Man it's really going to end in one more week. I'll definitely miss the excitement I get when I see that it's live and ready to watch.

Question though: So is Elaina pretending not to realize that her mother (I presume) is Nike or is genuinely confused on who it is? If she acknowledges that Nike is her mother, how would that affect her traveling?

This felt like a finale the way it ended. Maybe she'll go and visit home during the next episode?

I still doubt Nike is Elaina's mom. I think they're related, but not her mom.

This was the first episode in the series that I voted : Hated....... I got so very little from this episode which to me was filled with fanservice yuri and yaoi . Sorry, just not much amused by the filler episode that only offered anything of value in the last 2 minutes. Still, not bad at a 1 out of 11 episode total. I hope that the last episode doesn't disappoint me. I am glad that others enjoyed it and that is the nice thing about anime...... it isn't a one size fits all.

Saya meeting up with Elaina was priceless, this episode Elaina did some cute faces or rather Saya did it.

Well it was a good episode we got to know Saya's sister that is constantly jealous on Elaina.

This episode was dumb af. It was fun, don't get me wrong, but it was dumb. Why did they expect some random person on the street to open the box? They could have just tied up one of their own people, popped them with the magic ball and then they would have full control over the box and Saya.

Then Elaina and Saya "solve" the mysteries just because the bad guys, which happen to be exactly in front of them, decide to exposit the entire plan, which they should all already know, in the middle of a public street.

And that's not even mentioning the fact that Elaina and Saya arrived at this town at the same time, for different reasons, they were individually targeted in different parts of town and they also managed to meet up with each other... My coincidenceometer just freaking exploded.

Saya whining off into the sunset was pretty funny, though.

Man, this is actually a lovely episode. And for the first time, Saya's little sister has been introduced, in such 'a wild way'. Yes, she was actually aware that shit, and Elaina too. If only Saya never met Elaina at those city, its not impossible if they became a couple. Well, i mean, a siblings couple, precisely. I wanted them to keep pure. Lol. Wtf was that. Its funny xd.

Thats actually cleared Elaina's intentions to be always travelling, no matter shit happened on her surroundings. Which was mean, no rest at a long time, no life remains in one place permanently. Even there is no life for her to be like her mother; retired from travelling. However, Fran statement was indeed still true. No matter what, she needed to be laid-back. And peoples she knew always love her. So, there was still a possibility for Elaina to find her end story. 5W1H questions? Only the author that know the answer, or i mean, only Elaina herself that know the answer.

Nice reunion between two teachers and their students. Even in the middle of a chaos, they were still adorable af. Okay. Onward to the last episode!

Those last couple minutes made it seem like it was the last episode. I am very much looking forward to what the last episode is actually gonna be like.

Also, every episode more and more has me wanting to buy all the LN volumes. I am so close to doing so, and definitely will eventually, but I want to see this last episode first, assuming it's gonna be the typical "read the LN" cliffhanger.

(although a second season would be glorious. what journey/adventure only gets one season, anyway???)

well, this is a light episode though, more of Saya x Elaina. that switched-body plan though. Saya's only the one who's enjoying it,LOL. gay moments bonus +10. xD

anyway,it's kinda sad to see this episode ending in one week but the last scene is kinda a closure already. looking forward for the finale.

I freaking loved it. The first half of the episode was rather slow but when it came to the second half of the episode, it became one of the best moment in the series because we got to see the interaction between Fran, Sheila, Saya, Elaina and Mana. Saya's sister, Mana is one of the most adorable characters in this series. I love her tsundere character and her yandere character when she breathes in the love gas.

This episode was kinda gross in parts, like when Saya!Elaina licked her reflection in the window (ew) or with the crazy sister (what is with lesbian crushes in this show being so damn weird?).

Overall the weakest episode so far IMO and might bring the final rating down a point for me.

From the MAL description: "Along the way, she would meet all kinds of people, from a country full of witches to a giant in love with his own muscles". I don't remember a giant in love with his own muscles, so I guess he's going to be in the final episode?

He's been in the background in multiple episodes. But you're right we haven't seen Elaina meet him yet in the anime

Poor Saya xD We should have had more of her sister, can't believe they've only shown her now, they would make an amazing trio xD

The whole episode was pretty fun, especially Saya's part ahaha

That ending, i really thought that she would tell her who her teacher was but then i realized that somehow it was probably her mom who was talking to her, the way she spoke to her...it's gotta be her mother!

Btw so she's 18, been traveling for 4 years and her design never changed and she never visited her parents? like wtf

We have one more episode left... i doubt they will fix episode 3 and Elaina will end with Saya like Flan with Sheila, but let's hope i guess since we never know how this will actually end since all episodes are just mini-stories, that are somehow related.
Oh also, would be great if they revealed why her mother retired.

Also pt2, why the hell she would stop traveling if she found out who was the teacher of Fran? Likeeeee she would probably get even more motivated to beat her mom, but she for sure wouldn't stop being a traveler, either that or we don't know something yet.

I wonder what they'll give us in the last episode, maybe Elaina going home. I hope there's a second season, I know there's so much more fantastic stories they can adapt. I am going to miss this show very much once it finishes.

Probably the funniest episode so far. Very funny and quite good on multiple levels. I didn't quite understand Elaine and Fran's discussion in the end though; or perhaps the subs were a bit lacking. Did Elaine suggest that she (basically) preferred to hide her head in the sand about who Nike actually was so that she doesn't go back home prematurely and ask Nike / her mother all about it?

I hoped the season (or show) finale would explain why on Earth Elaine's mother hid from her daughter that she was the witch Nike all along, but I now doubt that will happen since Elaine will almost certainly be in a new land / country in the last episode rather than back home.

Elaina is only seemingly responsible, as the show has demonstrated, particularly with the time travel episode. Above all she is curious and adventurous, so it made sense for her to open the box (she is also a shameless narcissist, but that's beside the point).

This show is definitely all over the place and hit or miss. But this episode had some great fanservice, so I'll take it. Was trying to read the LN (because they are usually pretty good and always always better than the anime), but in this case, those stories were paper thin and I couldn't make it to the end of the first volume. So, I have to say that this anime itself is magic, taking next to nothing and turning it into something (usually) fun to watch. Respect.

Each story was extremely short. Many were just a handful of pages. Remember how episode 3 felt, with the incomplete stories, and Elaina basically shrugging and leaving? That's how it's been going most of the time. For me, I need there to be some continuity, some growth to the main character, and I just wasn't feeling it, so I dropped. Episode 1 in the anime isn't even in the book (I didn't finish volume 1, though, so maybe it comes later?). From what I can tell, the anime has fleshed out these stories tremendously, and in a good way. Maybe the LN gets better later? I got bored though. Looking forward to the final episode!

Saya's sister Mina has finally made her first appearance, and apparently, she's a siscon? Not that I dislike it, though. Her being honest with her feelings towards Saya because of that spell was really hilarious. Also, it was great seeing the more flirtatious version of Elaina and the more serious version of Saya.

as much as I look forward to new episodes every week (well, now there's only one left... ) I'm extremely confused as to how I feel about it.

I love the darker, more serious episodes and they were what made this anime unique in my eyes. Elaina just being a spectator, not really investing emotionally in anything, she went from one country to another. I loved this so so much because she wasn't just another protag/heroine who just helps everyone.

the other episodes however... it's not that I don't like them but sometimes they just feel SO out of place when compared to the serious episodes and it feels like I'm watching two different animes. I feel like this anime is all over the place... I wish it had been made of just the serious episodes.
with those comedy-centered episodes it feels like just yet another generic anime :<

I just read the first chapter of book 2 (Thank you free samples in iBooks) and it does *exactly* this. Presents a kind of messed up situation, has Elaina go "Huh well that's kind of bad", and then the chapter is over. It's a premise without an actual story to accomplish it.

Well... between this episode and Love Live's latest one, I got my yuri-bait levels quite covered for this week. Discovering that Saya's sister, Mina, wants to bang her with all her might may have been a bit too much tho. Anyways, guess I gotta admire how open-minded Author-san is when it comes to his yuri fetish and damn, there was even some Shouta x Young woman and Loli x Adult man in that crowd of people running around the city. I mean, who needs pantyshots when you can have this level of depravity instead xD

Now seriously, it was another uninteresting and also extremely dumb episode overall. Guess it's only purpose was to have Elaina finally realizing who Nikeh was and stuff. Saya whining for being separated from Elaina at the end gave me a good laugh tho.

but I’m a bit confused on when this takes place. I’m assuming it’s after the time travel arc, but are they not gonna mention that ever again? Surely that was a traumatic experience for Elaina..

the time travel episode, Elaina said she was 17, so this happened at the start of her journey, before episode 4 (that's the reason she stopped helping people as much) ... can we all stop saying she should still be traumatized this episode? it's been multiple years since then :D

A pretty interesting episode. I thought this arc would last 2 episodes but still it was enjoyable.

Also, Fran and Sheila gave Elaina many hints but she still didn't realize who their teacher was.

So what happened in episode 9 had absolutely no impact on Elaina... Are you kidding me ? How can I expect any kind of character development at this rate ? (And if what's happening is that the episodes aren't released in a chronological order then it is a serious narrative flaw.)

Also, this episode's end just confirmed that the show's entire message is basically "Run away from your problems and anything that can be a bother". What a great moral, teaching people to be self-absorbed cowards !

And finally, between the raped slave, the foot fetishists, the doll fetishists, the facial expressions fetishist, Saya's obsession with Elaina, Mina wanting to make out with her sister and Saya actually starting to make out with Elaina's reflection, I think this is just "Fetichisms : the animation". I won't lie, this is disturbing.

The home-coming episode will end this season, and I was right.

I haven't fucking read the light novel. THE best I can do is speculate.
But, The ending should have been the Homecoming Episode, which would be nicer.
Instead, they went with the gay selfcest ending that is way worse.
