Slightly getting more used to Sarasa's presence in this show despite that personality of hers.

I wonder if Hiroto is even taking this seriously as there are more school game rules. I do find some of his opponents rather irritating though, especially the guy this week. Out of the cast, Shirayuki still stands out more although I'm not sure I like her personality yet.

Hiroto seems the be facing a new challenger in the form of the Empress's #1 fan, Kugasaki. Seems like this episode deepens the central mystery of these island games and introduces new twists about those said islands as well. Which is great because this narrative keeps me engaged by providing tantalizing these tiny little breadcrumbs, while simultaneously raising more questions. Although it doesn't seem like Hiroto is even taking any of these games seriously as there are more rules to these games It seems.

Yeah, I can definitely start to see some pacing issues now. The pacing in certain scenes, occasionally feel slightly rushed. Given the amount of information and character development packed into each episode, a slower pace might have allowed for greater immersion and emotional impact but whatever I'm still enjoying this nevertheless.

I cheat saionji family, school about sarara kidnapping or is she the real sasara or ewrina i am confused now on this point, who is that redheaded girl really is the real sarasa or rina? And Do you think there will be more ecchi or fanservice in the remaining 9 episodes?

Welcome to the 4th arrondissement of Paris.
Okay, the pace of the episode was quite fast, especially with a lot of information in the episode.
So... for the one who is confused about how Hiroto won the game. Actually, he did not use the 'Rule Breaker' skill. He just asked about it because if it is a real skill he can use it for bluffing. The skill he actually used is the 'Display Anomaly'. The Company hacked into Seiran's device with this skill and Hiroto bluffed him like he was using Rule Breaker to change the rules. When in reality, only Seiran's device has been changed, not the entire rules. Hiroto can convince Seiran about the rules changed and made him discard all of his cards in the end. While Hiroto still had one card left in his hand.

Sarasa you saw in the episode is the fake one. The real one is on the mainland in the normal school. Because the real Sarasa wanted to attend a normal school and live a normal life as it was told in this episode. So, Rina helped the real Sarasa escape by making a story about a kidnapping. Because if a real Sarasa is missing without any legit reason it will be a big turbulent for the Saionji family. So, Rina decided to lie to everyone in the family by telling them that Sarasa was kidnapped and she will be Sarasa instead.

This OP is really growing on me
The episode title is a pun. 互角と覚悟 (gokaku to kakugo).
Himeji sounds so dramatic over the phone lol. Would've preferred if she talked in a more calm voice.
Sarasa remains my favorite.
I hope Shinohara wins a game without cheating at all at least once in the future.

I understand now, do you think there will be more ecchi or fanservice in the remaining 9 episodes but since today's episode 2 and 3 there was nothing ecchi/fanservice or there will only be ecchi in the 1st episode

Well, these games are getting quite convoluted at this point, bit silly. I can see the pacing being fast now as well, and the info dumping of the rules and of Sarasa's situation as well was just a lot of stuff to take in. Bit disappointed in how this has turned out after a favourable first impression, hopefully it turns around with some better pacing and more interesting games.

Unlike his previous games this one proved to be quite challening. He did win with the help of deception though. Rina told the truth about Sarasa too. Seems like she has started to have feelings for Hiroto?

Shinohara seemed to have his back against the wall for a second there, but he still managed to pull off the victory at the last second. Tbh that was expected though lol.

So the series is tagged as ecchi but there’s been shockingly little fanservice or ecchi moments here. Big waste with these character designs smh

The games’ rules are shoddily put together and rushed, it’s hard to even follow along with what’s going on. All I know is Sarasa mega fan wants to take on Hiroto and Hiroto cheats his way to a win. I don’t understand how it happened, though. If you’re going to be a game show ala NGNL, you need to walk people thru the games.

They did have that little planning phase with the girls going over the rules, but was pretty fast imo.

Hopefully next week we get better pacing and more ecchi.

The very first thing you need to do to make these games even a bit engaging is to NEVER, and I mean never rush through this "explaining the rules" part. Which this episode, and the one before that did.

We know the end result, that dude will win but atleast try to make it easy for people to understand how he did though, which unfortunately this series isn't doing at all. Will see a few more episodes, though the expectations are kind of blank.

By the way, good thing they told the truth about what "actually" happened to real Sarasa.

Feel like this episode was doomed to fail just from the very beginning itself when establishing the game, and the pacing issues throughout to rush through the rules and the game did not help whatsoever. This was rough overall.

There were surely stones in those bags.

About the rules, I agree with some of you it's difficult to follow sometimes and it seems rushed at some points.

I feel that those wins are never fair ( even if I know he cheats but it's just too easy ) I know that is the concept but I can't help but get frustrated about it.
Doesn't it put Hiroto in a position of... a lousy hero?

And I was thinking, Sarasa as the best student, never beaten and all, why can't she help him ? make some strategy ?

That last scene was kinda cute tho

In the end, the first theory that I gave last chapter about Sarasa's kidnapping was the only one that came a little closer to the ones I gave that she was never really kidnapped, but I didn't imagine that they simply did it because she wanted to go to school normal xD By the way, the auction in the game of cards was literally like when I played with my little cousins as a boy and we invented the rules at the precise moment to cancel the kamekameha that they threw at us XD

Interesting episode between Hiroto & Kugasaki. Kugasaki & Sarasa meeting secretly, damn. Looks like Shirayuki already knows Sarasa.

This episode basically was an card game and there were cards spread over the whole city i suppose and you could use everything to your disposal. Kugasaki is already fast with his pickings so Hiroto needs to take a sprint and get some cards as well. He finds card 17 and gets it but ends up falling down and injuring himself but he doesn't want to give up even after Sarasa tells that she lied about everything and the kidnap etc. Hiroto throws one smart play at the end and wins the game against Kugasaki, better luck next time. Hiroto ends up recovering at the hospital and Sarasa meets him at the rooftop.

That was fun. It didn't actually make sense that the guy would have discarded his cards. Why's there even a mechanic for that? But it's a step up from hacker instawin. I'm satisfied with this very dumb mental battle.

add me to this list. 😂😂 the abilities are made from thin air, and the dude has a cast of cheaters backing him to sabotage games in his favor. The weird part to me is how he is looking for someone and has become a star on campus and won't use his fame to call out the person he is looking for...

I am just gonna drop this one. The writer can basically give the characters any ability he/she likes giving them, honestly it's giving me a very strange feeling how this anime is turning out. I think by making the anime fully fictional or making the plot so convenient like that, I'd rather stick with Tensura that has a clear, OP MC to start with. I am actually curious how well the original work sells.
