Damn, Mappa not playing around, the whole episode was intense especially the way the ending song came in and holy shit that reveal in the end was just an icing on top of the cake. Amazing episode.

@Krugerman

What are you concerned over 2nd key outsourcing for? 2nd key is retracing the ADs corrections. These are outsourced because there are not possibly enough MAPPA artists for this, as they are split between multiple productions. There will be minimal impact between outsourcing and in-house for 2nd key, especially to untrained eye. The entire 2nd-genga system came into fruition because of modern-day scheduling.

Ok about this episide ...
It was one of a few Aot episodes which was funny (Although that scene for dr. yeager's PTSD was really intense)
It was a really good episode, but the next episode will probably break the whole internet.
A few point:
I didn't expect Kakashi's voice be fitted to Willy Tybur this good!
It seems we're finally gonna learn sth about the oriental race ...

Although I haven't read the manga I have a theory about what's going to happen "POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT":

"Please don't comfirm or deny it. If you don't want to read it, just don't,"

Eren will finally understand and feel Reiner (according to what he said in next episode preview) then he will go bersek and crush the whole festival. Tybur family will reveal their titan to stop Eren. Also the old cast will make their appearance to fight.

Did Eren really just meet his grandpa? I did not expect that to happen, I thought he might've died years ago. But of course he wasn't there was a doc, but as a patient instead.
The end gets me damn hyped... just like last episode. Only for this episode to be a bit of a letdown again. It feels like barely anything is happening in these episodes and we're already 25% through with this season ;_;
He was also shown in episode 2. When tha warriors returned to Liberio, Zeke was shown reuniting with his grandparents.

Oh, you're right, I had completely forgotten about that scene. He wasn't in the clinic that time though, right? Weird :O

Just because Krueger is younger (in his 20's) than Mr. Yeager (the doctor).

In Japanese you can use -kun to adress a man who is a colleague or younger than you.

Dude.....I know that ofc
But yeah....that's the thing...... they are not in Japan and no one in previous seasons has ever used a suffix before.

It was rare, but there were instances of it, like "Hanji-san" from Jean in S3, "Hannes-san", "Ymir-sama", etc.

They're not used as traditional honorific in Japanese culture, but as equivalents of similar expression of respect that would be used in the west (and they're obviously more rare than in Japan, hence they're rarely used in the story), I. E. "Mr. Hannes" or "Lady Ymir".

Tldr: honorifics are used in SnK in a similar way that they'd be used in English, think of them as translation of words like "mister", "lady", etc. rather than traditional Japanese honorifics used in typical Japanese context.

Sorry for my bad english
Monster of the week trope is a sign inability of the author to write a good plot so they introduce random ass villain to distract viewer with action.

My English is not good.

The pacing problem from the past two episodes isn't here. I'm glad.

This episode has proper pauses and no unnecessary camera movements.

Willy's voice actor is exactly how I imagined him to sound. Well, not the voice, but the style of speaking.

Maggath actually sounds right this episode. I am glad I trusted his voice actor.

I feel like I just heard Eren and Kaneki speaking. lol I prefer that over Eren and Tanjirou speaking.

I was kind of missing the old soundtracks this season, and I loved the way they finally played when Reiner and Eren reunited.

I had been worried the new director would screw everything up, but this episode relaxed me a bit.

Nice Eren, manipulates a naive boy to meet Reiner...we can say why Falco did what Eren wants, etc. but maybe we forgot that Falco is just a boy, or maybe Eren used his commanding power??? Haha, just kidding...there are 2 scenes that gave me a goosebumps. First, the meeting with Eren's grandfather, Mr. Yaeger, what I want to say is although Mr. Yaeger was regretting Grisha's decision at that day, he still think that what made Grisha like that was because, "he was pushing him too hard for becoming a doctor"...wow amazing, he is a true Marleyan loyalty...really amazing...and the second scene was Reiner meets Eren, de javu? nostalgic? "Hello Reiner, the situation has changed, huh?"

It might be a wishful thinking of my part, but I genuinely believe that just like me, most fans from SNK are open to receive valid criticism for the anime, specially because previous Seasons have created high standards for entertainment products as a whole and it's why two of the only three entries I have rated a 10/10 are from SNK. Being more critical of the show is why I'm always waiting for @MironBiron and SirTristram perspective in the episode discussion and I try to reflect on them. I don't doubt that the people that try to "shut them down" are just a vocal minority. But it's also fair to point out that what a lot of fans don't like is when someone criticizing the anime becomes arrogant and tries to dismiss anyone who disagrees with his opinion by claiming that those people have a lower analytical approach than himself or when the argument becomes gratuitous offense. I've noticed most of the time when we see a big negative response towards a specific comment, it's one of these two things. Just like the anime, someone's perspective should also be open to criticism, and this can create a healthy discussion. And based on this I'll try to share a few thoughts on what I believe were the three major problems MironBiron had with this episode. I didn't publish any of my thoughts of his comments in the previous episodes mainly because I didn't think adding my perspective on his comment would be worth it and because I don't like to write extremely big comments, but now I'll try at least to show that people want to have a healthy discussion. Just take note that I'm an anime only. I'm going to put a spoiler tag so my comment doesn't becomes too big for anyone just passing through.

Now THAT is how you adapt a manga right there! Every directorial choice and add on fit perfectly in this episode.
Before the after credit scene I was a little disappointed at the ending point but then once I stayed around it sent me over the top. Great episode and great OST callback.

For me personally, I loved this episode. I was really unhappy with the last one because I thought they rushed too many things and omitted important details, but this one was perfect. I especially love how they adapted Grandpa's Yeager's breakdown, so much better than the manga version.
I was a little disappointed that this Moment wasn't included, but maybe it would be way too long. In the manga, when Falco passes Gabi, Colt says that it's useless bc Falco can't catch up to which Porco says "The selection standards are vague" alluding to how he feels he got screwed over by Reiner.
Colt then says that it's unnecessary for Falco to give up his life to be a titan when he's already doing it to which Zeke says "I guess that's what being a big brother is about. Zeke is thinking of Eren and how he wants to save him and then we get a panel of Porco silently thinking to himself. It's possible that he's thinking of Marcel at this moment and maybe piecing together that Marcel did something to sabotage him in order to save him. And we have Reiner in the same panel probably thinking about how Marcels' brotherly love caused him to sabotage Porco to save him.

I think I understand more as to why a lot of users here like Pieck and her, ahem, rear end. It was a sight to behold, I must admit. =P

This episode was really good. It had some important scenes with Willy Tybur, the amusing argument between Falco and Gabi with the guards reacting perfectly and even seeing Eren's grandfather as well. I do feel for him, as he has regrets over what Grisha did in the past. =(

The festival made for some fun scenes with the kids, but the main talking point was after post-credits scene, with Reiner finally seeing Eren again. Excellent choice in playing YouSeeBigGirl for this scene, too.

Ask yourself this: are their actions really caused by brainwashing or simply by lack of choice? What would happen to their families if they didn't do as Marley say? What would happen if Eldians in Marley refused to fight their wars.

Of course in the very end they have the free will to rebel if they want to, Grisha chose that path and the result is that his family paid the price for it, but he also ended up saving the millions of innocents in Paradis island.

I'm not trying to establish who was right and wrong, the restorationists who doomed their families or the Eldians loyal to Marley, there is probably no absolute and objective answer to that, but your dismissal of the warriors' action simply with "brainwashing" and "braindead" is quite frankly not valid. And i'm saying this as someone who was rooting for a total war against Marley too, when i was at this point in the manga.

Mod Edit: Removed baiting.

Maybe you're right... But even despite that I'm sure that the Eldians loyal to Marley are going to cause a lot of problems down the line and that a lot of people from Paradis is probably going to die because of them...

Anyway, it is ok to hate all Marleyans and wish the whole race a fate worse than what met Aurille and those other nobles that Zachary tortured, isn't it? Since literally everything that has happened is their fault
