Shiroha cosplaying as a mother is cute. I think everyone just wanted to make Umi happy and even though, it's not her real family.

Again though, it looks like Shirhoa's abilities sensed something was wrong with Umi's future. So yeah, this episode wasn't just all sweet and honey. Umi should still feel lucky that she has so many friends helping her so she doesn't feel alone.

Some big revelations towards the end but i had some suspicions.
I think the reasons why i didn't think it was the case is Umi's hair and eye colours which don't match her parents.
Could be that it's made to look different or maybe she has features from her grandparents or something like that.
Still her birth doesn't both well for Shiroha but now she is here things might change in the future,
Who knows Shiroha and Hairi will grow old together.

More backstory about Umi.

Seeing Kamome again made me so happy, just hearing her voice made me happy. I love Kamome so much, I'm begging she makes another appearance. Anyways, Umi just got even more interesting. Her ability to look into the future is kind of insane, I knew she had some kind of power but not looking into the future. Unless she has experienced those moments herself and knows whats going to happen everyday.

All our theories are CONFIRMED. Umi is his DAUGHTER. Couldn't have been any more blunt, she just came out & told him. And yes, her Mother dies in her timeline. I freaking knew this was going to be the saddest one of them all.

So we finally got official confirmation of what is been thinking for months, Umi is Hairi and Shiroha’s kid from the future. That’s old news since the end of Kanome’s arc where we saw her walking thru the field during the timeline reset. The big shock to me is that she’s been able to go between timelines her entire life, but it was just her soul, whereas this time, she’s essentially been isekai’d fully, body and spirit.

I’m kinda worried this could have a sad ending because if that was presumably Shiroha spirit that sent her to the past, what happens at the end of this? I mean is she gonna be dead in her OG timeline after falling off that cliff? Will she go back or disappear from existence all together? Hopefully she gets teleported back safely and her dad realizes how much she just wanted to know about her mother and spend more time with him. Maybe enough time will have passed there where he regrets not being transparent with her.

The other question is what happened to Shiroha in that timeline? It’s a bit tragic to think Hairi saves her from dying in the ritual, just for her to die as a young mother. Almost as if death came back to claim the soul it should’ve had years ago.

“I’m glad you’re my dad” 😢 man, that hit. Hairi seems to be taking this all in stride, but Shiroha will require some convincing. Hopefully they can get her onboard soon and give Umi the summer with her parents she never got to have. I really hope this don’t break me at the end lol

It’s also great seeing all the heroines come together to be that happy family Umi always wanted. Kinda funny to think she’s seen her dad date and fall in love with all these girls in their various timelines, bit awkward no? 😂 I missed Tsumugi and Kanome tho!

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

Shiroha tricks to get everyone out of hiding when they were playing hide and seek was hilarious to see.
The first half of the episode is pure adorableness between the pool, picture book and little nap.
The second half, on the other hand, is more about the plot and some big reveals.

My guess is they did it so that it won't be too obvious that she's directly the daughter although the only one hint is Umi having the same hairstyle of Shiroha on the back but apart from that they just wanna be subtle with it despite the hints they were given compared in the VN which is more shocking.

There is also a chance that Umi inherited her looks with her grandparents but unless we see them apart from his great grandfather who is Shiroha's grandfather then it's possible.

Which Tsumugi is in this timeloop, real one or the tsugumomo? Physical Kamone or astral projection?

Significant hints that it was in childbirth, but ceratily before Umi could have a visual memory of her.

Yep, not only very funnt, but showing she has a strong understanding of the personalities around her., even though she is so personally reserved.

Main plot reveal at the end, for those who have not been paying attention to the obvious clues.

Both Tsumugi and Kamome isn't physically here as the events of every route is still gonna happen but this time around the focus is with the Shiroha's route but with Umi being involved with them.

Kamome and Tsumugi same with Ao are just having sidetracked with them wanting to help Umi but they still have their own purposes from their routes.

The funny part is Maeda never wrote any scenario in Summer Pockets as he only did presented the concept with it since it was the only one that got accepted but he didn't wrote it as it's going to be similar with his work in AIR and the fact that he was having health problems at the time, so he only composed for the BGMs for the series.

Lmao at the cicada that fell off after hearing Shiroha and Umi's duet. And you can tell Kamome's help was truly appreciated if she got paid with the island's premium watermelon-flavored currency too.

Hearing what Umi's been wishing for across all her resets right after Shiroha decided to quit playing house is such a one-two punch to the heart.

I didn't think that Shiroha would've freaked out as much as she did when she realized that Umi could see into their future and it's a shame that she blamed herself for being cursed but hopefully they make up before the summer ends as Shiroha was shown standing by their front door in the rain towards the end of the episode. Speaking of Shiroha, my guess is that she may have died during Umi's childbirth which would explain why Umi hasn't been able to see her at all, unless there was some other tragic accident like drowning. Anyways, not sure if the future will change such as Shiroha being alive with Umi growing up if they all know what will happen, we'll see.

Yikes I'm starting to think this anime has a bit of a rough production if they kept in an obvious animation error like the one in the beginning just before the opening plays.

I'm actually glad they show snippets of Umi's home life as well as how she came to the island since Umi is a lot less talkative in the vn.

It's a fun episode with cameos from Tsumugi and Kamome. Tsumugi is in despair at how terrible of singers Umi and Shiroha are even under her tutelage. Again, the slice of life scenes truly carry this show with how great the character interactions are in them. The hide and seek game ending with Umi falling asleep in Shiroha's lap was just too cute. btw Kyoko-san you still busy in that shed you know it will get cleaned a lot faster if you let someone like your nephew help out please thanks

The theory surrounding Umi coming from the future is proven true with this episode. To the people playing Key Bingo you can mark down "emotionally distant/absent parents". Fun fact - the story we see is set in the year 2000 which is why Hairi is confused at what a smartphone app is. Umi is from the year 2018 - the year the visual novel came out.

Shiroha and Umi's duet was so powerful that it can kill cicadas. Who needs pest control when you have these two singing their hearts out! XD

Joking aside, this episode was a mixture of fun moments before things got serious again. I enjoyed seeing everyone hanging out together with Umi and making the days feel wonderful and happy. However, Umi did let it slip that she can see the future, which did put Shiroha on edge before she left in a hurry.

During her talk with Hairi, she does confirm that she is from the future, where her situation there was a really unhappy one. According to her, this is probably her last summer loop. I'm glad that Hairi, while understandably slightly confused and overwhelmed with being told all of this information, is still fully determined to make Umi's summer a fun one.

I can only hope that he can deliver on that promise for Umi. This will be a tough challenge for him to overcome and prevail.

The first 11 minutes felt delightful, seeing all of Umi’s hopes in her picture book come true.
Then, in the second half, it turned into something sad, as for the first time, Hairi learned that Umi was his child from the future who had gone through so many heartbreaking journeys.
Umi’s origin story is the best so far. I hope the story won’t start over again, and that Hairi won’t switch to another heroine.

The story seems to be getting more and more interesting and making sense, but unfortunately I feel that the quality of the animation is declining over time and the characters' looks are very simplified, even Kamome is much simpler than in her arc, it seems that Feel is showing her tiredness, it is in these moments that studios like KyoAni and P.A Works are missed to animate this type of work, I'm sure that the anime would be much more popular and better received if it had one of these studios, and it's a shame that the drop in quality is coming precisely in Alka which is one of the most praised arcs of the VN, I hope that at least they take care of a specific scene that they say will be the peak of the story, but anyway if we talk about the story it is getting better and better, I just wish the visual quality followed that.

Oh man the ED hit hard at the end of this one, I feel so bad for poor little Umi. The first half of the episode was very fun, featured the whole gang plus Kamome, just a dang ol’ good time, I really liked the bit where Ao got lured by a dirty book lol, honestly that would get me too. I also liked the bit where Shiroha and Umi’s singing was so bad they killed a cicada, look at how they massacred my boy! But soon after is when the reveals happen, and I’m glad there was a lot more to it than simply Umi being Hairi and Shiroha’s kid, because as it’s been said before, they weren’t keeping it a secret lol.

But the rest of the reveals were very eye opening, we pretty much know exactly why Umi is in the past and what happened between her and her parents in the future, very upsetting stuff with Shiroha apparently biting it early and Hairi distancing himself from Umi, but I’m really glad Umi was finally able to spend a summer with her parents like she wanted, at least so far. But of course there are a few things we don’t know still, like why is this Umi’s last summer and why is she losing something with each loop? How did she get stuck looping to begin with? We saw her going off that cliff and it involved the butterflies somehow, but we don’t have the whole picture yet, but hey, I guess that’s why the arc isn’t over yet lol. And lastly, nice little detail there when Umi mentioned using a smartphone app and Hairi didn’t get it, that must mean she’s from a decent chunk of years ahead of the current time in the show.

Damn, Shiroha is cheating during their hide and seek game lol, though it goes to show how well she knows the others. Seeing Kamome again helping out was nice. Looks like Umi has similar powers to Shiroha o:, welp actually, she has different powers lol. Umi had an image from another summer cycle too whoa. Hairi connected the dots too, then we got more of an explanation on Umi's life story. Umi does need to experience more happiness, our present Hairi seems to be planning that as expected. Hopefully they'll be able to make up with Shiroha again too, surely. Need a good ending where everything is heppy, but I feel it's gonna bittersweet and sadge again lol. Maybe in the end, Hairi will be able to cook a 100-point fried rice lmao.

Well, there are so many hints already so I had an idea she might be from the future and is Hairi's daughter. Not really surprised. Though isn't it risky to tell your future parent about all that? It might lower the chance of being born.

CRYING. Im reminded that this is a Key anime again.

So it is confirmed that Umi-chan is the daughter of Hairi and Shiroha from the future, her ability is probably something that she inherited from the Naruse bloodline? Umi-chan deserves the best, please don't let her disappear after this.
Im glad that Hairi is finally getting knowledge of the bigger plot, though he still doesn't have the memories from the previous resets (would it even be necessary to get it back tho)

Happy to see Kamome again, and she made a picture book for Umi-chan~

@Sheol01 Shiroha's route is pretty sad, but honestly pales compared to Shiki's route. Shiki's is both an incredible route and utterly brutal, easily being the saddest route in a weird plot twist from the route I honestly thought would just initially straight suck.

I'd also say Shizuku's, aka Ms. Boobs', route is rather painful, too, though its ending is more hopeful the entire route is probably generally the hardest to consume despite how good it is due to the emotional aspects.

Sadly, unless they do OVAs or something we'll probably never see them outside the Reflection Blue visual novel (or you can watch Youtube).

Shiroha's Alka, and RB extras, is my second favorite route though after Ao's. Really good. I just hope they adapt the RB extras... Or they're going to fail fans immensely. For those wondering if they don't adapt Reflection Blue's content the ending will be... (spoiler details the mood of the ending, not literal spoiler details)

Correct. In the visual novel the only hints until Alka route, after finishing the other girl's mandatory routes, was her slight dialog changes over time, her age regression attitude, and her increasingly worsening cooking. In fact, until the final route or two it could be almost impossible to really notice and seem like variance of just the route, though it would stand out more obviously if you had skip previously seen dialog enabled in the settings as you would notice such a large amount of Umi's dialog, in particular, wouldn't be skipped changing each route and thus pay more attention.

So yeah, anime majorly spoiled it so hard so early in. A huge bummer for anime only viewers, but it is what it is.

I think the reasons why i didn't think it was the case is Umi's hair and eye colours which don't match her parents.
Could be that it's made to look different or maybe she has features from her grandparents or something like that.

@RazorKrillin I mean she looks a little like kyouko, the aunt.

Of course the protagonist was left as a single father when his wife died. Of course. Obviously. It had to be. Thanks, Key.
