Shit is getting absolutely heated now, Joker and Benimaru delve deeper into the secrets of the Sol temple and Burns says hi at the end. So the Holy Sol Temple has its own secret assassination kill squad, that seem just as crazed and fucked up as it's main branch, lovely. Starting to see a pattern here when it comes to think linking with the Sol Temple, and it isn't a pretty one.

Fight scenes in this episode were fucking immaculate, lots of action this time around, combined with this anime's sometimes extremely whacky cinematography at times, this anime can produce some of the best fight scenes i swear. Season 2 definitely seems to have felt like a change in visuals, i mean at the beginning we had joker singing while bodies fell around him, then the crime scene tape being flashed across Benimaru and Joker, making for a pretty good duo was also pretty flashy and creative. I mean, like the psychedelic scene in this episode, it feels like they are really flexing there creativity, i don't think we many, or any, scenes like that in season 1, which definitely makes season 2 unique in my eyes.

Joker as a character, honestly has definitely turned into a personal favourite from the series, his background is hella fucked up and depressing no doubt. However helps make sense to why he wants to uncover the truth about the world so badly, how he is so powerful, and maybe some answers to why he can go off the hooks sometimes, and why his actions can be sporadic. His mentor definitely deserved a more brutal death then the one Joker gave him, thats for sure.

Burns fight is gonna be interesting, probably leads to more insight into Joker's powers, and i feel like Benimaru is gonna have to tag team with him on this one.

Joker's past was brutal and dark. I wasn't expecting to see sexual abuse here.

Episodes 11-12 proves Fire Force can be good but they're exceptions. Sadly the author focuses on the wrong characters, random comedy and asspulls. The first 10 episodes of Season 2 were terrible. Maybe my score will be a bit higher than Season 1 at this moment since we have more answers but don't expect much more from me.

Ah, it was just a freakin blowgun. I thought that missionary guy was someone special. lol

Benimaru imagining Joker having that missionary haircut was funny.

Beni-J pair is awesome! They brutalized those so called assassins.

Oh man, I'm looking forward for a face of between Captain Burns and Joker. Hopefully, they'll fight.

The direction in this episode is simply divine, ironically, not so much for what the Sol Temple stands for... The animation and visual aesthetics used ins some closeup scenes are vibrantly made and the orchestral OST, is always a pleasure to listen to.

Beni-J is a duo made in purgatory, a duo tag team of lone wolves, fang sharpened to a razor edge, raw in their intention and brutal in their violence. When meeting their foe, they do not falter or halt their attacks, only doing so to play with their prey. This team is badass, they do not count on one another for help since they're both immensely powerful in their own right, but what fun would it be for a single individual to have the fun all to himself?

Joker's backstory is the most extreme one to witness by far, though not as depressing Shinras as though Joker has lived a shitty, dark and painful life, he has never really tasted the joyful warmth of peace. Being a trained assassin, a priest's boy toy, and one with a rebellious idea, ofc he'd escape only to return 12 years later to claim his revenge. Here's where Joker's nickname [Joker] is really justified, his real strategy to drug up everyone in the room is both dirty and straight-up maniacal. If it wasn't Beni who he brought, a good chance is that they'll just get high along with the rest. I wonder if the assassins have ever been thought to be immune to drugs, psychedelic or not. Welp, in the end, the child molester got diced up by the very boy he has defiled, ofc not before Joker ridiculed him by using the molester's words against himself, "Go ahead and make yourself whole again." After severing the molester's arm was a violation in its own, fucking brilliant. Now that the fun party is over, it's time to get right into the serious business, a fight against Burns.

I have a feeling that Joker, the wildcard he is, won't obviously pull his trump card out so easily. Ofc he didn't though he may seem to struggle in the fight her against his former commander, I bet you he's just fooling around. If he could face Sho who could stop time, then he could do much more. In fact, because he fought against Sho before, I'm pretty sure he's one of the 8 pillars, but I have no other evidence to support that aside from how mysterious he is.

This is my favorite episode by far. Everything about it was absolutely phenomenal. Episodes 7 to 10 were a bit hard to get through as I wasn't really that interested or invested in them, certainly not as much as previous episodes, but episodes 11 & 12 represented everything I love about the show. Beni remains my absolute favorite character and now Joker is a close second. Beni-J is definitely a legendary and formidable team. I'd love to see them go against Burns, but I'm still not sure whether Burns is forced to submit to the church or if he's in cahoots with them.

See they can have these kind of episodes too. Best one this season, or even in this series, though there wasn't that much competition to begin with lol.

Beni-J the ultimate combo, and then that cliffhanger too, these past two episodes are literally fire.

Finally we know about the backstory of Joker, he's definitely a damn badass. I didn't know what to think of Burns so far, seems like he'll turn out to be one of the bad guys after all.

What an insane episode. Easily the darkest one we have seen in the entire series so far. Benimaru letting loose, Joker's tragic backstory, animation galore, and a salivating cliffhanger. Couldn't have asked for more.

Ok, this was pretty hype, this show sure took its time getting to the cool part. Unfortunately Burns' appearance was spoiled by the OP but what can you do. The fight is bound to be fantastic.

One of the best episodes of this show!
I think Joker is a quite well written character. He is a perfect anti-hero parallel to Shinra, being the "dark hero" who wants to know the truth like Shinra, but will use as much violence as necessary for this aim.
Jokers short backstory was amazing, too an brought a nice taste of darkness into the anime.

Truly one of the best episodes - not only in the series but in shounen anime altogether.
Trippy, dark and gory. Did not expect male rape in a mainstream show. Hats off (and eyepatches too).
Joker and Beni are fucking based, can't get enough of 'em. Now with daddy Leo it's gonna get even hotter!

It's nice to see Joker and Benimaru face to face with the darkest parts of the church. That cruel holy sol shadow captain got what he deserved. I hope Burns isn't an active part in this ugly affair.

This episode we got to know Joker's backstory, and I must say... I wasn't expecting Fire Force to get this dark.

Joker was abandoned by his parents, ended up in an assassin's cult of the church, and then was picked by the chief of said cult to be his victim, in terms of physical, psychological and sexual abuse (When that scene appeared I was like "no, they're not doing that with Joker's backstory", but they did...). Not only that, when he gets out, and finds a new family, his new family ends up being killed...
Like, at this point I just think Joker's battle with that chief should have been longer and he should suffered more being getting killed by Joker honestly, this is horrible.

Fire Force, for the most part, is quite a upbright anime, it has a bit of a cruel story/setting, but things end up always well, but sometimes it just gets so dark, like with Rekka sacrificing kids in the previous season, and this season with the pink haired girl (forgot her name) burning her own friend alive, until his death, and now this.

Well, besides all the trauma, we also get to know that Joker and Burns are indeed connected by that "fire eye", since he could sense Burns was doing something when he went saving Shinra when that whole thing happened, and it seems next episode is going to show that.

This was my favorite episode this season thus far! The pacing, the serious tone, the fighting & animation 🔥

Who would’ve thought a Joker x Benimaru alliance would be this epic! They’re two of the coolest characters who both a hatred towards the system and are ready to burn it down.

Benimaru had me nervous when he got dropped early on, but he made a comeback like it was nothing. Him burning all the soldiers with ease was satisfying.

I wouldn’t have expected Joker to have the past that he did, given how psychotic he seemed. But his past shaped him and now he’s coming for revenge. I was rooting for him the whole episode and I’m glad he got his lick back against his former “superior.”

I KNEW CAPTAIN 1 WAS SHADY!!! But now that Captain of Company 1 showed up at the end, I have no hope for Benimaru nor Joker. Damn….
