| I really loved this show starting out, when it was actually about Komi and her problem communicating with people and making friends, but some these idiotic side characters in this episode are really dragging the show down for me. The stereotypical character that has to make every single thing a competition, the creepy and disgusting stalker who picks up a strand of Komi's hair and licks it before putting it in a ziplock bag, eww. I guess it just took me by surprise, I've never read the manga so this is not what I was expecting the show to be like. I still like the show and I'm going to keep watching of course, I just hope there's more focus on Komi in future episodes. |
| Yamai is kinda extreme, not sure if she'd be a good fit in with the theme of the show without consistently going overboard and disrupting Komi. I would understand if this was just a one off episode but if she's going to be a recurring character I think they'd need to turn down the whole Yandere part of the character. Komi-san and Tadano's scene together was definitely the best part of the entire episode, very sweet. She finally spoke face to face (Even if she covered hers). <3 Still a good episode on the whole. |

| We have a new character Yadano Makeru coming in the scene, and she's determined to beat Komi in P.E. screenings. But as it turned out, it was a tie, so her adventures have yet to end, I guess she will be a recurring guest. Now the whole Yamai thing is straight up comedy and also ehhh. I love that Komi understands how her popularity can straight up put Tadano in harm's way, and she's scared that she will lose him for that, aww he'll never leave you gurl. And yes...Yamai is a yandere, no buts there...pls don't kill me. |

| You know this show was okay until this episode, the cuteness is a bit much but had enough to make me smile for it to be a good time until this stupid yandere appears. I guess I can no longer take this show or its characters at all seriously. A kidnapping and then "oh nvmd, lets be friends!" the next day. Absurd even for a comedy and destroys the lighthearted nature of the show. Honestly I don't really like any of the characters except for Kami, Tadano is okay just because he is so bland but so far all the supporting cast are cringe. Makes a 24 reference with the clock, one thing everyone wants to do is be friends with Jack Bauer just like this psycho girl... haha, lets all laugh about it. |

| The physical seemed a bit pointless. Yamai is insane but I like her not as annoying as the dog I guess. The 24 ref was pretty cool didn’t expect to see that in a anime. I wish they didn’t forgive Yamai so easily but I guess that’s 4 friends now ^^ |
| Wow, finally Komi spoke one sentence to Tadano even though she was still very stammered (I know she had spoken to Tadano but it was on the phone). Their interaction was very sweet and Tadano is a real nice person. Seeing what Tadano went through everyday honestly made me realize that being friends with someone very popular (especially here Komi is a school goddess) has a possibility to make us feel down and even be in danger. But I'm happy because Komi is a good person whose only wish is to have 100 friends and Tadano is not someone who is easily swayed by bad comments or threats from people because he is close to Komi :D So congratulations Komi on getting your fourth friend! (Tadano, Najimi, the glasses girl and the yandere girl) ♡ |

| Did it hurt, Yamai? When you fell from heaven because they didn't let you in because you suck? Even after this, i knew what was coming even if with some cut from the manga about the first girl (really good voice also), and even if she isn't as pretty as that terrible yandere named before, she looks interesting. Komi talking a little more, well... too sweet and pure for the world. |

| I swear if i ever met someone like Yamai in real life i would not care if she is a yandere i would literally punch her in the mouth after she did all that, especially to Tadano. I really hate people who think they have the right to judge you on who you should be friends with. >:( |

| Even though I'm still enjoying it, I don't like the direction the anime is taking (Komi befriending the rude, annoying and shitty simp kids from her class). This is what I feared would happen a couple of episodes ago. Komi-san, that psycho yandere bitch kidnapped (and planned to murder) your best friend, and you're going to forgive and befriend her just like that? I know this is a comedy and it's not supposed to be taken seriously, but come on... |
| This episode may have ruined all my enjoyment. I have been hearing how good Komi-san was for years and years but the length (among other things) kept me from reading it. Now that the anime is dubbed and I was enjoying it and seeing what the deal was. But Yamai is ruining it. For me, SOL shows are lighthearted, fluffy fun things that make me feel good and as such, I tend to watch CGDCT over say, a romcom since the romance part tends to annoy me over how slow it is and eats away at the fluff. This time I saw how it can work well, but, well, Yamai is just, no. Just no. While I agree with a couple others here, Yandere are better than tsundere, this yandere is just evil and clashes with the fluff. I like fluff, and this shit that ruins it makes me drop shows and manga. Which, again, is why I tend not to consume rom coms because usually there is a tsundere in it being an abusive jackass. Since Yamai is now a friend, I cannot see myself actually enjoying this anime as much as I wanted to. Screen time will decide what score this gets but Komi-san has gone from clear easy, AOTS for me to maybe I will drop it in the span of one episode. My tolerance level is extremely low when it comes to these things and I do not hesitate to drop shows. With how long I had to wait for the English dub and how much people have hyped this up, I am going to give it more slack than other anime, but I will literally fast forward every scene that involves her moving forward. Fuck her. And to those in here saying "Stop taking this too seriously!" And calling people who do not like this character or episode kids, stop it. It makes you look defensive. Now, about the VA, yes, do not attack IRL people because of a role, that has to be said because of how often it sadly happens. But actually hating a character? Nothing wrong with that at all. I get that my taste is not the norm on this site or at large, I have negative affinity on MAL with most people. That is because I watch anime for very specific reasons and if it doesn't fulfil those, well, I don't like it. This is a comedy, and I did not laugh. I came here for fluff and laughs and it is not delivering. I have been reading The Mute Girl and Her New Friend and I enjoy it much more even before this episode. She is actually mute and does her best to communicate by writing. She is unpopular because kids are cruel, isn't pretty beyond belief, and it is quite touching in a way that isn't overly sad and rage inducing. Those are the one I like, and seeing how Komi-san started this trend (I think?) I expected better from it. One character can ruin a show, and I have dropped shows because of that. I hope this doesn't happen with this anime, but considering what TV Tropes has to say, I am quite nervous. (yes I spoil myself, I actually have anxiety and knowing what happens is how I actually get through any show or movie period) It took me hours to get through episode 4, having to keep pausing it. Honestly, if there wasn't hype, and if I watched this back last year when there was no dub, I would have dropped it by the 20 minute mark and just give up on this anime as something not for me. No matter what it is, nothing is universally praised. Sometimes we as a society like to be enraged when someone gives a negative review or even just likes something instead of love it. It's alright to not like things. Even if, in your view, the reason is rather small. Is that fair? |

| Is it just me or does the art look a bit more off this time? I'm not fully sure but Ren especially looks kinda weird compared to the other characters. Speaking of Ren, I have no idea what to think of her after this episode. She was weird for a lot of it, but some of the scenes were also kinda funny but some of it was also just frustrating. She's alright I guess, but I hope she either gets better or just doesn't get much screentime. Though I do hope we see more of the pink haired girl at the start, we only saw a bit of her but she seems like a fun character |
| Lmao it’s so funny how this episode ruined many people’s wholesome cute girl fantasy. The whole show so far is Komi (the perfect pure anime waifu) interacting with people who creepily obsesses over her. These interactions go the same way every time with Komi just standing still while the other person awkwardly tries to make conversation with her. Aside from Tadano (the self-insert character) and Najiri, everyone else is extremely unlikable. So far the only slightly funny part about this anime was when Yamai kidnapped Tadano and referred to him as “thing.” I did not expect them to go that extreme lol. Komi-san’s gimmick is getting old and it is exhausting to watch. I’ll probably drop it if stays like this. |
| If I could kill off any one character from any series, the Yamai b*tch would be up there. Absolutely 0 value to this series, and a very questionable addition by the mangaka. Anyone who likes her I can only be a yuri/yandere addict. |

| Christ, what an episode! So, I'm really starting to adore Komi as a character. And her chemistry with Tadano is adorable to say the least; when she imagines him cheering her on for inspiration, and then how she felt guilty at the end for his sake, and even managed to speak out a full sentence to him was just the best. Quickly becoming the cutest pairing in anime for me. Just the fact she handled that whole situation so calmly, which most people WOULD buckle under, despite barely being able to handle any socialization was definitely pretty awesome to her. She shut her down without batting an eye, and even politely. Badass, to say the least. I think I love that unlike most other shows that would do this plot, they'd make someone like Komi wear a persona or put up an act in public, but no; here Komi literally does nothing but mind her own business and keep to herself (to the extent she's literally out of the loop) and everyone ELSE misinterprets that to be her being too good, too perfect, out of their league (and I'm sure others might think she's standoffish) solely because she happens to be very attractive; and as any introvert can tell you, other people's perceptions of you, especially when you can't adeptly counter them, can really mess you up. But you can't change them either; I've been told so many times I come across so-and-so, and it's like, wow, you can't read me at all. I can totally relate to it at all. And so about Yamai; didn't like her at all. BUT I can appreciate her in this kind of role and for the narrative, but that doesn't mean I have to LIKE her. I didn't like her before with just how cruel she was to Tadano for seemingly no reason, but after getting to know her, I dislike her even more. It was definitely interesting seeing Komi in this situation with someone like this, where, yeah, people like this DO EXIST, and it was handled well too. That was my one negative about this episode, the ending where she was validated. I mean, honestly, she's a psycho, so I kinda understand they *had* to or she probably would've offed herself or who knows, but she's clearly unstable. You don't want to be around someone that volatile for sure, but it definitely makes the story more interesting going forward at least. If she gets an even more fitting comeuppance, that would be excellent. You generally don't set up a character like this solely for a one-time gag, so we'll see. On another note, I found it quite hilarious that woke Netflix had to showcase an episode where a gay/bi character is portrayed as mentally unstable and by far the most unlikable. Haha. I like this show even more for making THEM pay for that. Wonder if they had to make apologies about it to the twitter mob too. Haha. Love this show though. |

| Yamai's behaviour is a little too much Komi and Tadano to just forgive, IMO. Still, if she's kept in check it's all right (-ish). She's fun but a little too creepy for the general tone of the anime. |

| wtf yamai should go to prison for assault, kidnapping, terroristic threats, attempted murder, stalking, and other crimes. as a minor of her age she could (and should) be charged as an adult, with a little leniency on time so i'd guess she'd easily get 5 to 10; maybe 5 in 5 out on parole but that is just inexcusable. i don't care if it's an anime there are some things that are just incredulous. also i'm basing that off the US justice system. Japan is even more strict. |

(FYI, they skipped 2 chapter on this episode which from manga reader's perspective, I really hope that chapter (manga reader know which one) would adapted on future episode. I understand the action they take because it wouldn't fit the conclusion of Yamai's introduction story and yes, it's worth it, especially because we could hear Komi speaking again. And gladly, they change what weapon Yamai used since it wouldn't make sense for her bringing "that" to school.) FINAL MESSAGE = PLS DON'T HATE OR EVEN SENDING DEATH THREAT TO YAMAI'S SEIYUU JUST BECAUSE SHE'S VOICING YAMAI. do people really do this? dude it's just a cartoon bro. |

No hun, that's not how it works. We've seen so much strength and growth in Komi these last couple of episodes. From being able to talk to Todano over the phone, then verbally saying to him face to face "I still want to be friends with you, Todano". To writing to Ren and telling her that she can pick who she wants to be friends with. I've been loving watching that growth. i super agree, but i don't think she was trying to win over komi but more just getting him out of the picture because he was too close to her. either way she needs to be in cuffs and perp walked into the station |
