I was more excited finishing this episode than I was looking forward to watching this, everything felt underwhelming

Also Celia slipping was by far the worst slip animation I had ever seen. This does not even feel like an Isekai either...

2/10

At least I can get behind the fact that the fight between Rio and Aishia was good

No wait, I change my mind, 1/10, how could I had forgotten their worst Isekai language thats literally in reverse Japanese?

But then again, I guess the genre tagged as Isekai isn't wrong after seeing the end, so 2/10

From the begining of this anime seeing the opening and ending theme songs I wondered how are they gonna fit the first 5 LN volumes in 12 episodes. In the ending of episode 9 I learned how, they changed the story (not really happy about that). I was really hyped about this anime at the begining but got let down. I'm giving this anime a 6/10 review and I think I'm being generous since this is a story that is close to my heart. As for this last episode I was satisfied how it was keeping with the original story till the ending part that crashed me in the bottom of the sea. I'm sad 😢

Don't know why some people didn't like the anime imo i find so great, maybe cuz i like isekai animes, anyway the ending was kinda shocked and depends on it, it's supposed to be season 2 and i'm really really excited for it, with resurrection rio's childhood friend i think it's gonna be weird for cilea and all girls who like rio xd, honestly i don't know how to rate an anime but from how much i enjoyed it i give it 10/10 without a doubt

Crashing the wedding and saving the damsel in distress, outside of the cliffhanger its a fitting end for a generic series. However not just any generic Isekai as we got a Kirito-clone as mc character. But I gotta give credit for some adorable character designs (Flora, Latifa) which I really wanted to headpat.

Celia: "Then, will you marry me instead, Rio?"
Celia: "Or will you take me somewhere and live the rest of your life with me?"
Rio: "Consider it as done"

Liselotte needs more screen time. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Hero summoning placement kinda cool, Miharu rescue not. Rio going berserk on those slave traders felt really out of place, if it happened after he steeled himself to take revenge in the Yagumo region like in the original it may not be the case but it didnt so...

Anyways, it's not horribly botched or anything like other adaptations Ive seen so it's a decent adaptation I guess?

Finally the rare decent animation, Alfred's quite skilled & cool Excalibur.
Rio amazing stamina all that running & fights, saves both his sensei waifu then old world waifu.
6 isekai groups? Mi reunion & she's split or different from Aisha???

So far decently fun adventure of finding mc's roots, mix of depressing episodes & pleasant sol. There's finally justice on Arbor, but it's hardly a revenge plot, more like coming of age. OP suggested too many characters, but 'geniously' this show abandons each waifu for new journey, that allows enough characterization for his main group. Needs s2 tho.

I felt this anime was all over the place... and probably the most cliff hanger ending ever. I did enjoy bits and pieces of it.. but overall a chaotic mess. The best thing that came out of the show was the nice ED song. Still hope for a S2.. just so many unfinished plotlines and the show keeps throwing more and more then the credits roll lmao.

This anime is basically "Shield Hero gone wrong" (and I don't even find Shield hero to be good).

Both have the main character having to flee (from being wrongly accused) but in Shield Hero, the impact of this wrong accusation has an impact on the plot for several tome (and impact on the character). In Serei, it's basically just a convenient way for Rio to start his journey.

Both have the main character getting a demi-human girl as an ally (I think Latifa is "inspired" by Raphtalia).

Both have the main character being the only "good guy", while the other male are just bad. Shield hero has 3 stupid hero, stupid king... Serei has basically every single male being either a (attempted) rapist, a (attempted) kidnapper, a (attempted) guy who force girl into political marriage.

Serei is just basically a way worse version of Shield Hero. While Naofumi starts out weak, Rio is overpowered from the start. While Naofumi had trouble trusting Raphtalia, Rio trust Latifa after a few minutes. Naofumi has to be resourceful to be alive to earn money, Rio doesn't even mention money. Naofumi has to win ally/trust by saving village from wave, saving people from attempted assassination, from imprisonment while dealing with political matters... Rio just has to exist for having everything he wants.

Shield hero has a "goal", surviving wave, Serei is just Rio deciding to move around whenever he wants. Shield hero has actual "ennemy", Serei has just random beast to fight or some unknown soldier.

Shield hero has "power level", Serei has just Rio having the level the authors wants at the time.

Shield hero has a main character with an actual personality who is not a saint. While Rio shows one time (against the rapist guy) he could not be that nice, that's not nearly enough.

And remember, I don't consider shield hero to be good. I tried reading the light novel but they are so boring... Shield hero had only the first few episode being noteworthy...

Serei had so much more problem that it's not even funny. They build up villain who have no impact, Rio deciding to come back to see Clelia one day before her marriage is... out of 4 years...

Anyway, 4/10. 2 points because Tifalia was cute, 2 points because Celia was cute in her wedding dress.

Really good episode, I must say.

Overall I do believe the anime was quite fast-paced, but I dont think it really lowered the quality of the anime, it was still good.

Lots of unanswered questions, and that ending...

Though, they made it feel more than just a generic isekai, I am highly looking forward to a second season for this series.

oh, and of course it just had to end right when Mii-chan gets to this world. What a cliffhanger! AAAAAAA I need to see what comes next!

Overall this would be a 5/10 or 6/10, but they did something to make it seem more meaningful and they made the world actually interesting, despite it being rushed as hell. 7/10

I usually gravitate towards the not quite op characters but the intelligent ones. I prefer those who think several steps ahead. I thought this anime had potential to be more than just an isekai harem, but one where the mc can liberate a kingdom or 2. If it ends here, we’ll never see the wyvern army or mc’s revenge… yet we get multiple versions of an OP demon lord sllime and friends….

Just binged the show, to be honest, it was a fun ride, despite the fact that the show could have taken more time for the storytelling and that I wish for more protagonist's personality.

Anyway, I kinda dislike how the ending just cut off like that, that's a big cliffhanger without a sequel announcement. lol

Man what a shit ending

Why the fuck did Rio not use his sword

How can you finish an anime series like that wtf that wasn't even an ending like fuck. It's not even a cliffhanger it's complete shit. The studio made no effort at all into wrapping up the story or give the viewers any closure. Do they think the viewers are retarded? No explanation at all was given to the beams in the sky.

The first couple episodes when Rio was in the kingdom being a pussy was complete shit and I almost dropped it, then it got better once he left the kingdom. It was going alright until now when they completely fucked up the ending. Fuck me this is ass

This show was a complete mess. Unfinished plotlines everywhere, unexplained characters. The show keeps giving more until the end.

The only good thing that came out of watching this was the ending song and parts of the soundtrack. Everything else is shit

This was just Disrespect to the max., I feel sad for the author cuz she did real good with the LN and then she's given something like this.. Total Disrespect to her and the source material..

Not bad, growing through different stages of live is best part of this anime. they do have some anticipatory episode ending which keep me intrigued and production quality is decent.Other than that it not very special, girls keep on increasing and so does cringe factor.

I have to say this anime felt more similar to those chinese xianxia plot line rather than normal japanese isekai types

My mother and Rio even steal the bride now, no longer how they steal it, and give you the reward of returning it. Usi However, he also fought against that without even pulling out his sword, or seriously attacking them because if he did, there would be no trace of them left. 😎 However, right now all the people from Japan appear here, and they are kidnapped by those searches, until they make Rio dust. 😂😂

The ANIME is 7/10 at most for me,
I recommend reading LN it was so good like wtf the anime adaption is not good.
Welp hope there season 2, if there is I hope it gets better.
Cuz THE MAIN STORY STARTS WITH THE HERO SUMMONING,
So basically season 1 is like a PROLOGUE.
Well nevertheless I kinda enjoy the ANIME.

Why does the author think anyone watching/reading this gives a single shit about his childhood friend? His attachment to her doesn't even make any sense. Logically at the age they left each other, he should barely even remember her and he only saw her in passing once afterwards without even talking.

Seriously, the only emotion tied to her with the vast majority of the fans of this series is annoyance that he takes up any of his attention. He's got this amazing waifu we all love here, and these awesome episodes rescuing her. Instead of enjoying a nice aftermath scene, we have to deal with some stupid girl that he was friends with when he was 7 that we have absolutely no reason to care about.

She is literally the reason I take a whole point or two off of the rating of this show. She makes the MC a serious retard. Not only is him being hung up on a girl that he was so young he shouldn't even remember much of not make sense. Him being hung up on a girl from his previous world that he has absolutely no reason to ever end up in this world makes even less sense. It's unbelievably stupid.

Oh well, there wasn't as much action as i expected but still a satisfying ending. The fact that we will have a 2s saves this so much, because if this was the final ending of the series, oh boy...
So all this time i was thinking that Aisha is Japanese i was wrong? How do they do this, or better saying, why? I do hope we will get a good explanation in the 2S, especially about Aisha lol.

Till the 2s comes, i guess this was pretty fun, hoping for a good next season, 7/10.

It was interesting that instead of just mentioning the "far east land" that the lead character and his people come from, this was the only show where they actually WENT there. And as always its clearly a reference to Japan, though in this instance it was literally Japan in the distant path as it was centuries ago. The whole show was kinda rushed to get to that point and the boys travels though. And as much as I kinda took a liking to the character, it all started to get too bland and didnt really emphasize anything beyond " oh, slightly powerful main. Oh kinda has a harem...meh". Hopefully the 2nd season gets better.

Surprisinlgy I liked it much more than I thought I would. It was pretty simple and I like my Isekais when I have 4-5 different type of animes in-between, but compared to the last few Isekais I've watched, I could watch more than 2 episodes in one sitting hence I even finished it within 3 days. What I probably liked the most was the pacing. It feels like they jumped right into adventure and to the main story line, most other Isekais take almost 50% of all episdoes just for introduction to the world and fighting system etc etc, so it was really refreshing not seeing the really slow build up this time around. The locations and characters were pretty interesting and not a single character really annoyed or bothered me much, which is always a good sign. Obviously the writing and characters weren't a masterpiece, but still very enjoyable overall. A solid 7.8/10 cleary in the better half of all Isekais imo

I liked the start of this anime, it did a few nice things. First of all having the "guy from Japan" share a body with an existing person with their own thoughts and goals was interesting. And said person (Rio) was very atypical for an anime MC in general, much less an isekai/fantasy. Long hair, scrappy looking, a snappy attitude (all justified by his circumstances). It even averted "guy who is a loser in Japan becomes OP in fantasy world". If anything it was "Cool Japanese guy who knows martial arts helps out less fortunate boy by dropping his skills on him". I dunno how people were calling it a generic isekai after ep 1, I guess the same kind of isekai derangement syndrome that has people even call fantasy anime with zero re-incarnation elements "generic isekais".

Then it got less interesting over time. Rio going to the magic school stripped him of most of his personality, even if it was necessary for him to "fit in". I would have rather had no magical school at that point, not like he spent long there anyway. Which is a segue into the next issue, how rushed this show was. It felt like this anime could have been twice as long for how much happened.

And finally the villains were all super generic hate sinks. Now I'll always find it worse if a character is portrayed as likeable/sympathetic while being obviously unlikeable. That's always gonna be worse than a puppy kicking hate sink fulfilling their narrative purpose. But even so a story will almost always be better with a little moral ambiguity. This show just has a conga line of low effort generic villains who tick off a checklist of generically evil traits. It's so uninteresting. But I geuss despite all that I was interested enough to finish it so eh. Nice ED too.

Isekai and ppl vanishing in real life to (cause there is way 2many in the world) made me think that in a way isekai mite be reality but not all fun and games like in anime that its a natural disaster like earthquakes for example a rift between space and time happens and pulls some1 to another world but cause its natural disaster some may end up even in vacuum of space or on a planet full of just nature as if earth would be without us humans some want to eat u and some u can eat urself, world is just 2weird to discard this possibility

some portion is kidnapping and ppl running away from their problems and so on and on, but that can't cover all of it that's why i think there is portion who actually get isekaid dead on arrival or alive cause this sh is random

I thought until now that the spirit was actually his childhood friend, seems not.

Or maybe yes, she still could've orginated from her concept anyway. The other spirit person said they originate from beings that inherit memories, she has none, could make sense if her counterpart was still alive and elsewhere.
And now the real deal is here too.

Thank goodness this has S2 so I can see how it goes.

That said, there were some issues that don't make me overly like this, like MC being a little too much Kirito lol, or the random several years timeskips.
He barely grew up, they make little sense, just make few days pass, he doesn't have to stay 4 years away for 2 brief stops lol

Well damn.

That's a great way to not only end a series off, but leave the audience wanting more.

That rescue seemed to go just as planned and in the end, Celia hopefully learned that she can be a little selfish for once. Aishia and Haruto AKA Rio make a great pair, and I'm wondering what the lights in the sky mean.

Man I'm excited!

The worst part of this show is how they set up multiple females to fall for him and then are now reintroducing his childhood friend which seems like a destined meeting. Having him save Celia from a wedding only to switch gears to put his attention on the original love of his life is just... a pain. At least with Sayo he properly turned her down which was refreshing to see.

I'll be curious to see where this goes. I think this is the first show I've seen where there is two forms of isekai in one series. Reincarnation and what seems to be transportation.
