@ people who think Gojou was talking about his type... You're going WRONG LMAO. He's not a creep.
Utahime would've smacked the shit outta him as she's very protective of her students, plus it seems more like Gojou was asking about the name of "a certain nice girl with unusual bangs who took a selfie with him".

Toudou is such a dork, I love it.... Itadori held his ground against Toudou, Pretty impressive. Panda and Nobara taunting Nishimiya lol. The Jujutsu Stroll was nice.

Excited to see some Panda-Senpai action next episode :)

Agreed. The tournament has no goals, no rewards, no consequences and no stakes. The Tokyo students already figured out the Kyoto students' intentions and the tournament has barely begun. Compared to Chunin Exams or even MHA tournament arc, this is extremely underwhelming.

Of course the tournament has a goal, to see which of Tokyo or Kyoto is better, seeing who is better between the participants is literally the goal of a tournament you know, and that's the case for every tournament out there lmao. There's also the goal of killing Itadori, you're going to say" wE AlreAdy kNow iT's nOt gOing tO HaPpen", that doesn't matter if it happens or not, it's a goal. Plus "This exchange event will allow you to learn about yourselves and your comrades"(ep.14 , you probably missed or ignored that line) so it's basically training, so at the end there is 3 goals that you missed, don't thank me it's alright.

No consequences ? Yeah duh it just started, you already want the aftermath ????? There will be consequences once the tournament is over because you know things need to happen for their consequences to exist.....

Rewards aren't necessary in a tournament, especially school tournament, the purpose of a tournament to begin with is only to see which participants is better.

"Compared to Chunin Exams or even MHA tournament arc" yeah comparing a tournament that has just begun and in which you don't know what's going to happen to tournaments already completed in which you know everything about is logic

And what's the point of getting to know which school is better? Are they a profit organization? What do the winning school get? Do the characters themselves have any personal goals to achieve? Do they get a rank or something as in Chunin Exams? Are they going to get recognition as in UA sports festival? We don't know. The characters don't know. They don't care. I don't care. A vague goal of "getting to learn about yourselves and your comrades" just doesn't cut it, especially when it's not shown why that is important or helpful.

What are the possible consequences to losing the tournament? There are no tangible rewards or penalties for losing. We know that this tournament can't really be detrimental to either school and their students since there is already a low number of jujutsu sorcerers available. There are no stakes because the plan is to kill Yuuji and we all know he isn't going to die. You making light of my argument doesn't make it any less valid. Lol.

You say this is training but they already learn way more by fighting real curses in real world situations unlike in say MHA Festival where you can make that case. There is no perilous terrain to conquer. It doesn't feel like they are in an unknown place where anything could happen. No sense of real danger from the opponents . All of which can be found in Chunin or Hunter Exams. Characters joking around and not caring doesn't help either.

The thing is these should be defined and made clear before the tournament has started not after it has ended or when it's underway. Also, it would greatly help if the characters themselves show concrete interest and drive to win. How am I supposed to root for someone if they themselves aren't rooting for themselves?

It's supposed to be a friendly exchange between school, so nothing special, don't tell me it's the first time you've heard of it ? It's happen frequently in anime and irl and what's the point of it ? It's just entertainment, keeping contact with other schools etc..and since when school are profit organizations? you're trying too hard. And Miwa said it in this episode to Maki, that she's basically going to do her best to be promoted because she's poor so yeah it tells you that their ranks can possibly go up=more money, that's why teachers and principals are watching.

Just wait for the end to see the consequence of this tournament no? You don't know what's going to happen and you're already whining about the end. Consequences aren't necessary in the form of rewards/penalties, if you can't wait, go ahead and read the manga or I can spoil you, if you just don't care you can just drop it, if not just wait for the events to unfold and see what the consequences will be.

It's training duh, even if they already fight curses outside they have to train when they don't no ? That's the same thing for sports... And it's their unique occasion to train by fighting other jujutsu sorcerers with which they aren't used to, fighting sorcerers with possible unknown abilities isn't the the same as fighting curses, they don't come across curses who can do teamworks frequently you know, curses that can think like humans etc..

Drive to win ? Would they train if they didn't have it? We know for a fact that Nobara and Fushiguro trained hard because they thought Itadori was dead, we know Itadori wants to be stronger because of Junpei so they're doing or are going to do their best. We know the Tokyo school are going to do their best to protect Itadori while trying to win, that why they split up, if they didn't care about winning they would have kept Inumaki with them since he's the strongest. We know Miwa and her brothers are poor so she wants to be promoted so she wants to win, you'll eventually get to know about the others characters when the focus will be on them.

"Characters joking around and not caring doesn't help either." Joking means not caring ?????????

This arc feels very meaningless after the whole Junpei stuff. I wonder which are we going to see more: the dramatic arcs with a few characters or the more shonen arcs focusing on a bunch of nobodies to the story like this one. In any case, as some people said above, this tournament feels extremely meh. I can´t get out of my head how this series is basically a more japanese ao no exorcist with a few bleach strokes here and there.

However, for the first time in 15 episodes I laughed at a joke. The whole reason why Todo likes Itadori now is because he is also a man of culture? hilarious.

Btw, is Mappa trying to put Gojo in jail or something?

Their dynamics are great. That boy literally cried after hearing Itadori say he likes tall women with a big ass 😭.

The fact that this episode catches me off guard, in the first few minutes, as far as the narrative is concerned, would already be enough to promote it. The narrative, although excessively comical, does not spoil the tense atmosphere that transpires during it, which suggests in the viewer that the situation is serious without it being confused about what is happening. The whole episode was therefore very enjoyable, even with some really gory moments during the narration. The cliffhanger puts a lot of expectations into the next episode and that's all well and good, yay! During Todo's dream, the figure of Antonio Inoki is mentioned, what a nostalgia!

Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event Battle has begun and from the get-go, the Tokyo students are ambushed by Todou's ambitious style of attack. Taking them all at once, well that is until Itadori himself took it upon himself to solo this beer cake.

The highlight of the ep to me is the question Todou asked to Itadori, and Itadori's response. I've been waiting for this! I knew Todou would be best buds with Itadori, knowing his preference in women, but damn, didn't realize that Todou would imagine an entire scenario with him being best friends with Itadori! LMAO!

Aside from that, we got treated to a brief, yet intense hand to hand combat between the two new best friends. It's interesting how Todou would go all out on Itadori, being best friends and all, but at the same time, encourages him to improve his skills. See, this is what every best friend should do. Not some cheap all-around attack to kill Itadori, but a straight honest and manly duel!

The thing is, is Jennifer Lawrence even tall... or even have a big ass... LOL. Anyway even the man sebastian stan getting some love, what even is this anime??

One thing that I'd like to point out is that while we do have really solid action, it's not the same as scenes such as let's say when levi takes down the female titan. It's only a few seconds of action but it carries so much weight to it, will he be able to take her down? Does he know that she's planning to strike? Will he be ready for it? Will he manage to save eren? There's just such an intense build up to those few seconds of action that it makes it even better. Or maybe if you want to take movies think about Sicario and the border scene. It's like over ten minutes of build up to the shoot out that ends in like a split second. It's all about the build up to a climax that makes the climax even better. Here in jujutsu kaisen it's great looking action but that seems like that is it's only purpose, to look good.

Looking at the animation alone, it's amazing, done so well, couldn't ask for more. Just doesn't carry as much weight as I might have hoped for. Don't get me wrong, I've been loving this so much, it's just a damn good time and a visual treat. So ready to slap a solid 8/10 on this when this season finishes.

I just realized after this episode that this anime is doing a really good job at taking traditional shounen elements and making them good. It's not a very original story but it has a good execution when it's not being original. It also feels more realistic and straightforward than past shounens that could revert into cartoons pretty fast. It gives me FMA vibes where there was humour and troupes but characters felt real and the plot seemed serious, and the episodes had super strong moments very early which is not something you see in shounen often.

It's a modern shounen that appeals to the current generation, animated to perfection.

I finally decided to return watching this series and my god, I forgot how much the characters were annoying. The only part I've enjoyed from this pathetic attempt of showing their "charisma" was on the whole "bff sequence" that at least made me smile a bit. Other than that, its just battle shounen tropes that immediately makes me turned off. It's not a writing flaw, its just dumb, like the last scene that annoyed me so much:

- "Are you ok with you not being my bff?"

- "I kind of don't care"

- "Are you ok with not being sTrONgEr?

*Epic music starts playing* - "I CARE"

Like seriously, is it to hard for the story focus more on why he wants to be stronger (protect people around them) instead of the fact he wants to be stronger (aka being generic)? Man, I miss Junpei arc.

Todo's such a fun idiot. Really enjoyed how far they went with his response to Itadori's answer (the same as Todo's earlier, though Itadori specifies Jennifer Lawrence, which is also the second time he's brought up fancying her). He's a fun character to have on-screen. I'm also liking Miwa a good deal too, one thing I like about the principal orders are seeing the different reactions from the class mates. Admittedly there's not as much variance as I would've liked but I quite enjoyed having exceptions like Todo and Miwa.

I'm certain that anime, as a concept, was invented with a singular purpose: to progressively build on years and years of collected experience, readying itself, perfecting itself, as it crawled toward its omega point: Todo's dream.

A one on one against Toudo, I thought he would never ask, but he did and went to a "dream" scene lol and started spewing out lines like Yuuji is his best friend which I can't blame him for having a similar taste in women

They're trying to kill Yuuji and the Tokyo group realized that now and went back for him but I doubt Yuuji would die that easy

Now this proceeds to the next event might finish off this brawny fight that Yuuji and Toudo have

This was so boring with the exception of the moment when Megumi attacked Momo and him and Maki had that little exchange against the dull guy from the other school and the "I'm poor :')" blue-haired girl.
What's the point of the "let's kill Itadori" thing when is not going to happen and there's no way any of them is a threat to him since Toudou's response was going to be predictable positive when it comes to Itadori's type and now they are just in some weird bro-bonding moment.

I saw it from a mile away that Todou and Itadori would become besto friendo. All it needed was a tall woman with a big ass lol. That flashback was pure gold, loved it. :D

At the very least the assassination got prevented, if we're not taking Todou into account, who seemed to acknowledge Itadori's strength, as well as his weakness. Maybe the fight against Todou will bring Itadori's cursed blast on another level without the time lag.

Miwa is such a honest girl. In my eyes she would fit way more into the Tokyo school.

Let's see what will happen next.
