Ugh. This show had so much potential until these last few episodes.

First of all, Kyouya choosing to go back in the past again just doesn't make sense. Are they seriously implying that Kyouya is sacrificing his loving daughter, just so he can "feel the pain"? Is the author of this story a sociopath? I know they need him to "remake his life", but this plot point simply doesn't make any sense. Hell, it would made more sense if Keiko turned out to be an evil time wizard who is here to fuck with Kyouya.

Speaking of Keiko, are we seriously not going to get an explanation as to who she is? Like, not even a hint or an implication as to who and why she is doing all of this? I figured that that would be an important concept.

Secondly, I don't get why this show keeps pushing this theme of "artists can't be good parents". Why is the idea of ShinoAki being a mother and also an artist such a hard concept for this universe to grasp? The scene where ShinoAki tells Kyouya that she wants to start drawing again, but might need his help to watch the daughter makes no sense. In fact, artist is probably a job that allows you to be a good parent, since you have the ability to work from home.

On the topic of ShinoAki; if future ShinoAki is having motivations to start drawing again, wouldn't that give less of an incentive for Kyouya to go back in the past? One of the main incentive for Kyouya to go back is because he wants ShinoAki to keep drawing, but if future ShinoAki is wanting to draw, why the fuck not stay in the future and let her draw?

And finally, he goes back and tries to make everything right. Except this show isn't even clear as to what he's doing different now. So he's kind of forcing Nanako to be more independent, I get that. But as far as ShinoAki and Tsurayuki, there is no explanation. Instead, we get to see him flirting with Kawasegawa. Maybe in this time loop, he can marry Kawasegawa and have a cute daughter with her and give ShinoAki the middle finger.

Rant over.

"This time I'm not going to use my 'power' (which is really not a power but just annoying OP protagonist being able to solve any problem for his harem with a little hard work) & knowledge to help my friends - they need to be independent." Travels back in time to after everything is all fucked with the game and proceeds to literally use his knowledge of the future to course correct the timeline.

After the back to the future twist I thought for a bit that the writing was being self aware and saying "look guys this is what really happens when you have OP protagonist that solves everything for everybody", but that dissolved pretty quickly.

Hmmm lately i fell interested with kawasegawa. she was like a pillar of support for kyouya. I'm quite interested in seeing her future progress, what kind of character will she be? I think it will hurt a little if it ends in one-sided love.....hope get season 2

0 explication about how Keiko make Kyouya go back in the past... Power who came from nowhere.
Without that i like this anime in the start but at the end with the return in present and now go again in the past i'm a little lost
the good point is the fan service with the 3 pretty girls XD (who love the MC of course lol)

With how much needed to be addressed and fixed, I knew that a season 2 was going to be needed.

So I guess I'm having trouble understanding the conflict here. Kyouya went back to the past and didn't want to end up being a loser again with no creative outlet. So when he was faced with adversity, he met it head on instead of cowering away or giving up. He didn't want to squander his second chance. This in turn caused him to be reliable and to the others, amazing, as he always found a solution to whatever problem was thrown at them.

Then when the project came along, Kyouya unknowingly suppressed their artistic passions which ultimately made everyone feel down. That much is understandable. But why is it that this singular project caused Shiroyuki and Shinoaki to just outright quit their lifelong passions? I'm sorry, but that makes both of them complete cowards.

Then Kyouya is sent to the future, where he has to bear the consequences of his "actions". He then feels guilty about influencing the trio in such a way that they give up on their careers. But then Kawasegawa gives him a talk about how in reality he did nothing wrong and should realize how great he is. OK I guess? Then she talks about the things her did wrong, but they were off screen; like chasing after Shirayuki, not supporting Nanako, and not telling Shinoaki to keep drawing.

I get why they would feel down or frustrated with how Kyouya directed them in the project. But that shouldn't be enough to kill any of the love they had for their respective fields. So none of it really clicks with me. At least Kawasegawa got a time to shine. I always really liked her.

I really liked the show when it started, because the basic premise is something every single person can relate to. Everyone would like a chance to go back and do it over again with the knowledge they have now so they can avoid the mistakes and failures from the first time. But I really feel like this great premise was squandered. It started to really lose me after the second time leap. Because I knew that Kyouya would have to go back and make things right, so whatever happened in this future would be taken away. Because of that, I couldn't really get invested in what was going on.

I did tear up a bit with his goodbye to his wife and daughter. That's a tough situation no matter how you slice it. But in the end when he does go back, it doesn't seem like much has changed. Will he continue to being amazing and everyone will have to deal with it? Doesn't seem like much of a change.

I would like to see a season 2 just so we can see how things play out. I want to see Shinoaki get back into art especially. We never even learned about the time lord loli either.

Overall, I had quite a bit of fun the first half of the season and I enjoyed the premise. Couple that with it's terrific art style and character design and above average animation, and I thought this would be something that could be special. But once it hit that second half, things felt jumbled and weird.

I overall liked the show from the start, even though review-slammers showed up early saying it was shit, wasted potential, pandering etc.

It got weird sometime after the first half, the part that was really gonna define the story and provide drama, trigger points and catharsis.
Too much weird jap anime logic. MC works hard and helps everyone to the best of his abilites, but maybe a bit too much and maybe quells too much of their artistic integrity in their one single project - and they all somehow lose their lifelong passion over that. They didn't even spend that much time together yet at that point, and would have still had to face that in the original timeline.

MC gets told by different support characters that he did his best and did nothing wrong, he took everyones wishes into account. Then he's also told his wishes were egotistical so don't do it again. Then gets sent back to do it all over again.. again.

And from the last ep I don't see that much difference. He still plans to help everyone as much as he can, maybe just a slight tad less than before to not make them completely dependent on him.

I didn't have high hopes for the show but I enjoyed the optimism of the first half and found it entertaining, sad to say the second half and the last ep feels like a jumbled mess.

Perfectly put. Wraps up my thoughts exactly. Too much weird logic to keep up with that just drug down the fairly good first half of the series.

I don't know but this is just my opinion....Before Kyouya returned to the future, Kawasegawa asked "Which of the two of them do you like?" and kyouya still doubted that. what he felt for them was not that kind of relationship.

and suddenly kyouya goes to the future without any memories, and maybe he still doesn't have feelings of love for shinoaki. because he went through all the important events that build his relationship with Shinoaki, so what made him fall in love and decide to marry Shinoaki?

And Why did he choose to go to the past again?

Kyouya said to keiko "i don't want to go back to the past because i want to be happy, And it's not about getting a pretty girl"

so yeah...maybe marrying shinoaki isn't his first priority, she doesn't want to feel her own happiness. what he wants is happiness for him and his friends who are also his idols

maybe he feels it's his little family just a role play
but judging by kyouya's personality he still fulfills his obligations and responsibilities as a father. because after all shinoaki and maki are her family in this timeline.

Well this is just my personal opinion

Ngl I liked Remake Our Life and really glad it didn't go down the path I thought it was going to. The first couple episodes had pacing issues but the last episodes felt really good in slow pacing. I don't think this anime is as good as other time travelling shows I watched but I might think that way simply because how different it is compared to the other shows.

Either way this anime needs a season 2. I'm relieved it didn't pull a fake happy ending like Re:Zero. We need to see real best girl Tsurayuki succeed!

Meh, what sort of ending is that? Are they on some kind of hopium for another season or what? Jee. I'd rather the MC interacted with the future Tsurayuki, made him write again and end the story on a good note. Why end this in such vague and unsatisfying manner? The audience already has mixed feelings about the show but with this ending the production made it turn to the worse!

Kyouya not going to ask the real question here? What in the world is Keiko??

Either way, I am not a fan of the way they ended it. Obviously he was going to go back in time again to set things right before he destroyed everyone's dreams and goals. It kinda hurts that he had to say goodbye to Maki, his very own daughter he had with Shinoaki.

Now I really hope that a second season will be a thing for this show in the future. As he went back in time again, he met the past self of Minori Ayaka. This is why he managed to fix Shinoaki's problem with not knowing what to draw anymore. Also seemed to have made Nanako more independent as well. But oh do I want to see the Kawasegawa route. I need a second season for this alone.

That cliffhanger of Kyouya meeting Tsurayuki when he walks out of a theater really left with a feeling of "That's it?" Either way, cause of the slightly disappointing ending, it's still an 7/10 from me and praying a season 2 does happen.

- "I have no regrets."
- "What about your daughter?"
- "Oh, right. I guess I should say goodbye."

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FLYING FCUK?!

Everyone was living happy life, yet they still have to live a life he invisioned for then?! What a moron!
And on top of that, he basically murdered his daughter by erasing her from existence. This is some Future Dairy level of bullshit!

Re:Zero fake happy ending? I don't get it.
Please don't spoil if it's something from the LN. I've only watched the anime.

Don't worry it's not a ln reference, it's specifically anime reference xD So there won't be 'spoilers' that you don't know already. But I'd suggest anyone who's not familiar with Re:ZERO to skip this comment cos it wouldn't make much sense otherwise.

The original run of Re:ZERO Season 1 ended before the LN volume 9 released so it kind of overadapted things. Episode 25 of the anime ends before Arc 3 properly closes. If you watched Director's Cut of Season 1 then you'll see there's a special post-credits scene which was included in the first episode of Season 2. Actually Arc 4 doesn't truly start until like the 2nd episode of Season 2.
So you could say the ending of the og anime pulled a fake "happily ever after" because the dragon cart scene with Emilia was anything but a "happy ending."

Unfortunately Season 2 Part 2 is also guilty of this as important scenes that properly ends Arc 4 were cut and I guess they will be included as intro to Season 3 instead (which is currently unconfirmed) which imo severely undermines things because the endings of each Re:ZERO Arcs (usually) smoothly transitions in to the next Arc. There's a small possibility we might never see the true ending of Arc 4 and the anime might just continue without it (if it ever continues).

The ending of Season 2/Arc 4 could've been the biggest "what the fuck" moment in 2021 but instead White Fox/Kadokawa pulled a fairy tale ending :( I'd suggest watching Echidnut's video on it if you can't wait since we don't know when a season 3 would be made.

Remake Our Life on the other hand does a proper cliffhanger that sets up a potential season 2 by Studio feel.

Could have been a solid 8/10, which I imagine to be the case with the LN, but I feel a 7/10 is more fitting given some of the shortcomings of the adaptation and the "read the LN" ending.

Reading novels in Japanese is still a bit rough for me, but I might actually bite the bullet and give the LN a try eventually.

Well it's a bit sad when the ending feels like the beginning, but even with this ending I can give this anime 8. Nice slice of life story, with a bit realistic approach to the creation process and the issues involved. Well, maybe apart from time travel stuff. I think it will be explained later. Of course, if we get second season (or part 2).

Plus. This show looks very nice. Niceu jobu feel (^_^)

So Keiko is a time traveler that gave Kyouya another chance to change his and his friends life. It was time to make things right. When he returned home, Shino had already made an art for Maki, so things were already changing.

He decided that he had to make his friends independent. Starting with Nanako, Kyouya gave her the choice to what she should do to the offer for the soundtrack. Shino was a bit harder to convince, but hopefully it will work. The thing here is with Rokuonji... Will he change his mind? I really hope so.

Kawasegawa's scene after credits was so cute and beautiful. Her bonds with Kyouya were already strong 10 years before. Minori was so different! That was unexpected... Who knew she was shy at the college eh.

After all, this anime was good to watch. Very light and chilling. I had a good time. I just want to see other minor characters that vanished from the anime. But let's wait for a 2nd season.

Muito bom, gostei.

ngl, I cried a bit when he went to see Shinoaki and Maki for the last time. Most people probably wouldn't choose to go back in time to correct their mistakes when they have a loving spouse, a family, a stable job that they enjoy, and a pretty decent house. Also, Shinoaki started to draw again in the future, so I wonder if Kyouya could have just started to fix things from there. Not to mention that Nanako had started to sing and upload videos again.

Pretty decent overall, and i'm looking forward to another season if there ever is one.

The final episode was alright, I honestly thought it was painful to see him say goodbye to mommy Shinoaki and Maki tho, because sure, even tho he doesn’t have memories of marrying Shinoaki or having Maki, that’s still a tough af thing to do. The 2nd half of the episode he finally went back to college romcom life and is slowly trying to help the platinums get their mojo back and not have them depend on him. Interesting that they didn’t go back to before the game development but I can see why they didn’t, he did say he didn’t want to cheat after all. And of course they leave us on a read the source bait ending, but it wasn’t the worst ending. Also loved that final scene with Kawasegawa.

I honestly really loved it when it was just college romcom, before the game development. I thought this could be one of the best shows this season, but then the game stuff happened and the 2nd time jump happened. Now don’t get me wrong, I did like some parts of the game development and I did enjoy the 2nd time jump arc, but IMO this could have been a lot better without the 2nd jump, I think he coulda learned from his mistakes without seeing the future. Also Keiko being the source of how he’s time traveling is kinda odd, but I’m mostly fine with that.

But, as for my overall score, I’m probably gonna give an 8/10, like I said absolutely loved the college stuff, it was a breath of fresh air for a romcom/sol, but the 2nd half of the anime kinda lost me a little bit, so I think the 8 is a good score for this. Also, once again the blue haired waifu is beat out by a red haired waifu, Kawasegawa was my best girl for sure. And while unlikely, I would like to see another season of this.

Also the OP was one of the bests this season imo, ED was good too.

For now i give 8/10 because the REAL "Remake Our Life" just started at final episode. This season most likely about remake his life only but later he regreted because of his own mistake.

I really depress when he should leave the timeline where Maki is exist. I just hoping that she will back and he will choose shinoaki. I still dont who is freaking female main, either Kawasegawa or Shinoaki since both are getting spotlight at the first episod. If there are no sequel for anime adaptation, so time to read LN for sure.

This show was ridiculous around it's mid point and went completely bonkers in these last episodes. I laughed so hard how terribly writen and directed the last episode was with Mr Gary Stu saving a gaming company that he decided not to get involved previously with the most deus ex kind of solutions. And now this finale just reflects even more how this show always was some sort of cheesy harem anime based on what should had been a cheap dating sim just like the cheesy games they produced in their gaming studios of the show.

If there was a dictionary for anime characters, there would be a photo of Kyouya under the concept of hypocrisy. Nothing out of his last soliloqui makes sense, he claims he doesn't want to be a hero nor save anyone, yet he goes back in time trying to "fix" something that's not broken, but because it clashes with his vision of what a perfect timeline should've been completely erasing his daughter and whatever happiness Shinoaki had while marrying him as her perfect husband.

Also, I'm normally not a nitpicky guy when it comes to time travel shows with little to no base on how the time travel works, but come on, everything is based on the whim of a Gary Stu self insert and some random loli whose powers' and actual volition to help MC aren't explained or at the very least hinted? Talk about quality writing in characters that serve no purpouse other than being walking plot devices.

Kyouya ended up going back to the past after all and honestly I don't commend his decision. Shino Aki started to draw again in the future meaning that even in the present he could have changed things for the better and most of all now if Shino Aki and Kyouya doesn't end up together again, Maki will never be born damn it. Other than that this didn't really feel like a finale and heck they even left us on a cliffhanger.

Decent season overall, enjoyed it quite a bit. Now hopefully we'll get a new season someday.

To be honest maki will never gonna born in this time line even if they ended up together. For a clear view try watching "about time" movie. And If kyouya did stayed in the future he could have change shinoaki r life but that's not the case for tsurayuki, that was too late. But another thing is, that timeline was not his actual timeline. He was in his 3rd time line. So I guess that decision was better in some respects

People seem confused about Keiko. Her likely identity can be explained in three scenes in EP1, EP10, and E12. But basically, she is a magical girl / spirit made real from that drawing in EP1, a fable Shinoaki tells Maki in EP10.

Kyouya's decision was bad move for me! it's like killing that timeline! btw i'm not bias because of the adorable Maki & waifu Shinoabitch, but to me it looks like he gave-up that timeline which is = to leaving your woman and daughter to banishment...oh well...so many said this show is bad...looks like it.
that epilogue! Kyouya's now a womanizer!
5/10.

My man quit his life of having a hot wife, a cute child and an well-paid jon just so his friends can continue doing their dreams... Hm not bad, Kirito-clone, not bad at all.

Pretty good season ender, though a lot of plot points are still not resolved so I hope there's a second season someday.

I don't know why people are immediately jumping the gun and assuming Kyouya killed Maki and that timeline by going back, for all we know the timeline continues on. We don't really know how the time travel completely works. I like how Kyouya at least spent some time with Shinoaki and Aki before he went back.

I thought we were gonna go back to the start, but thank God he just goes back to where left off. Of course Kyouya still tries to help people, but this time letting them express their individuality, so he can achieve his goal of making the best possible project with all of them. If we ever get a season 2, I hope we get more project making and just general college stuff. 8/10

Imagine leaving your wife and child just to play around in college again. Fuckin' hell mate.

Well he only knew them for a couple of months but I get your point lol.

Overall, the anime was fine. It was annoying to see him be so perfect, but by not letting the others have the freedoms they needed to grow, which we saw when he went to the future, kinda payed off for me.

I like the idea of Keiko giving him a second chance after seeing what it did. It seems she only granted him this power because he would use it responsibly. Meaning he wouldn't use it in corrupt ways like by using his knowledge of the future to make it easier on his own personal life. IDK if I need anymore backstory on Keiko.

Torn on what score to give it. Definitely some episodes I didn't like; mainly the episodes of him in the future. The cliffhanger ending was questionable. I would have been fine with just the show ending as it did, but the cliffhanger just tells us we're getting a 2nd season (if this does well enough). Should have left out the cliffhanger scene, and if another season comes around, cool. But now they just kinda ruined the end of 1st season if there is no 2nd.

Probably a 6/10 for me. Not an anime I would go out recommending people to watch.

How come he doesn't even question who Keiko is? Did his flashback from last episode seriously answered it??

I hate how he assumed everyone else's life is miserable because they're not popular creators in this timeline. Also, by the end of this episode, both Shinoaki and Nanako are back creating again while also thanking Kyoya (Nanako talked about how he started because of Kyoya, and Shinoaki draws again after playing the game Kyoya recommended). I really don't see the point of him going back to the past again.

Anyways, it was fun to watch every week for all the wrong reasons for me. Episode 9 was a pleasant surprise, but went downhill again and overall the story was just bad. Will probably skip season 2 if it ever comes out.

I thought the "lesson" they're going with was how to accept things and move forward but instead MC gets yet another free chance. Cmon man atleast have him kill himself to activate the time reset or something.

Also a cheap display of "emotional moment" which is completely unnecessary by the way, since at ep11 things started to pick up, Nanako started singing again and Shinoaki started drawing again. Why show those if the timeline's gonna get erased? Oh right, it's so MC can get a new outlook and learn his lesson lmao, what a selfish dude.

Overall 5/10 should go with Kawasegawa route

The ending was left incomplete. Hopefully we will get a continuation of some sort but I prefer endings like this to ones that are rushed or anime-original.

6/10 for now

Nothing happened, this is so plain. I don't even think anything major happened in these 12 episodes, its so boring. Just remove the drama tag.
I decided to keep watching because of episode 8, but it just became really lackluster. Shame
I guess regularass slice of life isnt my cup of tea

I will say, the ending of this episode does leave a lot unanswered, which could mean that a second season could be made. If so, then I'd definitely watch it. The ending that we got here was still good, although it felt a tad unfinished because of said issues.

Regardless, it's good that Kyouya finally has a goal that he can aim for without having any regrets. However, it did mean he had to say goodbye to the 2018 timeline, mainly his wife Shino as well as their daughter. I'm still a Nanako fan more than the other girls here, but this was a a bit of a touching scene between them, that's for sure.

Overall, I enjoyed what this series had to offer, although it felt a weaker later on. Aside from acting like an arse to Nanako early on, Kawasegawa was pretty strong as a character later on, especially in he 2018 timeline, so she's grown on me more now. As for Keiko, if this series does get a second season, I hope it answered just who Keiko actually is.

I'm split between a 7 or an 8 overall. I'll come back in a few months and score it by then. XD

So ends the best route of Kyoya's life. He gonna aim for a balanced happy future eh. Hope he finds what he's looking for.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

kyouya is a freaking liar, a womanizer, and a cheater. he promised shinoaki to support her drawing career and let her draw freely again, but then in the next days he just fled back to the past what a piece of shit.
