Damn, the Executioner was hot!
Really sad to see him and Brawler die in this ep.

Swindler being like "how could you do this???" to Cutthroat was WAY too funny lmao. Honey, the guy is a psycho killer, what did you expect?

I loved this episode, it was excellently done.

I truly expected Hoodlum to flee so I was surprised when he went in for an attack. He just fuck up Disciple's eye and survived! Hoodlum went from 0 to 10 on the badass scale.

RIP Brawler, shocked to see that he died at the same time as the commander. Poor Cutthroat, sad to see the episode end with a slap, but it was a long time coming solid episode regardless.

I guess the fourth executioner from the OP is going to be the Pupil's new partner now that the Master is dead. He better be damn strong to even come close to his predecessor.

My boy Hoodlum finally taking a level in badass, I hope this isn't an one-off thing and is instead a turning point for his character. Few people know this, but you can be a comic-relief character *and* badass at the same time.

God, the raw emotion throughout the entire episode.

Not sure if the Apprentice will necessarily turn aggressively vengeful rather than cold-blooded vengeful, but Hoodlum seemingly having one hell of a mean streak in him was quite something.

The visuals in this episode were phenomenal. Honestly, the rain drops hitting the puddles as they formed was beautiful. The reflections were very well done also. The show really came to life here, the director took a nice twist on introducing the characters and the scene where the lady explained the master pupil system of the executioners really strengthened the fight as a whole. The fight highlighted the difference between characters, but also showed us that they're really the same once thy started fighting with mirroring facial expressions. Overall, this was a solid episode and the direction here is something that shouldn't be forgotten for quite a long time.

I wonder if the brawler really dead as it look like the doctor died twice and the kid was stabbed straight through and lived I think the kids, executioners and akudama all are cut from the same cloth beside the "swindler" and small time hoodlum maybe the young lady exeutioner and it has to do with kanto.my guess kanto is the playground of the rich living of the misery of kansai masses

well this was full blown action packed episode was hardly any room left for the plot

at first i was like shit are they really killing off some of these characters ant no way doctor gonna come back from that but lol nope honestly thinking only way is to completely vaporize her body

RIP brawler and Executioner master either of them really needed to die but duking it out in the most classic way of Pride was the way they wanted to go out by their own choice "two sides of the same coin"

lost my shit to the mascot cut was like really of all the times to cut away there!? but they didn't show the outcome anyways so eh.

I adore the way this show uses lighting during high tension moments. Brawler hitting the floor and the entire arcade's neon lights turns on? Sick. The lighting strikes the Ferris wheel and the whole thing lights up as the slow-mo rain drop bokeh emphasize each hit? SICK.

Cutthroat is a crazy bitch and I love him. I laughed every time the Executioner just yeeted him off. Love the Executioner too - that was a spectacular showdown worthy of his final moments.

I'm excited for how his pupil will progress now. The Executioner used a half mask because of the scar near his mouth, so I hope she shows up with a cool eye patch / bandage. And she has two weapons now so I really hope we get some dual-welding fights.

Swindler's empathy for the kids is really sweet. Whatever reservations I had for her at the start of the show are totally gone. I was worried she'd be a useless damsel in distress like so many bland female MCs, but she is holding her own and it's great.

I was so focused on Doctor's ability to sew everyone together that I didn't even consider the boy would have a healing ability. So despite how much of a trope fast healing is, it still came as a surprise to me. It's basically a running joke now that the Doctor will be eviscerated every time lmao. I can only imagine her stitching is like Machi's Nen Needles from HxH because she'd have to attach every blood vessel and nerve instantly.

High voltage, high energy, fully committed to its aesthetic - this show continues to bring me joy, excitement, and satisfaction every week.

I actually stayed awake during an episode for once. This was definitely the best ep of the series so far and highlights just what Pierrot can do when given time and resources. Executioner v Brawler was awesome. The rain scene after student finds her master was very beautifully executed(no pun intended).

Based on last shot, I’m guessing she killed the other dude?

I wish Black Clover could get this attention.

Doubt Hoodlum is dead as you can clearly see him in the next episode preview. It's more likely that he took out her eye and then either a) spared her life deliberately or b) ran away.

What an insane episode this was! Holy s***! It was so epic i don't even know where to start.

So obviously Brawler died, RIP. Now i wonder if this is going to be normal like one of them will die every then and there. And RIP to that executioner guy too, he fought well.

When the lightning stroke i knew that was going to be a 10/10 moment! Plus that rain, oh boy!

The Doctor is way too OP, she can basically heal anyone at any current state xD
So now i wonder why the kids didn't died, i mean, probably because they are not human but i want to know answers, need more xD

So about that last and ending scene, so those kids opened something from the underground? And wow, i am surprised that the Hoodlum managed to damage the executioner so much! Damn.

Aside from that, damn. Didn't expect to actually get attached to the Executioner fighting Brawler. That fight managed to tell a story even with just a few episodes, which is something to commend about this show so far.

Executioner vs Brawler was so fcking good. RIP, both of them. But I'm curious to see how Hoodlum will develop after his 'best friend' dying.

And the people living in the underground. Looks like the plot will advance more next week. Curious to see what will happen with the story since the visuals never disappoints.

The way they slowly reveal the story about Kansai - Kanto by usagi and shark is really fun and make me curious. So Kansai was actually destroyed by the bomb and they lived underground. I thought the bomb only created the "death zone" between the two regions.

The fight is speculate! It managed to show an eye-treat and emotions of the characters at the same time. I dont even remember the executer's name but seriously? I can feel how and why he hates the Akudama. Akudama is like presenting freedom, but the kind of freedom they would trouble others so that freedom becomes selfishness.

I have a good time watching the show because it is entertaining, sometimes even thrilling, the animation is good, the action scenes are solid and it's not particularly predictable, plus I'm a fan of Cyberpunk. But I totally agree on there being no logic and the story being rather nonsensical, most things work plot conveniently. As you said, the laser swords sometimes cut through items, sometimes not; the characters are fast enough to divert a bullet but not a punch, they seem indestructible by surviving being smashed against a wall or falling of a building or stopping a bullet with their bare teeth but then die in a fist fight; there's absolutely no reasoning nor logical explanation behind the executor actions, you were accurate remarking that too. The characters are pretty shallow as well so far but their dynamics are fun to watch nonetheless.
In conclusion, I don't consider this to be a good show but it's enjoyable, just don't expect much of it and don't take it seriously.

Also, you mentioned Danganronpa 2 but they wouldn't have been able to cover it with just 12 episodes, 24-26 episodes wouldn't be enough either.

This has to be the best episode of anime I have watched in a long while. Atmosphere is completely fitting, the characters have their goals, exchanges between them are serious and atleast good. And the action...the best fight scene I've seen so far. Maybe Top 5 but since I haven't watched that much shounen, DAMN best fight scene is in this episode.

RIP Brawler and Master Executioner. Their fight scene is THE best, Pierrot did an amazing job on the animation and the background. Thank god they didn't have background music for the whole fight and only saved it for a scant, that's how you do it! I love the determination of the Pupil Executioner, even though she's sometimes annoying, she do respect her master. And when he died...without any words...just like her, that striked a powerful punch to me. And also Hoodlum (actually not useless) took the Pupil's eyes, really sad for her on that.

With the Doctor not on good terms with the Swindler, her despising Cutthroat on what he did to the Brother and Hacker missing in action, Akudama Drive hit peak note this week. Thank God I catched up with this anime to this week, cause it was damn worth it. I will change it next week, but right now this is is a 10/10. This is kick-ass!!!

Another really great episode damn, it's so consistent on it's quality. Though this episode was I think even better. I honestly like both sides, the executioners and the akudama.

RIP Brawler and Master, ya'll were really great characters. But, at least both of them went out with a bang. Like fucking hell that fight was fantastic, especially when that ferris wheel light up, fucking beautiful.

Hoodlum was able to take revenge by taking pupil's eye, though how will she bite back though. She'll definitely come back stronger and with a new partner probably, judging by the OP. Well, looking forward to the next episode as it looks like it will explore the kid's backstory.

Absolutely great episode once again, I excepted Brawler to die but surprising to see that both (Execution Division Master and Brawler) died during the fight, so at the end Hoodlum destroyed the Execution Division Apprentice's eye and ran I guess (because he's not dead he's still here in the preview)
that scene between Ordinary Person and Cutthroat was really interesting too... she even slapped him

There was some nice duality going on between brawler and Master Executor. I really liked that. Didn't think that brawler would die but Iam glad that it was handled well. Cutthroat got bitch slaped. Liked that as well.
Also holy shit. So many cool lightsaber moments this episode. This show is just an aggressive reminder that we need anime Star Wars.

Well, it's certainly miles better than last week just by dint of not being 20 straight minutes of talking heads, but like usual, it's a mixed bag. Lots of clippable little moments, and if there was an actual narrative, or purpose bringing it all together, would have been fine, but lacking those things, a lot of sound and noise signifying little. Mainly, you can only have people immediately recover from being cut in half, eviscerated, or dismembered so many times before it turns into more of a joke than something we're taking seriously. We're not even using lesser torture porn violence like eye gouging or finger breaking which is less over the top but more viscerally unsettling. And before we even reached the halfway point of the episode, half the cast had been all those things.

Action-heavy episode, though there are some interesting points:

- Swindler called the kid "Onii-san".I'm not sure if she's being literal or it's just because she doesn't know his name... but she does have the same eyes as the kids
- Hoodlum appears to have survived, but given the scenes fade to black and someone obvious brought back the Executioner, it's possible something may have happened.

I think Cutthroat is a goner, no way he's surviving the next episode if he turns into a loose canon.

I'm honestly surprised at Hoodlum's reaction to Brawler's death. They were buddy-buddy throughout the series but, I don't know, it seemed like Hoodlum was faking that friendship with Brawler the whole time just to get on his good side. Also, not enough time seemed to pass in their friendship for that kind of reaction to feel justified imo

Definitely the heaviest episode of the series so far, Doctor still proving that she can pretty much come back from any injury towards her, I liked the focus on the apprentice and I think her VA did an amazing job this episode, cautiously excited for the next few episodes because I imagine there will be more deaths and tension.

  • I liked the fighting.Looked really nice in the rain.
  • The Akudama taking so much damage by a single executioner shows they stand no chance unless they have a huge numbers advantage which is good because EP1 had them looking near invincible
  • Weird that they didn't explain how Master tracked down the Akudama.
  • Doctor is a cheat code. Maybe the executioners should AIM FOR HER ARMS FIRST!
  • Cutthroat is about to get 100x scarier now that he's got the infatuation slapped out of him
  • How much of a noob is Pupil if she lost an eye to freaking Hoodlum of all people? Also Hoodlum looks completely untouched in the next episode preview so looks like she didn't even land a single hit on him?

Sad to see Brawler go, I'm gonna assume he's really dead and not coming back... Hopefully it encourages Hoodlum to actually become useful, though. Also, that fight was epic, I love how they utilize lighting and abandoned environments in this anime.

I'm also very interested in seeing how the relationship between Cutthroat and Swindler plays out. I don't think he'll die soon… He'll either become even more protective or he'll lose interest in her completely. I think we're also gonna discover why he's such a psychopath and maybe Swindler will become more sympathetic towards him. I don't think they're going to be endgame romance-wise, I can only hope though. I'm just tired of these one-sided romantic relationships where one person is obsessed with protecting them, and the other one hates them.
