I for the life of me do not understand the point of this series. We really doing GT-esque plot again? Isn't the whole turning Goku into a kid thing the biggest complaint about that show?
I'm so confused by the plotline too. So this seems to be before Super but after Buu. When tf does this take place? I'm assuming it's pre Battle of Gods? Also given Battle of Gods and Super is canon then, why should there be any stakes? We all know they all survive.

| Great first episode, arguably the best first episode amongst any Dragon Ball series. Bit too long spent on the Majin Buu recap, would have been annoying bad it been a 20 minute episode but it wasn't. Fantastic animation, new characters seem interesting, enjoyed the bits of new lore that was added too. |

| i couldnt help but smile through out the whole ep thats how amazing this was and you telling me every ep is gonna be looking this amazing? this is movie quality!!! but yeah im super excited to see where this series goes also i gotta say seeing that whole recap and how it was remade like it was it just really makes me wish and hope someday we could see all of DB,DBZ,DBS all remade and looking like this but only time will tell if it'll ever happen but for a huge fan like me it would be a dream to see it actually happen |

| This is a fun idea. I do love all the super powerful transformations but sometimes I long for the simpleness of the first dragon ball. Which this show seems like it'll replicate. |

| Haven't watched any DB since DBZ. This was really nice art-wise, hopefully it will continue to be a fun series, not just counting on nostalgia. |

| First episode of Daima is really good!! ๐ญ The recap/retelling of previous Dragon Ball events was done brilliantly at the beginning without being boring. Not only do I enjoy the consistency of the art style but the animation has vastly improved and it looks much more cleaner than DB Super. This reminds me of DBS Movie Broly. But this new story of the heroes turning into kids opens up new possibilities for new adventures which I'm very excited about. No need for flashy godly transformations with broken power levels. The original Dragon Ball with young Goku & Bulma revolves more around adventures, and it's a very welcome idea that I'm super eager & excited to see here in Dragon Ball Daima. I also really appreciate the humor with the dynamics of the three visitors from the Demon Realm. It's even clever how they handled the transportation and teleportation from the Demon Realm all the way to Earth in Universe 7. The lore is rich and I appreciate the consistency. Even I feel young all over again along with the cast to witness their new adventures! So hyped! ๐ญ Here we gooooooo!! |

| Back in the post-Buu months, once again. -_- For another try at crossing early and late DB through universe expansion (based on preexisting elements).And another failure? At least, it could be a fun adventure and it looks good, with a bit less shine than I was expecting on every character (good!). On the other hand... japanese producers dropped physical contact in kids shows long ago, and now they won't even show you "energy contact"? Luckily, it won't be relying too much on fights. Oh, a return to the old Buu "magic" explanation for defusing potala fusions ! But I'm not a fan at all of what they decided to "re-change" about Piccolo Daimaô, turning namek people (and even the Shin god species) into inhabitants from another world (the demons one). 4/5 (The "good look" people are talking about is simply a slightly more shiny and thin animated version of Dragon Ball's late style. And it does not look like it will be the show's style, wich leans more toward the post-DB style of Toriyama if anything.) Why am I even surprised to read the word "canon" on every page of this forum thread? ... |

| Where there's more Dragon Ball I will be there as well! This episode was only setting up the story premise, which was pretty obvious if you read the show summary. But they don't seem to mind taking their time to animate every scene extensively. I have not read the source material, but I watched the trailer afterwards which shows us a bit more of the direction they are taking with Daima. Seems like a bit more adventure based like the original DB, where we will explore the demon realm. But with a healthy dose of DBZ powers thrown in. Interested to see what they have got cooking |
| Damn, they cooked. We really underestimate how good of a world Dragon Ball has and at this point, there's limitless possibilities. Though I'm curious, so the Demon Realm is outside the regular world or whatever and is not affected by universes and stuff, so there's just one Demon Realm? Honestly didn't mind the Majin Buu arc recap at all, it was really cool to see some iconic scenes reanimated, it was crisp. Didn't know Supreme Kai got siblings (Arinsu's hot), I can see it though, Degesu acts similarly to Supreme Kai, except evil. Well, they done goofed, if they just left them alone, I doubt they would have ever touched the Demon Realm, but now they'll go there lmao. Also, I am pretty sure in Super, they mentioned that Kibito Kai got unfused after wishing for it with the Dragon Balls, I guess they retconned that. Another interesting note is that Namekians are originally from the Demon Realm? I guess that makes sense? Anyway, this was great, especially it being Toriyama's last work, I am going to be here for the ride. Now time to get back to Sparking Zero. |

| Liked the animation. Still expect the show to be good, but goddamn that was an incredibly boring first episode. I also prefer the villains in DB to be evil and genocidal instead of goofy, but we'll see where this goes I guess. |

This was a stupid retcon and I’m not expecting them to do something interesting with it. Also another dumb one was that “Goku wished for Buu to stay in the Earth as a good guy”. That’s not true, the wish was that the earthlings would forget about Buu’s destruction. Buu was already a good guy once he got Kid Buu out
I really hope this has nothing to do with Super, cringed when they mentioned “Universe 7”. So far it’s basically the same premise as GT except that instead of going around the universe they will touch upon the whole demon realm/supreme kais thing. Hoping that the Dragon Ball cast gets screen time here

| Only know about Dragonball from the horrible movie, so this is my first exposure. They spent a ton of time on the villain backstory and the importance of the dragon, but it's piqued my interest. Wonder what the heroes will have to do to get back to normal after this? But being a kid again to have adventures is not a bad thing. Many of us would like to go back to those days. It has the same "reset" factor while keeping your knowledge/memories that makes Isekai such a guilty pleasure. |

| It's alright. The visuals are fantastic though, the reanimated DBZ scenes are eye-candy, Dragon Ball Super could never reach this quality. The first part of the episode feels very dragged out though, it is a recap of the Buu Saga from DBZ with the villain occasionally reacting to it and it feels like a generic YouTuber reaction video. This episode is very introductory, I'm hoping the next one will be better. |

| @celebes "A thing happened therefore it's the best". Dragon Ball Z's first episode was mostly filler where Goku chased around a squealing little shit being washed away on a log. GT is GT, so crap. Supers first episode involved two little tykes trying to get some water. The only one that was half decent was the original Dragon Balls first episode and that wasn't better than Daimas just from animation alone. |
