoes of the MC and just imagine how ridiculous your life would be if you were him. Obviously, people who can't do that won't be able to enjoy it. That being said, I haven't done it yet, but I would have no problem giving an ecchi anime a 10, if I enjoyed it that much. With manga, I did give B Gata H Kei, Ichigo 100%, and I''s 10s, so it's just a matter of watching more ecchi and finding the ones I like best. It's not my favorite genre (actually, it's my least favorite in both anime and manga according to MALgraph), but I think it can be done very well. |

| Ecchi shows try hard to be borderline porn, and to make that happen, they usually have to make up incredible stories just to tie together the various fanservice scenes. In the end, it's just a cocktease with a bad plot, so it's no surprise that they get rated lower on average. |

There are a lot of ecchi series that don't show nudity and those seem to be really good. However the more boobs that you see, the less appealing the story line gets. It had a rather unique idea and the fights also tended to be epic. The ecchi part of it was also good, but many of the better elements got kinda buried under those tits and pantyshots. | Because people actually go into ecchi expecting a fantastic plot and overwhelming character growth and not an over abundance of boobs or panty shots. Which seems pretty ridiculous considering they walked into the show with the genre ECCHI. Or you have the people who have seen their fair share of ecchi and after awhile the fanservice becomes a bit of a bore considering so many ecchi (at least the ones I've come across) are more or less the same thing over and over. |

| Well, I have tried quite a few Ecchi series(Highschool DxD, Do Love me Seriuosly!? & some others) Among the best of them being Highschool of the Dead, because it had action, a meh plot, & meh characters. All the other ones I watched had absurd amounts it is not even funny. I also try to watch them for comedy, but they're hardly funny also. Stuff like Elfen Lied, Dusk Maiden, & some others I wouldn't file under Ecchi at all since that is not the main focus. |

| Personally idm ecchi shows though iv not seen many anyways, but I think they show boobs n ass at unnecessary times to often... I think if they focused on the story and made it good then throw in some shots of boobs or w.e when appropriate then it wouldn't be as bad however the excessive amount of nudity is what ruins it because it becomes repetitive. |
