Oh good, Rika is able to regain some of her confidence. Can't blame her after the confession though...it was exactly how I had expected the react. Also, I really enjoy seeing Rika and Nao's friendship relationship in this show. Nao's able to use her skill of glass moulding to boost Rika's confidence. Their character chemistry is so underrated. |

Well Rika making up her mind took a while and we end with a cliffhanger. Her mother was very energetic tho and giving her all kinds of ideas. The glass making part was also funny and it's strange to see a friend of the male lead spend way more time with the female lead. Now i am wondering how their date will turn out tho. |

You know, from all those little flashbacks that we have seen till now of Rika's mother, she is exactly a person i was imagining her to be, everywhere at once, all at once all the time, and nowhere at the same time. I like the ending tho, all that was missing was a challenge letter from Riko, lol |

Rika's mother is here and as previously heard she's voiced by none other than Itou Shizuka. Always lovely to have more of her but a bit mixed feelings about her voicing the mother of a character in her mid twenties. She'll always be the ara ara onee san to me. I do like Rika's mother, a stark contrast to Rika's personality and Itou Shizuka's voice is perfect for that. Always good to have more Nao too. Was nice to see the two of them together. |

Being drunk sure can be convenient. The glass making session was pretty interesting. Glad that Rika had fun though. Rika's mom was like a storm lol. Still its curious that Rika's soul searching ultimately led her to request the one thing that she should be avoiding. Feels like that her mom's been keeping tabs on her daughter though. |

In Episode 1, I thought this was a pretty good 4 star show (out of 5). By episode 9, I’m extremely annoyed by these characters. As someone who has spent enough time around people with medically diagnosed communication disorders, I’m not unsympathetic towards this subject, in fact I love the Komi Can’t Communicate series. But at this point of 365 Days, I’m incredibly fed up with these two characters not opening their mouths and talking like two adults, regardless of how bad of conversationalists they are because that’s how the real world works. In fact this is just dragged out drama writing. If I hadn’t have read the manga, I’d probably refuse to continue watching. |

Come on Rika, you can do it!! Damn, now I understand the men who yell at the TV while watching a football match xd Please, I can't stand it anymore, get together!!! xdddd But then I didn't understand, does Rika's mother know about the fake wedding? Was she the one with the mysterious calls? bruh |

it's so damn slow, 3 eps to go, at this rate we might just see them go on a date by the end of the last episode. Might be one of the most annoying romance animes I've seen if it stays like this |

Seems like some people are getting impatient with this show, unsurprising I suppose. Perhaps you have to be an under confident introvert to really appreciate it as it delves deeper into the inner worlds of shy people that most romcoms do. To be pretentious for a minute, affairs of the heart will progress at their own pace and not be rushed! |

Nao is definitely the MVP here. It might be the biggest threat to the relationship, but it's the one creating defining moments in just two or three episodes. Also, Rika's mom applied the "mom always knows" thing. |
©2025 LaczPro What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway). And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea). |

@Gavinmercer it has nothing to do with being introverted and/or unconfident. She's closer to being an anxious overthinker, but even then you don't have to share the traits of a character to understand or let alone appreciate a character. If anything, this is a pacing issue. There's no need to spend an entire episode to get the point across that Rika is a severe overthinker, epsecially if we're nearing the end of the show. Let's not act like the horrible pacing is the viewer's fault because they don't relate to some character traits |

Anyone else think it was fishy her mom just showed up and wanted to talk? Then when she asked her daughter getting married, I was like "I knew it". It said that they are not even talking at all, at least not since he asked her out. It's been frustrating this has been drawn out so long, I guess people really just want to face situations that are somewhat difficult. I am the type to talk and get answers to be clear about thins. |
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating. |

I wonder if Rika mom really understand how hurt Rika was to not have her around a lot growing up, and the impact that’s had on her development? Also the fact she calls her own daughter with an honorific is sad too. From their sit down convo you can tell the mom is everywhere all at once, but at the same time nowhere. Her jumpiness means she’s never really sitting down and present in the moment with her daughter. And the way she acted when she got in the car at the end was sus. Once again more unnecessary localizations. What was the point if changing "right and left in sync" to "move both hands in sync"? Just changing things for the sake of changing them at this point. Other than that, was a good episode |

So Rika had a chance a long time ago, but because of her mistrust, she almost devastated her suitor (no one talks about the tenacity of standing there for four hours for three days straight before collapsing heat stroke). But for someone who has trouble relating to others, for him to ask Ohara out without even saying "hello" was quite extreme and unexpected. |

Every episode since the first two or three, I think, have been so drawn out that the show has gotten boring and frustrating to watch! I'm also no longer interested in the characters now that ENTIRE episodes are just wasted on "what ifs", excuses, and long awkward silences, and that's a shame because I had liked them and the premise of the anime at the beginning. It started with a high rating with no expectations to now being more along the lines of a 5 or 6/10 stars. I'm extremely unimpressed with how they've been progressing this anime, considering its topic gave it so much potential. |

Takuya also learned from Gonda's story that married life isn't that easy. Some time ago, Takuya asked Rika out on a date without any further thoughts. Since then, the two of them haven't gotten in touch. However, after not communicating for so long, they both definitely wanted to talk about certain things, especially after what happened the night before. In the end, Rika came to Takuya's house to clarify everything. Yep, Rika accepts Takuya's invitation on a date. Good for you, mate! |

Rika's mother got quite the image change from her first appearance in Rika's flashback. It suits her personality, which is the total opposite of Rika's. Speaking of Rika's personality...I think she most likely has undiagnosed Inattentive-type ADHD (same goes for Ohara too), since she checks off all the boxes as far as I can see. She overthinks internally to the point she can't focus on the important things and ultimately never makes a decision or saying nothing, which sometimes hurts the other person in the process (the high school classmate, and Ohara after asking her to date for real)...all because she has difficulty expressing herself due to her anxiety. On the flip-side, she hyperfocuses on her hobbies and interests, namely maps and rocks. Although her actions (or inaction) can make her seem like a bad person as she thinks of herself, she really isn't, due to her personal challenges that are easily overlooked. |

Yeah, I'm starting to get really annoyed with this show. They are adults acting like teenagers. I had high hopes, but with the last episode my disappointment has grown immensely. As an anxious overthinker myself, this is a whole exacerbation. They're both so damn pathetic. Did we go back in time during this episode? When Rika met up with Nao, she asked if she remembered anything about "yesterday" aka the day they were drinking together. During the last episode, it seemed like several days had passed with Gonda's story. I was not expecting the mom to be like that at all. Is it normal for parents to refer to their kids with "-san"? Its sad that the mom's whole personality changed after their meet up. She didn't really seem to care about Rika. But anyways, the rest of the episode really reinforced how pathetic Rika truly is. Gonda's love story >>>>>>>>>>> Watching it at 2x speed made it a little more interesting. |

Rika's mother is quite "the piece of work". (Of course she is. It's a work of fiction) That aside, all the time Rika-mom was bombarding her with convo, advice and gifts, I kept thinking, "No wonder Rika is almost autistic. Ritsu doesn't let her daughter speak, much less ask about her feelings." |

When Rika was saying "Move my hands in sync." I thought she would slip up and get into an accident. Good thing she didn't. Glassmaking seems very risky. Wait, Rika's mom is alive? The way she thought about her in flashbacks made it seem like she was dead. And damn, Rika's mom is crazy. She's like the total opposite of Rika. In a way I kind of expected this after her messages. And what do you know, the mysterious person called her mom too. How the heck did they get the number? Man, Rika's story about her school life is tragic. I feel bad about the kid. He'd probably blame himself for getting himself sick. Just like Ohara is blaming himself for confessing when he didn't really do anything wrong. Rika is a menace lol. But I kinda find her procrastination and indecisiveness relatable too. Tho not to THIS extent... Good thing Rika finally made a decision. Glad the episode didn't end on a weird cliffhanger. First date episode next. popa910 said: At about 17 minutes into the episode, they made me burst out laughing as the truncated restaurant sign to read "ANAL CAFE" slide up along the left side of the screen Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this lol. |

Seems like some people are getting impatient with this show, unsurprising I suppose. Perhaps you have to be an under confident introvert to really appreciate it as it delves deeper into the inner worlds of shy people that most romcoms do. @Gavinmercer Was just preparing to write something similar as I scrolled. Well said. The progresion pace is perfect. The director / writers are social geniuses. This episode in aprticular (but also the series as a whole) also provides basically a how to guide, to participate with more grace and find mor harmoney / move forward in any type of relationship regardless of intro/extro/ambivert. you just got to watch it at it's pace to see. But it is definitely geared towards introverts. i'd argue that most young adults even extroverts have the same unspoken insecurities being voiced, too. It is just a difficult time as far as fumbling to innerstand yourself, and other people on many levels. This is a beautiful Anime about relationships. One of the best I've seen. |

@griddyweeb So I'm going to use your post to submit what I think about this episode in full, as a reply to your post because it was a good example of missing the point of what is being presented IMO. The writers drew it out in order that viewers can gain a lesson in how people might better progress through decisions during an anfamilar thing like a first time romantic relationship. Not every viewer needs that lesson. Also, I think it has much to do with both introversion and unconfidence for Rika. Overthinking and anxiety are after effects of introversion. The description even says both MCs are introverts. . For confidence; She constantly is voicing her own programmed beliefs that keep her confidence low about failing to be choosing to make decisions she wants, the entire episode. It's showing you how introverts think in a general spectrum. Also @ajw215799 Not every introverrt has a communication disorder. it isn't a disorder to be introverted in the least. I watch Komi Cant communicate, too, and she has a legit disorder. Rika is just neurodivergent as most introverts are. Back to the slow paceing, the long pace was used beutifully to show Nao bringing in Rika for glassmaking, because Nao /or the writer wanted to illustrate how a new relationship or first time romance can be like trying any new craft. Examples: When Nao was asking her to blow slowly on the glass pipe to start, then wait for her signal to blow very hard.... This shows us the suggestion that care needs taken and going slow about a relatitonship at first is best so the "raw material" has a better channce to actually take shape. Then, there will be times to go harder with your feelings, but only when the other person gives the signal. Even then when you've timed it, it's still on you to give that "extra pressure" (Nao asks Rika to blow harder) . Then you've got the example of how Nao and her Master both contributed several of their own pieces using their own raw material , to the collection of glass they made- same goes for two people dating contributing their feelings to the relational exchange. Going through the steps to blow a single piece of glass illustrates the need to take steps and pace yourself. Start slow, wait for signals to go faster, build a base, give it shape - trust the other person to be able to add finishing touches to your raw material when things get really "hot" (in the glass furnace) . Lol the Glass making metaphor is def hot, they added so many more layers in that whole scene I won't list them all. Im convinced Nao Chan was awake during the confession and pretended to be asleep to be polite, and easily observed Rika's introverted troubles. So she found a way she could help; by helping her get her mind off things while simultaneously learning a life lesson that she herself likely already learned inside the glass shop all those years. The emotional intelligence she gained from those lessons are likely why she rushed to befriend Rika in front of everyone back when they first met - even though she looked uncomfortable for a moment in her body language. This IMO was Nao saying goodbye to her old unreciprocated feelings she may have had for Oohara - and doing what was right to remain in her childhoodfreind's life. Taking Rika's hand was actually a beutiful public goodbye. The writers were geniuses in how they presented that scene, too. Finally, Rika is grappling about her perceived need to change (change her tendency to turn off her feelings / shy away from decisions) if she wants to be able to be in a relationship. Part of syncing her hands when putting the base on the glass and repeating that over and over again, she gets absorbed, and that is her strength. She then differentiates between being absorbed ... .versus turning her feelings off and hence pulling out of decisional responsibility. This is the first inklings that part of her introverted nature is a strength, not a weakness. And the first inkling that she doesnt have to change her personality. That she just has to focus on her strength more (by letting herself get 'absorbed' in Oohara -as a bonus permission to absorb finally allows herself to make the decision she wants/feels) She just hasnt realized that this being absorbed easily in things she 'decides' to allow herself to strength can be used yet. But this glassmaking lesson foreshadows to viewers that she will very soon make this breakthrough. Pretty hot stuff if you ask me. So much food in this episode. I had to rewatch it to celebrate again Sorry if this is too much. But there really is that much in here. Then you had all the metaphors her Mom gives her at luinch. "Interior consults go best when you come prepared" She whips out a gift - Metaphor-> when you want to get into someone's heart (consult their interior) , well thought out gifts are a powerful way to show you've learned something you like about that person and wanted to honor it -showing them they're special. Which likens back to the gift she gave oohara already - she just needs to realize why she gave it to him. Mom says Then, about pacing out her goals instead of jumping for her Dream. Rika's dream as she has reitereated a few times is "her dramatic tale" with Oohara Kun that she finds herself getting lost in but believing it can;t happen. With small steps, the big dream is won automatically though. Just really have to see what language the writer(s) of this Anime are speaking and then you will get it. I recommend rewatching this in a different season of your life if you can't vibe with it, now. It's top grade stuff. Hard to find stuff as intelligentt as this. Reading between the lines. Because the writers leave you to do that, the message is conveyed in a much more eloquent way that couldnt be done if it was more straightforward. They do drop enough hints, IMO. Complaining about the pacing, skipping to the juicy stuff and ignoring the journey there - would take the realism out of the show they're obviously intending to provide viewers with - so that they might more easily relate with these awkward trials in life. If the pacing and building seems boring and plain - then I definitely recommend taking a break from Anime and doing a reset- cus it's def all there. It is all about pacing in this one - it isnt fluff. Introverts need basic steps innerstood in a slow format with some things. This Anime couldn;t be much closer to the mark. Likely, only introverts will get the full gist of the subtlties, and even then, I wonder how many will really see the full depth of the Art on display in 365. If you read to the end you get my favorite parts of glass blowing scene: Rika at the end of the Glass lesson thinks "I was afraid i'd mess up the whole time, 1st time feeling such nervousness, But i feel so refreshed: who know becoming absorbed in something could feel so good". there's her clue that dating can be true fun, and her strength of losing herself in things can be utilized elsewhere. BONUS (Mega Prize!) Also, in middle of the lesson Rika thinks to herself timidly "Th-The heat and tension are intense" - <-Hot metaphor |

@ajw215799 Not every introverrt has a communication disorder. it isn't a disorder to be introverted in the least.
I had to rewatch it to celebrate again
Sorry if this is too much.
BONUS (Mega Prize!)
Also, in middle of the lesson Rika thinks to herself timidly "Th-The heat and tension are intense" - <-Hot metaphor

@mega_prize I don't think I missed the point since nothing you said about the episode's aim was new to me. The issue is there was no need to put any more emphasis on how Rika overthinks everything (or either MC tbh). This episode achieved nothing in this sense, we already knew how Rika thinks things through. Time is running short and we don't have time to waste on recaps about Rika's personality, almost the entire episode was pointless except for her grabbing coffee with her mom, which gave a bit more insight into Rika's childhood and WHY she acts the way she does. |

With Gonda realizing that marriage with Kaori is still aways away that he's unprepared for, Takuya taking a moment to reconsider Rika is the next logical move. Another call from Takuya, and let another coincidental meet with Nao, is the agenda of Rika, and repaying for the night with trying out glasswork for the first time, it's the first time that she feels free doing the things that she wants to do, even if the glass comes out lopsided. Either way, it's good for Rika to get a change of pace. Rika's meeting with her mother, who is the epitome of busy everywhere, even casual topics have her shut down because she's always dominating the conversation and never looking back at the things she does. And to expect marriage qualities from her, it's quite the stretch that both mother and daughter just don't think alike. The hopeful Takuya waiting for Rika's reply on the other hand, does sure want a response at least, but for the girl that just holes up without replying to the boy that has a crush for her, let alone holding Takuya for timeless heaps on end...catches sight of him to call to a date. What a roundabout of ways for a confession, though this date would prove where the fake couple stands. |

The source who's passing the information all over the place about Rika and Ohara's marriage needs to be caught lol. Though Rika's mother didn't seem to mind much, but hey, she doesn't mind a LOT of things about and around Rika, so it doesn't make much difference. Seriously, her mother fits the image of that typical parent who is just too busy to remember they have a child. Anyway, I'm glad Rika took the initiative. Was getting tired from her constant backing out. |

Well the part with Nao doing glass moulding was heart-warm and how that makes Rika confidence got up. Rika's overthink gave me a headache, but that is good, cause the character is good written. I mean she is a woman with social anxiety. So good thing with that overthink acurate to reality. Rika's Mother seems to had something did with the misterius calls from the workplace. And then the end with that cliffhanger. I cant wait for the next episode. |

Next episode.. how much time can it take for Rika to say "yes". Apparently, that's a mystery. Guess she gets to make a bunch of glass sets in her confusion. Rika's mom really is all over the place. So many things at this Cafe meet up. Cruel for her to reject Ohara to the mom without her even answering the dude. Like she cant dig up the gossip. Massive L from rejecting confessions without giving it a remote chance. The guy from her school days was prob crushed. But hey, she wants to go on a date now. So progress |
