| Well, here's another one of the tough episodes to swallow. Tonari was such a key piece in this episode. The gang was doing quite good against the Nokkers but, the Nokkers overpowered them. Even though I don't really care for the dead characters, I really wanted to see these characters live out their dream. By the looks of it, the next episode will probably be an emotional joyride. |

| When you've been spoiled in the OP for the last how many weeks, the kids suddenly dying isn't exactly that emotional lol. This anime got real average, real quick. Probably after Fushi finally developed into a capable person. |
| Yeah I feel the direction of the scene where Mia was stabbed could have been better. I mean we were not that invested in these characters so they show really needed to sell this scene from a production standpoint to really make it hit hard. |
| Ouch that was sad. But also, I don't understand: the author should probably slow down on killing off characters. The more an author does it, the less the smart viewers/readers become emotionally invested or shocked when a character dies. Now, I'm really expecting at least one character to die in every arc. Probably characters that Fushi gets close to. Death loses its value when characters drop dead left and right predictably. |

| I expected this to happen with tonari's squad but it was still pretty shocking ngl, this is actual pain. Saw the preview for the next ep which makes me scared to watch it next week :'D |

| Whoa so literally all of the kids, especially Tonari, wasted their petty ass time there to saving Fushi while the immortal dude actually able to free himself out of the hole. I don't even feel any epicness they got when the islanders and them cooperated when defeating the Nokkers bear form. But this, What the actual fuck fest is this? Oh man, what a dumb way to killing off the whole squad. Not to mention how suddenly all of the kids became more stupid than before unable to realized their dangerous situations there, and they just give it up. I mean, look at Mia and the chubby kid. Cause there's nothing they could do about that? Now i understand why people call this shit arc as a downhill through the tye overarching stories. This episode proved how lame the plot can be with all of those cheap execution. Not to mention how the quality of the animation and art becoming more and more bad. That's not good at all, and i miss my praise previously over this show. Oh well. The fuck fest still not over yet. Tonari and those crazy bitch still alive. And i don't even know this Nokkers purposes taking control over the dead body, and how the immortal dude getting rid of them. Burn them all into a crisp under that pit can solve all the matters? Lets see if i can get more laugh rather than a complete tears over it. That must be a good way to finish the job. |

Unlike everyone else that Fushi met, with whom he developed relationships organically, these ones just imposed themselves from the start and they had no motivation beyond exploiting him. Even after they became "friendly", they were never developed to any depth and so their friendliness comes across as a whim. And they are just too many under the same circumstances, whatever sympathy they win from being orphans in a bad situation is diluted across all of them. The only character that got any depth is Tonari, and I still don't like her. She's a deeply flawed human and that is interesting, but I guess I just can't empathise. Too bad! I hope at least from this Fushi learns to do hard things to protect the ones he cares about. Failing to "kill" Oopa did nobody any good! Though trying to fight her without a plan was a bad decision in the first place. Lot of people saying the same thing about not caring about these deaths, but I think this is putting it best. Sure, Gugu's end was weaker for being firmly expected, but I still felt sad. A predictable tragedy can be heart wrenching, but these characters aren't well developed and the development they have doesn't make me sympathetic. It also just feels so random. It's weird that the Nokkers can do this. It doesn't fit well with the previous reliance on Fushi's shapes, and I don't think we're going to get any satisfying explanation given all the previous mysteries haven't gone any further than cloaked guy says so. |
| Ah yes, we've finally reached the part of the story arc where everyone that Fushi befriended starts dropping like flies. This time around though I didn't really care for the deaths of those who died this episode. Probably because they didn't have the development or screentime that characters like March and Gugu had. Hell, you know it's bad when I just literally learned Uroy, Mia, and Oopa's names THIS episode.....where they fucking died lmao. Judging from the preview, as well as the OP, it looks like Tonari might be kicking it next episode. |

| These deaths definitely do not have the same impact as the previous ones. They just had to come back to get their obligatory death. Oh well, at least I understand Tonari a little more after this episode. Also, is it just me or did the characters look a bit different this episode (especially Fushi)? |
| "Yeah, let's forget about the rest of islanders. They are demons! Especially those 8 yo children." Overall, not as awful as Ep.17 but still a pretty bad episode nonetheless. Out of nowhere, Nokkers can now possess corpses of people that should have already been far beyond their decomposition phase; Fushi once again forgot about his bear form and the fact of how efficient it would have been for him to crush Nokkers by handfuls instead of slicing them one by one; Tonari's group somehow managing to return to the island just in time to save her even though it was established it should have been impossible for them to sail with a huge storm over their heads; etc. And well... as for the extras Tonari's friends dying, they really tried their hardest to make us feel something for them, huh? Even though we barely knew their names and not to mention the fact of them already being shown as zombies in the OP. |
| While I find this to have been the most compelling part of this arc so far, it is more of an indictment to how little I like this arc than anything. The misfit gang came back to die because of course they did. Tonari saying that everyone on the island should die, even people that didn’t do any crimes because they have guilty blood, makes 0 sense given that she and everyone on the boat is guilty of the same thing. I guess I’ll chalk that up to her throwing out any argument to persuade Fushi. How the misfits died was done ok. I thought the shot of the girl crying as a Nokker was good and the fat kid proved himself to be the most useful of all of them with his sacrifice. The direction continues to head downhill though with all of the lazy pans and zooms that unsuccessfully hide how they are cutting costs. |

| I think Mia could have been helped. I don't know if she could have been saved though. Basically, Fushi could have fed her the takoyaki from Yanome, and put her to sleep. Then, using Gugu's fire and a heated metal, the wound could have been sealed. If they wanted to stich the wound, I think that was also a possibility. Fushi has taken many forms till now. He could have used their fur or the thread from one of their clothes. Oh, and the Boy from episode 1 has a bandage on his thigh. That also could have been useful. lol Well, Mia's organs probably have a huge hole, so she could have died even after all this, but my point is that the characters were not really all out of options to try. I had wondered why the OP had those spoilery zombie scenes, but now I get it. The characters turn into the zombies the same episode the zombie concept is introduced. So, it's not spoiling anything for long. I think the Black Guy is trying to turn Fushi into something like himself, so that Fushi can maybe create a whole new world, a dazzling place they never knew. |

| Wait they actually spoiled this arc as well ?? Thank god that i skip the op everytime . I have no idea what the OP director was thinking , this is just ridiculous . But goddamn that was brutal . oopa's death was honestly reallly painful to watch . Imagine those disgusting things writhing under your skin , And that too of a little girl like her . Jesus .... I dont know why i was naiive and stupid enough to think that the deaths are over and we might finally have some that will live , especially considering all the death flags they raised . i am never going to make the same mistake ever again . |
| P a i n. Ever since the Jananda arc, the visual and animation quality has definitely dipped, probably has some production and scheduling issues. But the next episode looks like it's gonna be top quality again though. |

| "We've saved everyone who deserves to be saved." No, Tonari, that is not your call to make. Fuck you, you're one of those who does not deserve to be saved and I'll be delighted when she's finally killed off and this garbage fire ends. Also, am I supposed to be sad that three of Tonari's red shirt friends died (whose names I still didn't know until they were mentioned this episode as they died), when it was blatantly obvious that there was their sole reason for existing to begin with (even without the OP spoiling these events, their deaths were obvious)? Also, this whole situation is entirely on Fushi anyway: he said he could handle it on his own, but then let Tonari and co help anyway, as if they would be any help against the Nokkers at all. And then he acted like he needed saving so lard-ass had to sacrifice himself, when he could have killed Nokker March-but-with-a-bandana very easily. Also, kind of funny that the show made a fairly big deal of Fushi being recaptured, only for his escape from the hole to happen entirely off-screen and only for Hayase to seemingly not care in the slightest that it happened. |
| Not gonna lie, I'm kind of ready for this series to end. Watching 20 episodes, but only one per week, felt a lot slower than I thought it would. That being said, this arc could possibly end up being my favorite so far. |

| And this is what I get for getting myself attached to these characters, rip young warriors! I knew things wouldn't go well if Fushi decided to take on the Knockers but well, it's a little too late for that now. Judging from next week's episode preview, Tonari might be meeting her end too and I doubt the little boy will make it out alive as well. |

| I didnt really care at all about this arc and probably will forget it because it is boring as hell, but I cant lie, the Uroy death was extremely touching. I know that the character was an ass during all of his screentime, but with all the background you can tell that there is nothing else than toughen up when dealing with this enviroment, and all of that sentiment and dichotomy of humanity was expressed throughout his death. The last minutes were beautiful |
