@IzanaSolos I don't know what's funnier, you watching the entire season till the end even tho you didn't like it, and now are crying over it, or the fact you have the audacity, the absolute chutzpah to say stuff like that while being a Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi fan.
Either way, you are hilarious af lmao
@StallionXD Maybe because, unlike you, I actually watch the stuff I criticize, so my hate is valid. You're just blindly hating on something you haven't even watched a lick of. Like how are you even hating when you have no knowledge of the series? I already don’t take you FF fans or your opinions seriously, but come on, at least give me something to argue with. Then again, this fanbase is full of prepubescent edgy dweebs who think this is deep but don’t have the comprehension to realize how dogshit the show really is. So yeah.

@StallionXD I got hurt? You’re the one who was butthurt enough to reply to my comment in the first place… but yeah, keep making zero sense. You really think you "won" the argument just because you dropped the superrr cold line, “I’m not reading all that”. My 12-year-old cousin pulls the same exact move... oh wait, that is FF’s fanbase. And clearly, you fit right into that demographic. It all makes sense now.

Ok-ish finale to conclude this poor season of Fire Force. Scenes with Fairy explaining his Gravity powers and Shinra being able to travel back in time were pretty bullshit but at least the lore surrounding Raffles, Amaterasu, Iris' "ancestor" (?) and the world pre Great Cataclysm were interesting enough to save the episode.

Now that said, it was still a pretty mediocre season overall. Pacing felt off during most of the episodes, comedy remained as awful as ever, action sequences lacked dynamism and intensity, among other aspects.
Funnily enough, I would say Hibana's investigation ended up being far more engaging than whatever Shinra and co. were doing throughout the season.

4/10 - Well... see you all in January, I guess.

The scene when Shinra traveled to the past with Inca, and we saw those slides of the current world—it felt like a message from the author. This is our world before it was destroyed, and the world of Fire Force is what remains after that destruction. The scene felt deeply relatable to the state of the world today.
What if the Third World War is the Great Cataclysm in the Fire Force universe?
Honestly, I got chills when those scenes from the past appeared.

Every season is worse than the one before, and season 1 wasn't great to begin with (I thought it was "good", though 7/10)

The 5 year hiatus (?) definitely made it less likely I'd enjoy, remember, and understand this. But the site just wasn't that great, either. Other than going to the orphanage and Arthur going on his sword quest I was kind of bored and confused

No clue wtf any of this has to do with soul eater, but whatever. I'm not sure I'm going to even watch the final season

I must say the backstory about how it all began and came to be was the best they could’ve done after how much of a nothingburger the last episode felt, except the fireworks and bright colours. They really should make it a habit of dropping lore more than any other thing lol. I mean we can kill the kaijus later as well, right? As you see, SEEING THOSE BLACK AND WHITE MOVING PANELS OF MANGA inside an anime isn’t something we see every other day…

I was waiting for them to adapt this part, and yeah, they really managed to give the feel about how their “ancient” civilization wasn’t actually ancient before the first great cataclysm, and in fact felt even more advanced than how their society is currently. You see, if you travel with the speed of light, you can travel in the past.. Shinra had a first hand experience. Really, they ended with a "blonde" Shinra of all things, just like that.

For the sake of cliffhanger, the ending works, but man, they should've adapted things with a better pace. I've been saying this from the first episode, as yeah, the aftermath of Shinra waking up should've been what this episode was covering, ideally. If the next part ain't two cours there's no way they'd be able to adapt till the end. Well yeah, time will tell. Though season worked decently as the build-up for the stuff that is about to come, minus pacing, of course!

at which chapter did this episode end at???

Wow, they must have saved a lot of time and money for the animation of this episode in particular. Lots of windows media player animations and even a black and white slideshow of japan, all under the banner of "artistic direction".

The dude who thought of that is a genius.

I was thinking the same lmao. It saved them from animating so many panels πŸ˜‚

I was expecting exactly a lore drop like this and they delivered. This season was overall fun but I felt like the pacing was a bit weird and it felt like they were taking things a bit slow imo?

Might read the manga since the next season is a year away lol.

I wish they expanded more on the lore this season, The Burns fight was fun but everything except that wasn't that great.

Yeah, disappointing first cour, and so far, a disappointing season. Hoping the second cour of the third season (which airs in January 2026) will be better, but I doubt it, as I was hoping something specific will happen (and it looked like it was gonna happen), but just like Blue Exorcist S4, it didn't deliver. Now I just want the second parts of Dandadan, Kaiju No. 8 and Sakamoto Days to start airing already.

Man, what a place to end on until Winter 2026, assuming there are no delays. Sho versus Faerie was pretty sick, it was a bit on the short side but I like that it showcased how untouchable Faerie is, along with the display of Arrow and Sho going against the white-clad, about damn time someone woke up in that cult lol. Thankfully they saved Shinra but that pillar spewing black smoke upon the defeat of the Titan can’t be good, but hey at least Kurono looked badass doing it lol, the animation went extra hard on that scene too.

But then came all of the past stuff, we already knew Yona replaced Raffles at one point but it was really cool to actually see it happen, and then the Inca and Shinra jump to the past happened. I gotta say Inca was looking hot af there and I’m happy she’s relevant again ever since her introduction in Season 2, but uh… what the hell did that mean lol. I’m in the camp that this scene was super cool even if it was black and white photos, but I’m just a bit confused on what it means for the story, like is it going meta like they’re literally in a manga, or was this just a way of portraying it to the viewer like “yep, this world before the cataclysm was just out world”? Either way I thought this scene was interesting and surprising, and a very cool way to end the cour/part, I’m also not totally sure why Shinra has blonde hair now but I’m really excited to see what they cook in the next part!

And just like that, the new entry into Fire Force that a lot of us waited 5 years for is already over, I knew with it being one cour that it would be over in a flash but damn that was fast lol, I want more and I want it now! But man this really has been such a good 3rd season so far, it’s been such a good time seeing all these characters again and what crazy places this story went. Yeah I’ll fully admit that even as a Fire Force glazer, the production hasn’t been quite as good as we’ve seen in past seasons, but even then it still looks really good, David Productions cooked like they always do, I just hope they really take care of cour 2 because I heard there’s a lot more action and they’re gonna want to put the production where it counts, but regardless I think it’ll be a banger. And while I would have preferred some harder rock songs like Season 1’s 2nd OP and ED pair, this season had another amazing combo that fit right in with the amazing OPs and EDs of Fire Force, hopefully the next part will have songs and visuals that are just badass if not more.

And now it’s time to play the waiting game once again, as an enjoyer of this series since the start, I’m pretty used to waiting so I don’t mind it too much lol.

The episode started on a VERY low note - while seasons 1 and 2 were widely praised for their sound design, that had to be the poorest attempt at good audio I've ever seen. Saying that, I feel like the entire season was rescued by the way this episode ended, how it managed to build tension and unease, only to release it into a mystery that makes you want to keep watching.

At the end I truly thought Shinra time traveled to the past, remained there, and his presence and actions generated the first human combustions and pillars.
Just like Skynet in the Terminator series was spawned out of Arnie's CPU in the first movie (a predestination paradox where something is conjured out of thin air, with cause & effect getting reversed).

But no, Shinra just took a good long look at the past via his Adolla thingie. But the greatest mystery is this:
Who dyed his hair blonde and why? πŸ€”

Sooooo Ao no Exorcist time travel arc meets Evangelion? Sign me up, especially since I'm getting some Shin Megami Tensei vibes from the whole "Tokyo before the Great Cataclysm". I was always fascinated by the first supernatural event that lead to the eventual merge of our world with the supernatural.

Inca x Shinra, yessss, let's go!

Maybe he was simply into hair bleaching back then. Basically a fashion statement of rebelliousness, especially considering the supposed context of modern IRL Japan.

Sounds like a promising theory, I was kinda thinking along those lines too but I remembered Shinra always had black hair since he was a kid so it confused me a bit, hopefully we’ll get an explanation in the next part, I’m sure they won’t turn his hair blonde and not address it lol.

As a potential Cruel Evil Writer, I would be perfectly fine with sticking in something sticking out like this, and then never explain it. Years later at a convention I would finally answer the question and say "I was just screwing with you."

Shinra going back to the past with Inca was WILD. Why is the past the real world??? The first great cataclysm must have really messed things up for everything to become animated.

A lot of interesting things got setup and I can't wait for January 2026 to get those epic reveals. This was definitely a stunning way to end part 1 of season 3.

I knew that Shinra went back into the past with Inka given the preview, but I didn’t expect basically a slideshow of what Tokyo looked like in the past and for Shinra to end up back in Benimaru’s town with blonde hair three months later. Some freaky shit just went down.

Also, it seems that Sho Kusakabe has betrayed The Evangelist and is now going rogue alongside Arrow who will stick by him as his guardian for the rest of her days.

Given that demon’s backstory, it seems that Iris has an Adolla Burst and may be related to the blonde haired woman who powered the original Amaterasu, but I may be reading into things.

Things definitely got interesting and I want to know what goes on next!

Dude... There are characters with god-like powers here. Crazy!
The lore behind Amaterasu is even more creepy than I imagined.
It finally seems like Iris is figuring something out. All the pillars will be self-aware.
Well... I definitely need to find an explanation for the ending, even though I have my theories. Lol
I can't define it in any way other than abstract and confusing.
We'll have to wait and see what's next.

A lot happene this episode it was insane!! I think the ending was so trippy and a perfect depiction of what a human would feel like seeing another dimension. I heard a comment online saying that the eye that was looking down upon shinra was actually the authors eye!!! and I think that's an insane addition if its true. I believe him being 2D in a 3D world really highlighted to me just how small he felt in the grand scale of things and in Tokyo as a whole. I read ahead of this episode from the manga and Im super stoked for part 2 of this season!!

This was my stopping point in the manga. This was so out of left field it's almost hard to discern what actually happened. It's a hell of a cliffhanger though.

Overall, not a bad season. But it's clearly meant to set up everything for the finale. It's giving us the explanation behind the great cataclysm, Arthur's fight with Dragon, Shinra possibly teaming up with Sho, etc. I'd say the most entertaining part of the season was the Hibana segments regarding what happened at St. Raffels, the purpose behind it, and the reveal of what the Great Cataclysm really is. But because this season spent most of its time setting things up, it just doesn't hold up as much as the previous seasons.

Ok i just hated this season so much. In EVERY SINGLE EPISODE up until this last one, they kept introducing new evil characters. I was fed up. Also the fact that they rendered S1 & S2 useless by joining the white clad with the empire was so stupid. I think the author just lost it at this point. The series isn't moving forward at all. We keep taking further steps backwards.
There is no progress or improvement at all. It feels like there is no point in watching.
Every time they defeat a demon of some sort, an evil character shows up and says its actually according to thier plan and its part of the steps required, like WTF, why r we all here ! Whats going on!!!

The parts with sister Hibana was the only usefull episode. The rest felt like fillers.
