This like fighting against fate. Now that Takemichi is aware of what's happening in the future, he knows what to do.

However, it looks like there's trouble awaiting from 12 years ago for Takemichi. I will say this though...Takemichi has balls. It takes guts for someone like him to take such a big risk to save Hinata. Gangs means serious business. His face looks like shit this episode but is determined.

The OP is pretty good imo. So, Naoto is the key for Takemichi to time leap and save Hinata in the future. Takemichi being the slave of Kiyomasa and getting beaten to a pulp was pretty harsh to see. Takemichi was gonna run away but then he realized how caring Hinata is and how much he wanna protect her. She's actually a really sweet girl who wanna protect Takemichi. Takemichi also realised that running away won't get him anyway and faced his biggest fears. You gotta have guts to do that.
The next episode is gonna be awesome, I'm assuming. Kiyomasa vs. Takemichi. King vs. Slave. Who's gonna win? We'll have to see. Great second episode.

Wow whole two minute recap at the begining.

So Takemichi can go back to past if he shakes hand with Naoto and vice versa. I wonder why handshake with Naoto of all things, maybe their desire to protect Hina?

Hina's such a sweet girl, she must be protected at all cost. Thou for now Takemichi's too much of a wimp to do anything but he's trying his best to change so let's just wait and see. He challanged Kiyomasa to a duel which was cool but he's surely gonna get beat up to a pulp.

As a manga reader, I think it was great. We also get to see the outro so that's cool!

I'm gonna go off-topic here but for the anime-only peeps just wait for episode 4 or 5, that's probably when you'll get attracted to the series.

Is this the first time that yankee anime integrated with time traveling? Just yankee anime lone is very rare nowadays, and this also has sci-fi element to it. Plus a little bit of detective genre where undercover cop is infiltrate in evil organization, a troupe usually see in Hong Kong movies.

One comment told me to observe how Takemichi's brain also revert back to his teenage, which is true! He may have information from the future, but he isn't adult in teenage body, he's just normal teenage. To say it more simpler, this is the opposite effect of ReLIFE anime.

And now this is Takemichi's path to greatness. If he succeed, not only he'll save his girlfriend's life, he also prevent many other lives lost from this gang. And since this gang will never be able to do bad things in the future, you could say that he also turn gangsters into good citizen! But it's not gonna be easy task, and since it involve time traveling, I kinda expect some very crazy twists, for example, could the cop that killed by the gang the future Takemichi, just my wild guess, but it's kinda twist that I expected.

The pacing is slower than I expected. I really thought we were going to meet Mikey and Draken this episode.

The highlight of this episode for me is Takemichi's VA. He's doing a great job.

HAH OK, the Erased vibes I'm getting from this show is going stronger.

Official HiGE DANdism's OP is a bopper, and fits very well with the nature of this show's symbolisms.

With the information that Naoto has measured up in his investigative reports about the Tokyo Manji Gang, asking Takemichi to help be the action point is but only the first step in quelling the entire gang and saving his sister Tachibana. Shake hands, and he's off to the "Back to the Future" stance as a slave.

Gangs are crude, I'll give it that, and Kiyomasa is an example of a leader who only cares for the money, and beats others if they're not up to par. It's nice that Tachibana still supports and encourages him to be stronger, while professing their love for each other.

The little fight's starting, and Takuya takes the role-call for Takemichi's stead, which is such a bro moment, I wish I could have a fight buddy like Takuya. Takemichi knows he can't run away from this reality, and he faces it like a bro: the match between master and slave, Kiyomasa vs. Takemichi. A challenge issued, and I'm very excited to see where this goes.

Oh my sweet Lord, these chapters are adapted well and on-point, full chapters at that.

Really liked the OP
Apparently he's already figured out how to go back to the past, but every time he comes back he gets beaten up, that's pretty bad luck xd
Okay, Takemichi has gone crazy, I don't know if he has a plan, because I don't know how he's going to beat him πŸ˜‚

Yoooo that spinning camera at the end along with Takemichi’s challenge was goosebumps inspiring. The future may be too hard for just him to change, but he can do it with his friends. I’m liking this show more than I thought I would.

The theme songs are soooo good.

Hina is a cutie. The moments between Hina and Takemichi are sweet (I hope the show ends with them, alive, in their 20s getting married or something :p )

Future!Takemichi always says "I'm sorry" and is a coward, but I think he's going to slowly change.

I really like the show so far but I got to say that how little Takemichi remembers about his past is kinda annoying. I mean it seems like it was absolute hell so maybe it’s just like he’s trying to forget the trauma but for right now how little he remembers is a bit contrived

Why couldn't he just warn Tachibana like he did with Naoto? If she doesn't believe him he can just mention a major incident that will occur in the future and when it does actually happen she'll believe him.

Very bold for Takemichi to challenge Kiyomasa but I guess he's determined to go threw with his actions even if it means getting beat up badly. He realized if he keeps repeating the phrase "I'm sorry" nothings gonna change for him. Better buckle up cause next episode could get messy.

Why the hell is Tokyo Revengers being review bombed by Erased fans? I just read some of the reviews that rated 1 and I can't believe. WTF is wrong with people?! I loved this episode so much and was excited to see people's impressions and was genuinely sad and disappointed to see there's people like that...

They're just degenerates. Acting as if several other time travel stories just like Erased don't already exist.

I’m really enjoying the show, so this is not truly a criticism, but I do hope they explain at some point why the little brother couldn’t simply stop his sister from going to the festival that day. Or at least do something to ensure she isn’t in the exact building where the truck hits. Seems like a simple solution. But I’m going to assume for now there’s some reason that won’t work. If I were Takemichi I’d be asking that question for sure, lol. But yeah - still a show I’m looking forward to seeing more of!

Nice episode again, very compelling as far as the drama part of it goes.

It's not a bad idea to consider that his time leap ability is linked to the handshake since that was the point he stopped being in the past but it doesn't make sense as to how his ability triggered before death. Is there more than one trigger?

Damn, that Kiyamasa guy beet up Takemichi hard. I felt bad watching him get hit so hard.

Honestly, the only thing that feels off to me about this whole show is the fact that all these guys are middle schoolers but some of them are crazy huge. Kiyomasa and co seem like they'd have to be at least be high school seniors to fit their bulk, not sure if it's just exaggerated on purpose.

Tachibana and Takemichi scene was very sweet, really love their interaction and I love how Takemichi find renewed willpower everytime he talks to her.
Honestly, I'm hoping Takemichi one ups Kiyomasa somehow, looking forward to next week.

Let's see if Takemichi can get revenge on Kiyomasa after nearly getting killed by him earlier in the episode. It's good to see that Takemichi seems to slowly be getting more serious and more bold rather than remaining a wimpy punching bag.

Does the MC stay stupid for the entire story or what? He lands in the past and then has to confirm that he made it by looking at his phone even tho the situation he’s in does imply that he did go back to the past. And the situation in question is a fight like bruh wake up. Then because of that he just gets the shit kicked out of him the rest of the episode which turned into pure excess at midpoint with the baseball bat. I understand he’s 14 years old but he spent days studying with the detective but then after calling himself a slave he just straight up asks the higher up of the group to meet the leaders hahaha. I dont want to dislike this but this episode felt like karma when you act stupid around the wrong crowd.

The anime is still decent, but the MC is a legitimate idiot.

They really OD'd on 2 full minutes of recap. Shounen recap syndrome is bad... Anyway this show had me hooked ep 1. Visuals, music, aesthetic and the overall concept and themes. The MC is pretty relatable to me and a lot of other people that run away from their problems but will never truly "escape" from them until they deal with them head on. This MC finally realized that and is moving in the right direction. Pacing seems a bit fast atm, considering not much character development was really done for any of the characters especially for his main group, Hinata and Naoto. I like that this might be a shounen that has really good drama and character dynamics/Interactions. I feel like some flash backs are in order to explain how the MC got into the gang culture and how/Why Hina started to like the MC. Also interested in meeting the MC's parents and hopefully the story doesn't just omit them just for keeping things simple. Really excited for where this goes.

Also don't understand why he was whining about not being with hina in 12 years when its ep 2... Not only is he narratively VERY far away from that point, but if he is able to change drastically the past, shes looking like the type of girl thats gonna be wifey material for him if he's successful and it would basically be guaranteed that they're together unless the rules of the time travel in this show change overtime.

So Takemichi goes back in time again only this time he arrives at the point where he is involved in a fighting ring and is a slave to Kiyomasa. Not only he lost the fight, but he also got beat up by Kiyomasa after asking about meeting one of the leaders of TMG and possibly joining them. Realizing that running away won't change anything, he summons the courage to challenge Kiyomasa to a fight. I hope Takemichi has a plan otherwise he's going to get beaten to a pulp again.

The ED is a banger.

What this anime nailed is the impact of punches and other hits lol

Takemichi seems to have a death wish, but he might impress with his guts. I can imagine that a gang leader is going to pull up who's going to take a liking to him for his willpower or something along these lines.

Why is there a 2 minute recap from episode 1 at the beginning?

So, Naoto was the key to Takemichi's time leap to time 12 years ago and prevented Kisaki from meeting up with Sano.

As a manga reader, this is very precise, even tho the pacing is a bit slow. I think also in this episode we'll meet Mikey. Lastly, OP and ED are great to listen to.

Feels so bad for Takemichi & friends. They were such good friends.....Akkun!!!!!β™‘ I wonder how they are in the future.....

Holding back tears when Takemichi was so afraid yet decided to try & save Hina even tho he knew he wasn’t obligated to since they weren’t even dating in the future & when he stood up & challenged the leader to prevent Takuya from fighting. I don’t want to keep seeing them getting all battered up my heart hurts!!!!! He is so brave! He is so afraid but trying to save them all. I like him already.

I have to change, or nothing else will.

Can’t wait to see the leaders.....I really like Suzuki Tatsuhisa’s character design β™‘_____β™‘

I like the concept but so far I’m not as impressed as I thought I would be for this series. I know nothing about Tokyo Revengers but I do know about it’s hype ever since “The Masked Man” spoke about it on YouTube. Hoping that I enjoy episode 3 when it comes out otherwise I might have to drop it or just read the manga.
