I only teared up personally, versus the usual bouts of hysteric sobbing during these sorts of climaxes, but it was beautiful and heartbreaking nonetheless. The entire class's hysteria really got to me. Even seeing traditionally stoic Karasuma put a great deal of effort into his composure was sad as fuck.

RIP Korosensei. :'( Spin-off series where he's still alive plz. :'(

the last part of the episode was terribly sad...

This is the first time an anime made me cry. I knew it was coming but the roll call and the last wish of Korosensei were beautifully done.

The feel of this episode. Wow. I almost cried a tear as well. Just with the way the class reflects all of their experience with Koro-sensei and when he called out their names one by one...

Good episode, I'm sure Nagisa feels a lot about their experience together as well. This episode..feels/5 and that song..;_;

WOW such a sad, but beautiful episode. I teared up while reading this part in the manga & cried so much while watching this. My heart hurts so much.

The students having to make the toughest choice ever. Kill or Not Kill Koro Sensei.
So heart breaking hearing that final attendance & seeing every student sad & crying. Koro Sensei saying his final goodbyes.

Nagisa struggling to deliver the final blow. GOODBYE KORO SENSEI!
That insert song was so amazing & beautiful. Great way to say goodbye. That final moment with everyone crying was where I had tears rolling down my cheeks.

Congrats on Graduating everyone. Farewell Koro Sensei. BEST Teacher ever. You will be missed.

Final episode next week. Gonna be super sad when this finally ends.
im so sadd never expected thios show to hgve sutcha good final and put so much emotion on it what a show ! #foreverkorosensei

I even had Koro-sensei's death spoiled for me yet it still had me crying more than I ever imagined.

damn, knew this day would come from the very beginning, the previous episodes keep building up to this, but my body will never be ready for something like this. Idk how but episode managed to make me cry twice.. The design of Koro-sensei is so ingenious especially that permanent smile on his face, that somehow added to the very sad factor that would not have been easily portrayed if he had a human face on. Fukuyama Jun is so freakin brilliant as Koro-sensei's VA!

Nothing much happened but the build up for the emotional climax was unreal. Easily a perfect episode.

I loved it! It was so sad and i sobbed so hard.

Plus to be honest i wish Nagisa had more battles/maybe fought against the antagonist. They say he has the talent to kill but they only show it 4 (maybe 5) times. I wanted to see more T^T

Been some time since I've watched the finale but I in retrospective I think it's the sadest anime episode I've ever seen, at least in the top 3.
And it shouldn't be farfetched to say that it could easily get into anyone's top 10 sadest episodes-list.

Perhaps, I cried. I cried like a bitch. I could forgive the disappointment I felt from the last episode because they did this one so beautifully. I already started tearing up during the final roll call. Koro-sensei saying their names one by one really gave me flashbacks to all the good times they spent together as a class. Seeing Itona and Karma actually showing those emotions and crying really showed how much impact Koro-sensei had to the class. Even Irina cried and Karasuma couldn't hold back the pain in his expressions. Seeing Koro-sensei's empty uniform was really painful. You did well Koro-sensei. You've nurtured a whole class into being better people and influencing people's lives in a positive way. This was such an emotional episode. It was obvious that it would come to this but actually seeing it happen is so saddening.

This looked like the final episode but I'm very glad it isn't. I don't want an open ending. The plot is basically finished at this point but I think it's still too soon or abrupt to end it at this stage. The final episode is probably going to be an epilogue and letting us see how the class is doing after the events that happened.

Sayonara Korosensei~

I usually write a lot in these discussion forums y’know but there’s really not much to say here, this episode is a masterpiece! I’m an emotional person but there aren’t many shows that make me weep to the point where my tissue box finished, seriously (=> it was half empty by the time I reached this episode anyway). Final class attendance, each and everyone’s “present” or “yes” in various forms, Karasuma’s/Irina’s little cameo, the music and then that final outburst as Korosensei moved on, wonderful stuff! A whole episode worth of tears, literally! Ever since Korosensei’s reminder of the Assassination at the very start to the very end seeing Korosensei moving on to Aguri-san’s side as per the illustration, it was a ride filled with overwhelming emotions! I was literally crying all the way along with the students. Even Karma lad and Itona couldn’t hold it in, and seeing that really just sunk my heart even further!

Looks like I’ve ended up writing quite a bit in the end, lol. Can’t wait to see what the final episode has in store for me! This show has taught me a lot already, I’ll give it that.

Reading some of the posts in this thread actually pissed me off. I really have to wonder if the people saying shit like "cringey", "forced drama", and asking "why did they feel sad about killing him/when he died?!" even payed attention at any point while watching this. Like you people can't be serious right? Jesus Christ...

Anyway, on topic: this is definitely one of the saddest episodes I've ever seen. When Koro-sensei said he was gonna call roll for the last time, I immediately broke down. That was unbelievably touching.

I'm sad but very glad that the series concludes the way it is, a solid 9/10 for me (even with the first season in consideration)

I watched this yesterday and am only commenting on this today. There's one word I have to describe this episode and this show. Inevitable. The impending death of Koro-Sensei was foreshadowed throughout the course of the anime and was made certain in the last arc of the anime. Even though everyone who watched this knew that he was going to die, we all still cried. And let me tell you, I CRIED. I cried for 30 minutes straight nonstop. Tears were rolling down my face like a waterfall when this episode ended. I'm new to anime and manga since I only started watching and reading the two, respectfully, last year. But, what an eye opening series that Assassination Classroom is. You know, I've only cried twice when watching anime. The first time was when Jiraiya(from Naruto) died, and the second time was in this episode. I'm still feeling a bit depressed even typing this post because I keep on remembering the scene when Koro-Sensei passed. The music that played during this scene is also a tear-jerker, and if you read the lyrics it becomes even more somber. Just a brilliant and melancholy way to end a series. Hats off to all the people that worked on this show.

Rewatching the series for the 10th time, this episode in particular for the 15th time, and I've cried like a bitch in nearly all those times. Easily the best anime episode of all time.

The music, the voice acting, the memories looked back on, the roll call where we got to see all students and reminisce on the bonds these students (and even me) have with Korosensei, it all hit too close to home and was incredibly well done. No anime episode, no episode in general, no form of media and no event in real life has made me more emotional than this, from the first time till now. This was perfection. Thank you Korosensei for everything.

(May or may not be a very overdue forum reply)

I remember watching this show a while back and that farewell scene with Korosensei still resonates with me too well emotionalyl. There was a handful of nitpicks here and there in terms of plot element choices, some cast members left out in terms of character development, villain utilization, and a few mistimed cases of tonal shifts. Fortunately, it did not at all ruin my overall experience, though it kept me from rating it 10/10.

Overall, it was such a great experience of one of my favorite anime series up to this day. I found the entire 3-E cast very endearing and very tight-knit, cause the characters are honestly the strongest point of this show. Korosensei, Nagisa, and Karma are my favorites.

Too bad this series was the lone high point for Studio Lerche despite the latter's rather unique and appealing artstyle.

Oh man, where do I even start. The feels train hit with 30 train cars this time, one for each student and teacher, and the face on the locomotive? None other than Koro-Sensei himself. Not only was everything they've learned up till that moment put into use, but can we just talk about that roll call? The integration of Koro-Sensei's final wish with the wide shots of Class 3-E, and the final photo of them. Big oomph. Couldn't stop crying. Hey may have been a pervert, he may have been the most feared assassin of all time, he may have been a tentacled failed science experiment moving at Mach 20, but he's the best-darned teacher of all time and seeing him dissolve into a slew of fireflies... That hit hard man.

I was so angry, because korosensei could be alive, help all his students when they grow, save more lifes, but, even with this end... it was perfect.

Actually korosensei was happy, all the students knew that it was time. I know that I shouldn't, because Korosensei was happy and complete, but I still am angry with the society, he could do a lot more, live more, he wasn't dangerous... it's selfish, but that's how I feel.
