Awesome fight is awesome.

Seems like things are picking up the speed. We got 1 new character (if you don't don't count Dio as new in this ep), plus some hints here and there.

Now if only the week could pass faster.

I just realized something: In this episode it is confirmed that Casshern killed Luna but that Luna was immortal! This means, considering immortals ARE IMPOSSIBLE to kill that he consumed her............ate her!

This being said I conclude THAT IS WHY he can regenerate himself...........HE IS IMMORTAL!

Thus if one were to kill Casshern he would acquire the material to immortality or become immortal himself!

This being said.........ALL IS BECOMING CRAZIER!

Like who is controlling Casshern or programmed him and why to destroy until all is destroyed???

If I am not wrong, Dio actually beat Casshern and stop him from berserker mode. Which mean Casshern can be killed now?

Next episode, the new girl seems to be interesting to know.

Casshern and Dio's fight was awesome awesome awesome!
And did Dio beat Casshern's auto-defense mode that made him go back to regular Casshern? Maybe he can be killed...

casshern did kill luna which rules out immortality. now we know that there's a way to kill casshern, but the answer itself is inside casshern's fragmented memories. wonder what's gonna happen. and yeah dio vs casshern was well made.

Great fight, some story elements, but I just feel something is missing, don't know why, I just have that feeling. I really like this show so far, but I am getting confused: How to kill someone who cannot be killed?

well its apearant that only by killing cass will the world be saved...ironic seeing as by killing luna the world was destroyed. its amazing that everytime robots hear that they can be saved, the turn into zombies. i wonder whats special about that girl and the old man?

however means there is to kill casshern, if its not done in a certain time, hes auto defence kicks in and fights back. on top of that, its not enough to just inflict physical damage.

What's about that old guy? Is he really just an old guy or he knows more than he says. I think he knows WAY more than he reveals.

Finally, we learn a little something more about this whole Luna thing, and yeah I agree. That old guy seems to know more then he's letting on, but he obviously dosen't want to get involved.

I liked how Lyuze and Friendier intervened with the fight to help save Casshern, although I wonder what Lyuze's motives.

If you've seen the original quite a few plot points would make sense or become predictable with the various paths the writers could take with this. The fight scene was rather splendid though. So far the series is still going along with your average "Sinner becomes the Savior" plot pattern.
Your simple world can be a fantastic place, you just have to know where to look.

I'm curious to know what Friender/Flender is thinking (honestly dunno what the real name is, given that different subs have a different interpretation). Since it's a "dog" robot, it seems to be operating off some kind of protection mode. It seems to defend Casshern at various points in time, despite Casshern killing the people that took care of him. Same with the chick who's sister was killed by him. Are they both motivated to be the only thing to kill Casshern, and not let anyone else steal the glory?

In a way yes but they have their own grudges BUT it can also be that they think that Casshern can reverse the process that he started. WHO KNOWS? These are just speculations and only those who know the original know more answers!

eh, not a bad episdoe, but since this slow is at a pace that i just can't agree with, I just don't feel as invested as I perhaps should be. The animation during the quick fiight was pretty good though, then we went back to the 5 fps normality.

I'm confused. Is this supposed to be in line with the previous storylines or not? Cause i can't imagine Casshern working for Braiking Boss.

It must be said again, awesome fight scene between Casshern and Dio.

Surprised Dio took down Defense mode Casshern, brutally too.

Now who is the mysterious female......and who is Braiking Boss?

braiking boss was the original neo-nazi like character in the original series. in this story he's yet to make a significant appearance. considering the state of the planet it looks like the braiking boss is hiding.

It's nothing to do with the original story, it's a complete reboot, different continuity etc.

IIRC the only time Braiking Boss showed up in SINS was like.. the first episode, watching over everything.

Hmm, I'm starting to get slight Noir vibes. One, Lyuze is the Mireille to Casshern's Kirika, with all the "I promise, one day I will kill you. But until then..." And also, we're six episodes in and with no central plot in sight, though obviously one's building.

*sigh* Man, this episode was a bit disappointing for me. The conversation between "Dio" and Cassh (...sounds like "Vash") before the fight was way too long. Casshern seemed to just repeat what Dio was saying without really understanding anything. This scene should have been cut by half.

And could someone please tell me why Friender and Lyuze helped Casshern? Are they so narrow-minded and selfish that they consider their own personal revenge more important than the salvation of the world? Do they not realise that it is futile for them alone to fight against Casshern?

Or maybe they feel sympathy for him because they see how much he is suffering and just pretend to be hostile? Well, for me the behaviour especially of Lyuze didnt feel right. :P

Man, good episode. A bit slow at times, but overall, we got some interesting information, and a new Casshern-chick appeared about of nowhere, which was really random. She looks like she could pass as Casshern's sister or something.

Anyway, I thought the fight between Dio and Casshern was pretty good, albeit a bit quickly. Luna being termed as an immortal caught me off-guard. This could change a lot of things. Is she alive? How did Casshern kill her if she is dead? What was up with that close up at the end of the episode on Lyuze? Interesting....interesting...

Luna is immortal > Casshern somehow killed her > Casshern seems to be able to regenerate and well, be immortal now.

Conclusion? Casshern somehow took over her immortality powers, thus successfully killing Luna's body and leaving her as non-corporeal being.

You know I just almost made it through that entire episode without my computer freezing up. I usually give up after about five minutes of standstill.

And if you regular ordinary good guy has a rival, his is always more ornate and lives in a church. The more massive and more stained glass there is, the more you're fucked.

Always the theme. Always. Anime has given me massive respect for the beauty of the church, even if I'm a Pagan.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

???
Or try:
1. cyborgs are practically immortal: you have to know how to destroy them
2. Casshern and Lunare are both cyborg-'immortal'
3. Casshern new the secret, thus was able to kill Luna

Makes a little more sense that way, instead of using stealing 'powers' to explain it.

Fantastic episode once again, great battle, good developments and with much more explanations than previously, and the characters are ever so awesome, so it's all good. I understand why most people think Casshern is the best series of this fall (I don't really agree but it's easily in my top5 though, maybe top3).

This series is too slow-paced and uneventful for me to get into. After watching 6 episodes, I'm left feeling like very little has happened since the first episode. Casshern wanders around a dead world, Casshern meets robots/people, Casshern kills robots, Casshern gets blamed for the world dying, Casshern goes emo - that's how every episode has been apart from the utterly pointless 4th episode. Instead of feeling like the 'story' will eventually build up to something epic, I'm left feeling it'll reach an anti-climatic end, with the story only being slow because of the simplicity of a story that needs to last 24 episodes.

I'll give it a few more episodes before dropping it. I currently rate it 7/10, but I'm leaning towards 6/10 after watching 4-6.

Good stuff. The fight between Casshern and Dio was pretty awesome (once Casshern's defense mechanism switched on that is).

Background on the Luna/Casshern connection other than him just responsible for killing her was welcomed. Also nice to see some antagonists arrive.

I'm really glad I picked this old show up ... it still holds up very well five years later, with a unique animation style and the retro hairdos. Dio very much resembles Zero from Geass, I notice, tho I think this may have preceeded that series so Zero might well resemble Dio. The new chick that resembles Casshan and Dio looks like she might be their mother/'creator', or is claiming to be to control Dio. Good stuff, I look forward to how it works out. 5/5 :D

Casshern is different than Dio, because he is immortal. Thanks to this episode, its slightly confirm that Casshern gain immortality from Luna.

Seemingly Casshern can save the world and be loved, if he somehow access Luna ability and defeat the "ruin"!.

No really, someone already tell this man who he is so that he doesn't have to wonder around for 17 episodes more asking himself who he is and why is it that he can only bring destruction.
