Hello, I would like to know how I should watch this series, there is a lot of movies and I already know that the story of the movies takes place on different times, my question is should I watch the movies by the release date order, or by the order of the story? Sorry if I sound a little confusing.

release order for the first run. If you decide to re-watch it then you can watch it in chronological order. It takes something from the story if you don't watch it in release order first.

Release order will confuse you as first.

Better is to watch it 2 times, so both release & chronologically.

I want to watch all of the Kara no Kyoukai movie's but I'm not sure in what order. Should I watch them as they are released or is there a better order?

If you liked Memento and Pulp Fiction, watch them in the release order.
If not, in the chronological order.

Watch them in their intended order - you won't gain anything by watching them chronologically, because they are ultimately standalone stories with some overarching story elements.

Also each film is meant to add a little bit more to the built up suspense - with the 7th being the emotional high and fulfilling end. - You would deprive yourself of that.

I have to say its not confusing at all in release order, maybe you'll be like, "what's going on?" during the first movie, but everything falls into place really well by the end of the fourth movie. I personally like it when they mix the story around, like they did in Haruhi 2006.
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives.

Definitely 1-7. It might be a bit confusing at first, but by the end, everything will make sense, and you'll probably catch yourself going "wow"

Watch them in the release order. Indeed, it might be a bit confusing but I really loved that about the movies. It's like a puzzle in which all the pieces fall in place.

If you're afraid that you won't be able to follow the story, then keep track of the timeline. Every movie shows the year and month in which it takes place.

I'm interested in the movies for a long time now and I got my hands on the Limited Edition Collection of the movies really cheap for like 30 bucks and now I want to start. But I heard that the movies' release order isn't really the chronological order. So what do you guys suggest, watch it in the original/intended or the chronological order?

Thanks in advance.

Release order, as intended.
If you can't deal with non-chronological, then KnK was probably too much to digest in the first place.

Hope it's to your liking.

Release order. Things are better that way though the first movie will seem a little strange to you since it's not the actually beginning

Should I watch it in release order or watch it like this?
Kara no Kyoukai 2: Satsujin Kousatsu (Part 1)
Kara no Kyoukai 7: Satsujin Kousatsu (Part 2)
Kara no Kyoukai 4: Garan no Dou (June 1998)
Kara no Kyoukai 3: Tsuukaku Zanryuu (July 1998)
Kara no Kyoukai 1: Fukan Fuukei (September 1998)
Kara no Kyoukai 5: Mujun Rasen (November 1998)
Kara no Kyoukai 6: Boukyaku Rokuon (January 1999)

seems confusing but I think I'm going to watch it in release order for the sake of it. But does it make any difference really? Please no spoilers thanks :)

for starters you got the chronological order wrong

it goes like this
2
4
3
1
5
6
7

and no you shouldnt, its best to watch the series as it was released, just dont expect a lingering question or two from the 2nd movie to be answered until the final film

I would not recommend this since it is intended to be watched in the order the movies aired. There is some logic behind that. Watching KnK in airing order will improve your own experience of the franchise.

You i just found that here is more movies of Kara no Kyouka
i read in one forum that this is the correct order:
Kara no Kyoukai 2: Satsujin Kousatsu (Part 1)
Kara no Kyoukai 7: Satsujin Kousatsu (Part 2)
Kara no Kyoukai 4: Garan no Dou
Kara no Kyoukai 3: Tsuukaku Zanryuu
Kara no Kyoukai 1: Fukan Fuukei
Kara no Kyoukai 5: Mujun Rasen
Kara no Kyoukai 6: Boukyaku Rokuon
Kara no Kyoukai: Epilogue(special)

So i wonder if this is right or not... and if no which one is correct then.

Yes, things will get clear eventually. First movie is going to be confusing tho. But watching on airing date is best.

Well just watch 'Kara no Kyoukai' first. Search up the order on Google. Worry about the order when you've finished the anime. Also the anime isn't that great, but watch it if you must

That the release order does not match the in-anime-chronology is on purpose.

For me having watched them in release order not only raised the attention I paid, it also overall enhanced my experience resp. enjoyment.

also : watch it with the "manner movies" if feasible.

I am not a fan of KnK, just finished it like yesterday, so i don't know if this is the right order or not. I watched it with this order:

KnK Movie 1-6
KnK Remix Gate of Seventh Heaven
KnK Movie 7
KnK Shuushou
KnK Mirai Fukuin
KnK Mirai Fukuin Extra Chorus
"People who don't see that anime has changed are either wearing "glasses" or watching only a certain type (and or era) of anime"
"Having a low mean score doesn't necessarily mean one doesn't enjoy anime. Rating system is not a school grading system."
"Elitist is people who think he is superior than others. Not necessarily ones who insulting/critisizing your favorite anime or people who enjoy a certain type of anime"

It's better to watch it in chronological order like this:

Kara no Kyoukai 2: Satsujin KousatsuT
Kara no Kyoukai 4: Garan no Dou
Kara no Kyoukai 3: Tsuukaku Zanryuu
Kara no Kyoukai - Mirai Fukuin - Extra Chorus
Kara no Kyoukai 1: Fukan Fuukei
Kara no Kyoukai 5: Mujun Rasen
Kara no Kyoukai 6: Boukyaku Rokuon
Kara no Kyoukai Remix: Gate of Seventh Heaven
Kara no Kyoukai 7: Satsujin Kousatsu
Kara no Kyoukai: Kara no Kyoukai: Shuushou (Epilogue)

How is that in any way better ?

I suggest release order.

Also, I suggest watching them WITH the "manner movies" - individual stop-motion shorts that in cinemas ran before the film.
Moreover - with film 7 the whole thing closes; the epilogue short (Shuushou) then is a sort of summary for all those that want questions answered they still have.
Imo. it does so in a way that is a disgrace to the film series, so it might be worth considering skipping that one, or watching it without subtitles on (to watch the pretty snowing).

No.
The Novel/Movies were intentionally made in non-chronogical order to add a lot of tension/mystery/confusion in it.
Watching it chronologically will take away a huge amount of the mystery/confusion , which is , in my opinion , what makes Kara no Kyoukai so special.
The "chronogical order" is not even chronological because the Movie 5 is just back and forth in time (Not time travel) while Movie 7 contains flashback from the Movie 2 that were not shown then. (Movie 9 : Mirai Fukuin & 10 : Extra Chorus are also composed of 3 parts each , taking place at completely different points in the timeline.)

Overall , you can watch it in the "chronological order" but it's not recommanded at all. (Once you watched Movie 1-6 , you can watch the Remix which recap the Movies in chronogical order with an AMV format.)

Then maybe Kara no Kyoukai is not for you.
I personally prefer Kara no Kyoukai over the Fate Series exactly because it focus way more on the mystery side rather than action one.

Are you sure that it's just a fault of order of watching solely? It's a pretty strange anime with a good animation and even more great music but kinda overwhelmed with pretentious silent scenes and overall fatalist roughness.
