| I'm wondering if people continue watching school-life anime into their 20's. I'm currently in high school myself, so I can't offer much in personal experience :p |

| I'm 16 and about to graduate this year actually. But, for me it's obvious and I'm sure alot of adults watch school-life anime in their 20's even older sometimes. I'm sure I will! x3 But, other than that. I wouldn't see why not? Plus, I can't really recal any special feeling to watching school-life animes, just because I'm in high school. That would make more sense for the Japanese to hold those feelings. |
| I'm 21 and i like High school related animes. If they have a good story/aren't corny (i loved OHSHC, School Rumble and Clannad, thats just listing a few) Honestly I don't think your perception changes as you get older, because if anything, some people would either reminiscence about their high school days, or just enjoy seeing the japanese culture through anime(like i know we didn't have school festivals and lunches on the roof and uniforms) If animes good, its good. it doesnt matter the genre. |

| Nope. I love anime settings in high schools, probably because my high school years were the best years of my life. It's not always a good thing though, because I'm hating every minute of college (I'm a senior, and to be honest, the work force after college doesn't look any better), and watching these anime in high school settings only make me miss high school even more >.< |

| It has been a long, Long, LONG time since I graduated from high school, but my guess is yes, with notable exceptions. Personally, I can't stand most high school based romantic comedy, harem, Shounen-Ai, Shoujo - Ai, or most magic or tournament stories based in a high school or "elite academy." However, some stories exceed their setting and they will always be worth your time. Just as every once in a while there will be a really great story centering around middle school or younger children. The further you get from high school, the more sophisticated titles will appeal to you. |

That being shallow harem romcoms full of clicheéd writing and poor characterisations, only being held aloft by cheap ecchi or moe comedy that shamelessly panders to the audience in a desperate attempt to sell itself. |

| I enjoyed school-based anime more after graduating last year. It's like reliving your school life and you feel so nostalgic. I could be over thinking it though, I might just like seeing girls in uniforms ^^ |
| I'm 19 and I still watch it. Real life high school is rarely ever similar to what we see in anime so I don't know why we would assume there was some sort of relevance in the first place. |

| Maybe a little. The cutesy shoujo romances will seem more boring, at least. Since, honestly, I partly watch them to fulfill the fantasy of a high school romance that I will never have. (Lol, that makes me sound like a loser. ''OTL Oh well-- other people know that they do it, too~) Although romance anime already depresses/annoys me enough since I know I'll never experience something like it-- after I graduate, the high school stuff might make me feel a little envious of those perfect fictional characters who accomplished what I was incapable of. ... But, I'll still watch high school anime. It's too common of a setting to avoid. And, assuming my preferences stay the same, I'll watch as much of it as I do now. |

| Yes some people continue to watch anime late into their 20's. Easiest evidence you see of this is ANY ANIME CON meetings they always go to. My problem isn't that high school anime loss their appeal, it's that often times these school anime are light material that aren't meant to be that great. |
| No. I've finished high school years ago, and I still enjoy a good school story. The issue is not how old you are, but how high school anime/manga are usually mediocre, shallow, cliché-filled crap. |

| Hmm, yes and no. I don't identify with high school being the best time in the characters lives or anything like that (since anyone who has gone to college knows it's likely college, not high school) or the expectation of any high school romance lasting forever, so I'm a bit jaded on some things, but then again, school in Japan is just plain different, so that's still a hook. If the characters happen to be in high school but it's not the focus, I don't mind that at all, but the "OMG, Hai Skool!" thing is a bit less relatable to me. |

| Not really, they do lose their appeal after watching a ton of them. Loads of anime have that highschool theme, pretty much every slice-of-life. The only slice-of-life I found a bit original is Nichijou, because that's just crazy. It does seem a bit dull that every anime seems to get atleast a highschool subtheme, even when it seems totally out of place, like in Requiem for a Phantom, or Code Geass. |
| Still in high school but I don't think I was attracted to the high school setting just because I was in high school myself. I have to admit that my favorite anime/manga take place outside of the school setting, but like some people have been saying: I don't think I'll lose interest in the anime even if it were. |

| This would assume a level of self-identification with the characters of a high school anime. That you would then lose when you are no longer in high school yourself. But anime isn't even close to real school life in the slightest, so there's nothing to identify with. It's like wondering if Hollywood action movies lack appeal if you're not a hard-boiled cop, or a highly trained ultraspy. |

It's high school. Relating to the similarities such as classes, teachers, homework, sports, responsibility, friends, and various nearly universal teen problems is pretty damn easy. If you can empathize or relate to a talking donkey or rabbit then finding similarities and relating to high school issues from another country can't be too hard. |
