That's not the point, index IS the main FEMALE character, that is enough for me to not get all that hyped up about this. If Railgun taught us anything is that Mikoto Misaka SHOULD be the star, not a stupid, good-for-nothing, piece of shit character that index is. I will however watch Index Season 2, I'm still interested in the story, and at least we'll see BiriBiri in a few episodes. |

Usually? Usually anime producers have designed the anime way before it was announced. Remember how Railgun was first announced? Yea, that spring when Index made its finale. And guess what, it aired within the year. Although rumour has that Shana 3 is also airing this fall. Same studio making same kinds of shows for same season sounds little risky, but I don't mind. |

Her screen time was negligible at best. If I recall during most of the adventures touma was onscreen doing stuff and index was back at the apartment, unspoken of unless we had reason to worry for her safety. Don't get me wrong a misaka touma tagteam would be really badass, but let's not give index any more significance than is due. It's like saying the main female lead of mario is princess peach, true in a sense, but she's still quite irrelevent. At the end of the day princess peach can't really make or break the game because she's just a character assumed to be off in some dungeon somewhere and index has a similar situation. I find it hard to swallow that a index to misaka comparison is at all meaningful or relevant. Going with the mario analogy again Samus is a much more badass female lead than princess peach, but to list that as a reason why metroid is better would be absurd, though there are a multitude, possibly countless legitimate reasons one could list why metroid was preferable to mario according to their own tastes. Preferring railgun is not itself wrong, the reason you listed is just a little bit absurd, in much the same way that a review of super mario 64 that dwelt exclusively on princess peach's inherent weakness as a character would be hard to take seriously. |
